Question: A friend and I were talking about the movie and about how Masquerade has a deeper meaning than just a party. She then tried to convince me that the phantom wrote all three operas based on how he was feeling. I think that the phantom only wrote Don Juan. Can someone enlighten me?
Answer: The phantom only wrote Don Juan, the others are just being performed by the characters. The film takes place over a year and it is set in an opera house that needs to make money, so they put on other operas. The phantom tries to have input into the staging of the operas and enjoys watching them, but has not written all of them.
Question: Is it possible that Palpatine was aware of Anakin's feelings for Padme and was trying to encourage something to happen between them by ordering her to leave Corusant with him? He later uses Anakin's love for Padme to turn him to the dark side.
Answer: Absolutely. He wasn't encouraging it (since it was already happening) he was manipulating events to his vision. The jedi have a power of far-seeing (essentially they see the (or a) future), and Palpatine seems to be very powerful in this field, but just because he can see it doesn't mean it happens, he has to shape the events he sees in his visions. After all, from seemingly nothing he worked his way up to the ultimate ruler of the universe. Getting two lovebirds together (for his own later use, of course) is nothing to him.
Question: How did that person get turned into Nemesis in both the film and the game? I just want to know if it is accurate.
Answer: It is never explained how the Nemesis came about in the game. But like the other Bio-weapons, it was probably created in a lab by a scientist. The reason it was created by Umbrella was to kill all STARS members. Because the T-Virus is so highly contagious, if one catches it of course, you turn into a zombie. But, that's not the only thing you can change into. Hence the man in the first Resident Evil movie gets cut, catches the T-Virus and starts to transform into the Nemesis.
Answer: Matt from Resident Evil 1 gets scratched by a liquor he then catches the liquor version of the virus. Then as the movie ends you hear the same to say I want him in the Nemesis program which transforms the liquor virus into the Nemesis character. Nemesis is actually made up of several of the bio weapons put together he's another form of the tyrant. Which all together is another character from part 1 he's the boss character from the game.
Question: Is there a reason why Lucas chose the number 66 to be the "code" for the clones to kill the Jedi? According to an article on msn.com, it is something Biblical; however, as the article was nonspecific, I am still not sure if it is an actual textual reference, or if it's just referring to the fact that the Bible contains 66 books.
Answer: Here is a site that contains several of the 66 references in and about the Bible: http://www.greaterthings.com/Word-Number/66.htm. There's no confirmed reason for George Lucas' decision.
Question: We can see a decoration in Ross' apartment, a kind of big Japanese sword hanging on the wall, especially on Seasons 2-3-4. Can anybody give some info about that weapon? I find it really beautiful.
Answer: This is a Chinese axe called a Pudao or a Guan Dao. It's made of a broadsword, but has a much longer handle - about four to six feet. Also known as the 'Horse-Cutter'.
Question: Chavez calls Billy "Chivato". What does this mean?
Answer: Chivato in northern Mexico chihuahua area a Chivato is a male kid goat but also can be used as a young person full of energy, also an endearing term for a young boy. Lincoln Country is 2.5 hours from El paso TX and Chihuahua Juarez to be exact where many a cowboy spent their pay so the term would have the same meaning in Lincoln Ruidoso, Capitán where I grew up.
Answer: According to Lou Dimond Phillips himself in a tweet in response to the word, he said "'Chivato.' I'm told it means little kid, as in goats and as in Billy the Kid."
Answer: Chavez means Chivato as a young man not a traitor as some speculate.
Question: In the bonus features of the movie, the director and Will talked about how they both didn't see eye to eye or didn't get along. Is this true or were they just messing around and being funny?
Answer: They're messing around. Will Ferrell and director Adam McKay are great friends. They wrote the screenplay for Anchorman together and are currently working together again on an as of yet untitled comedy about NASCAR which is due in 2006.
Question: In the film, is it mentioned why the killer left pictures of Maureen Prescott after each death?
Answer: He's giving hints to who he is. Remember, the killer is Roman, Maureen's illegitimate son. She had him during a time in her life that no one else knew about, so the the pictures are Roman's way of leading everyone to what eventually becomes obvious.
Question: How is it that Princess Leia, in the hologram, knows who Obi-Wan is? And yet Luke doesn't. How could she possibly know who he is when, in Episode III, the only time she "sees" Obi-Wan is when she is an infant.
Answer: She's never met him, but has been told about him by her adoptive father, Bail Organa, who gave her the mission to go and collect Obi-Wan.
Question: What is the title of the song playing when Bill is dying after the Bride performs the five point exploding heart on him?
Answer: Taken Directly from imdb.com: The music that plays during Bill's (David Carradine) death scene is the theme from the film Navajo Joe (1966). It can also be heard in the film Election (1999) during the scene where Tracy (Reese Witherspoon) tears down the posters in the school's hallway.
Question: When Marty is playing "Johnny B. Goode", he is doing guitar moves from different performers. What performers is he imitating?
Answer: It seems to me that he is imitating the following: Chuck Berry (which makes sense), Jimi Hendrix, Eddie Van Halen and Pete Townsend (the kicking the amp bit.)
Also Bruce Springsteen doing the full guitar circle, Angus Young crawling on the floor and Jimi Hendrix with the guitar solo.
Question: Could someone please tell me who was actually murdered? I understand that all the characters at the motel were personalities in the mind of Malcolm Rivers, and that the killer was Timmy, who was also one of Rivers' personalities. So if all the people at the motel were not real, why is Rivers about to be executed for murder, and how did the authorities have photos of the murdered people if there were no actual people murdered?
Answer: The actual, "real-life" killings happened before the events shown in the movie and are shown briefly in a flashback. The authorities knew that Malcolm had done it while believing to be one of his alternate personalities, but did not know which one, and had to be convinced that the killer personality was dead before changing his sentence to life imprisonment. Meanwhile, the killings we see in the motel during the movie, are Malcolm killing off his other personas, leaving in fact only - the killer.
Answer: Since Timmy is the killer here, it would be correct to assume that he blew up the car and took Ginny away during the commotion and killed her in some way that isn't shown in film. Or else blowing up of the car becomes completely pointless and a classic like this won't show a scene that doesn't have a significance. So blowing up the car was actually a part of the plot to kill Ginny.
Question: One thing I'm unsure of in the transition between episodes III and IV involves R2D2 and Obi-Wan. In Episode IV. Obi-Wan says "Strange, I don't remember owning any droids" when he meets C3PO and R2D2. Now technically yes, he never OWNED the droids, and he has been in hiding for 19 years, but after all, he and R2 went through in the past, you'd think he'd be more pleased to see him. He barely even recognises him. Any theories anyone?
Answer: Actually it was Anakin whom R2 accompanied during the events of the new trilogy. Obi-wan spent most of his time with R4-P17, and that was (as you've said) because he was essentially part of his cruiser, not because he owned him. So upon seeing R2 that many years later, it's understandable that he would not strike him as a droid he ever "owned."
Question: How did Dolarhyde pick the women that he would kill?
Question: Does anyone know which episode it is where Joey and Chandler are at another apartment and Joey runs out of the bathroom and says "now would be a great time to leave because I've just clogged the toilet"?
Answer: This is in season four. The episode is called "The One With All The Haste". Monica and Rachel are trying to get their apartment back from the guys.
Answer: I thought he was freaking out, realizing the picture was made of thousands of tiny dots (pointillism).

Answer: He knew right away, because he knew that Lily didn't have any children, so Nisi and Mickey could not be Lily's granddaughters.
