Show generally

Question: After the SGC find out the Russians have the Alpha gate and they're using the original DHD and then the SGC get the Alpha stargate back, do they hook up the DHD? If not, why?

Answer: No, in the episode "48 Hours", the SGC uses the Russian gate to retrieve their offworld teams and borrows the Russian's DHD to rescue Teal'c who is trapped in the gate's memory buffer. The procedure works, but destroys the DHD in the process.

Question: What is the song playing when Kevin Bacon is driving his car? It wasn't "Power Struggle" by Sunna.

Answer: Do you mean the scene where he is invisible, wearing his mask? If so, the song is called Charlie Big Potato by Skunk Anansie.

Answer: I checked the movie's credits (original concept, I know) then I listened to the song in the film and found the lyrics at http://www.letssingit.com/sunna-power-struggle-1bdk7zz.html and http://84210992.home.icq.com/lyrics.html and I can assure you that it was, in fact, "Power Struggle" by Sunna.

Answer: It's actually Skunk Anansie. I know this song from memory and can attest as a fan of the movie and the scene.

Question: The Hungarian woman who is excecuted is referred to by two slightly different names. When she is about to be hung, she is called one name, but everywhere else she is called something else. What IS her name?

Answer: The character's name is Katalin Helinszki but they refer to her as The Hunyak, the Hungarian.

Kara

Answer: It's a time where Networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, etc.) have their ratings for a season tabulated. This is a time both in the late fall and again in the late spring where shows usually have a cliffhanger or a wedding in order to attract more viewers and get better ratings.

Tobin OReilly

Question: When Hermione is using her Time Turner to attend multiple classes scheduled at the same time, she appears out of nowhere in the middle of the lessons. For this to happen, she must be travelling to the classroom after the lesson and then using the Time Turner in the empty classroom to send herself back. Is there any reason why she does it this way (rather than just travelling back to before the lesson and then entering the classroom with the others)?

Moose

Chosen answer: This is probably because she can't control exactly when she gets to class (she can only go back a number of hours), so she ends up slightly late for the lesson.

KingofallSamurai

Question: Sam Raimi always puts his 1973 Oldsmobile Delta Royal in his films, (save one) and I did not spot it in this one. Did anybody else see it?

Answer: I spotted it twice. Once towards the beginning when Peter goes to his surprise birthday party at Aunt May's, and the second when Aunt May is moving.

T Poston

Question: When Velkan turned into a werewolf it was at the night of a full moon. The exact same thing happened to Van Helsing. Why is it that when Velkan was attacked by a werewolf it happened in the morning? Werewolves only appear on the night of a full moon.

Answer: In the movie it is explained that after the first full moon a person will remain a werewolf forever. They can never return to human form.

Question: What is the music playing when Lizzie and Paolo are riding on his motorbike?

Answer: The song is "Volare" performed by Vitamin C. It is available on the "Lizzie McGuire Movie" soundtrack. A better known version of the song was sung by Dean Martin.

Question: This question is more about the book, but I'll ask it here anyway. Are Elladan and Elrohir, the Sons of Elrond, men or elves? The timeline in the appendix of the book says they were born at the beginning of the Third Age, 3000 years before the Ring was destroyed, and yet they fought in the war. However, the book implied that Legolas was the only elf to travel the Paths of the Dead with Aragorn and the Grey Company, which the Sons of Elrond were a part of.

Answer: Elladan and Elrohir were twins, and half-elven like their father. They returned to Rivendell after the War of the Rings, and were given the choice of going into the west or staying and becoming mortal. It is not known which choice they made.

scwilliam

Answer: Since Elrond had chosen to be of Elven kind when given the choice by the Valar, his children were of Elven kind too. But they were given the choice of either and leaving Middle-earth with him, or remaining and becoming mortal. "Elladan and Elrohir remained in Imladris well into the Fourth Age, and since they did not accompany Elrond over Sea they seem to have chosen to become Mortal." Robert Foster, "Complete Guide to Middle-Earth" (2nd edition p. 144).

Answer: A movie director. Was married to Sharron Tate, who was murdered by Charles Manson's followers. Won an Oscar for Best Director for the Piano. Any search engine will give you more info on him.

Jane Doe

Question: Does anyone actually know how old Wolverine is? When Jean is telling the X-men after his physical, she mentions that he may actually be older than the professor.

Answer: According to the comics (which may differ from the films), Logan was born James Howlett, in the latter part of the 19th century, most likely around 1890.

Tailkinker

Answer: When the creators were naming the shows, they wanted to incorporate "Death" in the title as one big run along joke. This eventually stoppped when even they were confused on which shows were which.

Question: When the player is saying "...I'm proud to finally play here in the fine city of Miami", who is the guy who stands up and corrects him? He looks really familiar but it isn't an important enough role to show up anywhere as far as I can tell.

Gary O'Reilly

Chosen answer: He's been a non-essential extra in a lot of films, but in a supporting role he is the the leader of the "3 sisters" group of male rapists in the Shawshank Redemption.

Question: What poem does Peter try to recite to MJ?

Answer: "The Song Of Hiawatha," the same one he was reading in the laundromat.

Xofer

Question: I got the feeling with Aunt May's speech that she knew Peter was Spider-Man, but it never specifically said if she did or not. Does she?

Jack's Revenge

Chosen answer: It's never specifically stated, but the general impression is that yes, she knows. In the classic Spider-Man comics, shortly before her (natural) death Aunt May tells Peter that she's known he was Spider-Man for a long time, and that she was very proud of him. We never know exactly when Aunt May makes the connection but it's safe to say that, based on the speech she gave Peter in the movie, she knows now.

Question: I don't understand what that look Mary Jane has at the end of the movie is all about. Is it something for the next movie, something from the comic books? If they had ended the movie just before that, it would have been a plausible ending, so I'm curious as to why that look was put in there.

Answer: She's happy to be with Peter, but she also recognizes that he has a duty that he can never set aside. For the rest of their relationship, he'll be keeping odd hours, constantly in mortal danger, and an indirect threat to her life if his identity is discovered by his enemies. She's not happy that he has to be Spider-Man, but she does understand and is ready to face a long, hard relationship.

Phoenix

Chosen answer: The Lizard (not Lizard Man) is Dr. Curt Connors, Peter's professor, or at least, he will be. Dr. Connors, if you remember, has no right arm; he becomes the Lizard (in the comics, anyway) trying to use reptile DNA (or something similar) to replicate reptiles' regenerative powers (since some reptiles, like skinks, can regrow their tails).

Question: When Doc Ock is in the operating room, he has a blindfold on. And his reaction when he takes it off appears that he went blind from the implosion. And we also see what he sees from the 4 arms. Its also shown that he is disoriented until the arms point to a direction. like when he flips the taxi, he doesn't seem to see it until the arms see it. So, did he become temporally blind? Or what exactly was it, because at first it did seem that he was blind and was relying on the arms for vision.

Kirill Ostapenko

Chosen answer: In the operating room Otto is unconscious and the arms are operating by themselves. He looks disorientated because he's just come out of the anasthetic, he has giant metal tentacles attatched to his body and everyone else is dead. When he flips the taxi, the tenticles are acting as extra eyes (sort of like Peter's spider-sense) which allow him to see in five directions at once, he looks with his human eyes to double check what the tenticle is showing him.

Question: Are the paintings of Spider-man 1 in the credits from a comic adaptation of the movie, or trading cards, or something like that, or were they done specially for Spider-man 2?

Xofer

Chosen answer: They were painted exclusively for Spider-Man 2, by Alex Ross, who painted the very famous Kingdom Come storyline a few years back.

DenizenZERO

Question: I read that in the comics there is a reason that Doc Ock's arms want to rebuild the fusion so desperately. This is not dealt with in the movie, can anyone tell me what the reason was?

Nick N.

Chosen answer: It was only mentioned once, and it was when he first showed them to the audience. He stated that they were built for the soul purpose of creating fussion, so that is all they wanted to do.
