Question: There's a HUGE rumor that's been going around since Return of the Jedi came out: There's actually three more scripts (besides the prequels). Is there, in fact, a Star Wars: Episode VII, Episode VIII, and Episode IX? If so, what are they about?
Answer: While planning Star Wars, Lucas had a vague notion of doing a long series of movies inspired by old serials, then dropped that idea in favor of just one. When Star Wars became a phenomenon and sequels became feasible, Lucas revisited the idea. He thought of three trilogies along with some stand-alone "in-between" stories for a total of 12 films. By the time of The Empire Strikes Back's release, this was pared down to the 9 mainline films, going by interviews with Lucas and the cast at the time. By Return of the Jedi, Lucas had decided to end the saga there, with the option that he could revisit the first three at some later point. It's unclear if Lucas ever had any specific story ideas for the proposed sequel trilogy, and they never had any scripts. Producer Gary Kurtz suggested in an interview they would've been about Luke's twin sister (not Leia), though many fans are skeptical about just how much he would know about them. Of course since this question was asked a sequel trilogy was written and released.
Answer: This was long a long-standing rumour, but George Lucas always denied it. He allowed various authors to cover the history of that time period in book form - if he'd had any serious intention of doing films set in that timeframe, he wouldn't have done that. Since that time of course Disney took over the franchise and has announced new films, but entirely separate from the previous "expanded universe" of the novels, and not involving any ideas George Lucas may have had in the past.
Answer: I'm not sure how old this question is but it is a sequel trilogy. Episode VII : The Force Awakens is about a scavenger and former stormtrooper teaming up the Resistance to attempt to defeat the new First Order and Kylo Ren (Ben Solo). Episode VIII : The Last Jedi is about Rey finding Luke Skywalker who is in exile hoping that he would be left alone, and he tells the story of how he tried to murder his nephew who in retaliation, turned to the dark side. Episode IX : Rise of Skywalker is about the return of Emperor Palpatine and recovering Sith Wayfinders that will lead them to Exegol and kill him, with Billy Dee Williams returning as Lando Calrissian.
Question: In the extended edition, they talk to Saruman in his tower, why was this cut out from the theatrical release? It's such a necessary scene.
Answer: Because it disrupted the flow of events. Saruman's the enemy from film 2 - spending several minutes at the beginning of film 3 dealing with him accomplishes nothing. He provides no critical information and we don't need to see his death scene - the Ents have him contained at the end of film 2 and that's it for him. Ultimately, while it's a good scene, it's not required for the overall plot and takes up time that could be better used.
Mind Games - S1-E8
Question: Right after the brain switch Kim (in Ron's body) picks up Ron (in Kim's body) and proceeds to fight Shego. During the fight she kicks Shego rather hard. As her shoe comes straight toward the camera we see there is something written on her shoe. What does this say?
Answer: Club Bananna, the clothes store from the show.
Question: In the scene where Nemo gets initiated, Jacques the shrimp wakes him up, says "suivez-moi", swims off and then clarifies - "follow me". In the French version, however, Jacques first says something similar to "suivez-moi", then when he comes back he says something almost completely different. What is the English translation for the second thing he says?
Answer: In the French version, he says "suivez-moi" twice, but it's 2 different voices, and the French dub has a strong French accent, so it sounds different.
Question: How did the gyro captain and especially the little boy get back to the rest of the group from the refinery without attracting Humungus and his crew? The caravan left in the opposite direction like 15 minutes before, mad max had no vehicle to drive back, the boy can't drive at all, and the gyro captain crashed his gyro. But in the end the boy and the gyro captain manage to get back into the caravan before sunset without Humungus following.
Answer: The gyrocopter was just unable to fly. It still could roll along the ground. It is possible that he repaired it to get back to the rest of the group. As for Humungus and his minions, I'm pretty sure Humungus was killed in the impact with the truck that Max was driving. The few surviving minions probably lost interest in the whole affair when they lost their leader which one can assume when you see them turn around after seeing the spectacular collision and not even bothering to see if anyone survived.
Question: What's the name of the song that Anna's band sings for their audition? And is there anywhere I can hear it or buy it or has someone actually released it?
Answer: It's called 'Take Me Away' by Christina Vidal. It's on the movie soundtrack.
Question: After the sand-people knock Luke to the ground and later scatter. Obi Wan reaches Luke's arm for a pulse and then touches Luke's forehead. Could this be taken that Luke was dead and Obi Wan returned him to the living?
Answer: I doubt it. It's a common thing to do when facing someone with an injury; check for a pulse, and place a hand on the forehead. I don't know why, it just seems to be a common thing to do (at least, for people who aren't fully trained that is). I personally think that he's either sensing his force power, or he's just overcome with compassion, either for Luke (remember, Luke is the whole reason he's been on that planet for 20-odd years), or perhaps remembering happier times with Anakin (maybe he sees or "feels" a resemblance between them). It can be interpreted as a sign of compassion, anyway.
I always assumed he was just using The Force to heal whatever injury Luke might have had (concussion, et.al).
Answer: Most likely he was using the Force to heal his injuries; we see him also do this to Padme after Anakin nearly kills her. The ability to Force Heal is heavily utilized and explained in Episode IX, after seeing it used multiple times by Rey and Ben Solo.
Question: This is a general Star Wars question: Do Luke and/or Leia ever come into contact with their family on Naboo - Padme's family? This may have happened in the novels.
Answer: So far, they haven't. In fact, until recently, they didn't even know their mother's name. However, it is not impossible that this may happen in the future. In the novel "Dark Nest 1: The Joiner King" (published in July 2005), which takes place 35 years after Episode IV, they finally discover their mother's first name, which could perhaps lead to further investigation. We'll just have to wait and see.
Question: There were two times in this film where sound effects seemed to come straight from 'Terminator 2'. Both appeared in the scene where Mace and Lenny are being chased by Steckler and Engelman. First, the sound of screeching car tires sounded identical to the T-1000's skidding tires as he swerves to the off-ramp in the liquid nitrogen truck. Second, when Engelman fired the machine gun at the car, the sound was the same as Sarah shooting Dyson's computers at his home. Is it the same sounds or just similar ones?
Question: I've noticed that every time Louis mentions Quagmire's name, she calls him Glen. I don't remember it mentioned anywhere in any of the episodes that his first name is Glen. Does anybody know for sure if this is his first name, and if not, why does Louis call him by that name?
Answer: I have come across this many times with family and friends. It is quite informal calling someone by a nickname or surname and is usually only done by close friends. Maybe Lios would find it impolite to call Glen "Quagmire" as she does not know him as well as Peter does.
Answer: In the episode "Meet The Quagmires" it became apparent that Glen and Lois and Peter all knew each other in high school, even though this contradicted the original meeting of Peter and Quagmire on a navy boat in the flashback of the episode "Death Lives."
Question: What happened to Belle's mother? And where are the beast's parents, the king and queen?
Answer: It's never explained, but we're to assume they are dead. In the case of Belle the absence of the mother is a typical plot scenario for Disney heroines, i.e. Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Cinderella, Snow White, etc., but is never explained.
Answer: In the latest movie, it is explained that Belle's mother died from the plague.
And the Prince's mother died from some unknown reason.
Question: During the opening title sequence, one of the future shots, there is a shot of a starship flying over the camera. The engines (3 large, with 2 sets of 2 small ones in between, glowing blue) and the ship's movement look very similar to the star destroyer from Star Wars New Hope's opening shot. The theme for the Enterprise's opening is pioneering and exploration, and Star Wars was a revolution in special effects (and ILM has done some shots for Star Trek). Is this a tribute or just coincidence?
Answer: It is likely just coincidence. The ship in question is designed to show the state of space travel about halfway between the flight of the Phoenix and the launch of Enterprise. It is flying over the moon, to highlight the fact that in the early 22nd century, mankind was just mastering the colonization of our own solar system.
Question: Does anyone know what all the buttons on Darth Vader's suit are for and what they do?
Answer: The buttons are a console for all of the life support systems inside Vader's suit - breathing, air regulation, vocabulator, and temperature control. They are specially protected, however, such that hitting the console in a lightsaber fight won't deactivate any systems.
Question: Whats the music playing when Austin is running around the hotel because he has realised he is single again?
Answer: It's called "Soul Bossa Nova", by Quincy Jones.
Question: I apologize I guessed at the episode, it was the one which featured Brandon, the boy who had the pills mix up and had sex with his fiancée at the beginning. I'm a little confused as to the ending, what was the significance of the letters on the pills? Why did the two doctors make a big deal about it when Brandon told them about it? Why was House so pleased to find those two pills in the inventory? It seemed like a sudden end to me.
Question: Why did Dunbar's superior kill himself as Dunbar was being taken to his new post?
Answer: He was mentally disturbed and was depressed about being assigned to a "dead end" post with no chance at advancement. Dunbar, the hero, choosing to be assigned to the frontier, just pushed the poor soul over the edge.
In a word, the disease syphilis. The urinary tract problems and the Insanity are possible side effects.
What are you basing this on? What in the movie indicates that he has syphilis?
Answer: Dunbar's superior supported the British ("The King is dead... Long live the King" said with a heavy British accent) and was likely a closet-case Redcoat his entire US military career. It was not rare and many suicides were a result of that.
This claim is not supported by the movie. "The King is dead. Long live the King" is a common idiom referring to the passing of power to someone new. It most definitely does not literally refer to the English King. The movie is set in the middle of Queen Victoria's reign. As for your assertion that there were a large number of English loyalists in the Union Army three generations after the Revolutionary War seems highly unlikely. Can you cite evidence of this?
Question: During the Roxanne number, why does Chocolat leave just in time to stop the Duke from raping her? How did he know she'd be in danger?
Answer: He didn't. If you recall in that scene the mood is very dark and everyone knows what Satine has to do in order to keep thier jobs and her job. But they all knew she was obligated to do it, so Chocolat took it upon himself to get Satine out of that situation before something bad happened, regardless of what happens to them later. As shown, he gets there in the nick of time.
