Question: Why does Sonny write the time that Solozzo calls him at his home to tell him that he has Tom Hagen? He writes "8:30" on the cabinet. I think it's explained in the book, but there is some significance to it.

Question: What happened to Julia? They spend time building up a character and then she dated Frasier and they broke up, and in the next episode there is no mention of her leaving the station - no one talked about her?
Chosen answer: TV shows frequently have short-term characters who never appear again. Maybe Julia got another job. Maybe Julia still works at KACL, even if she is never shown or mentioned.
Answer: She became victim to "Chuck Cunningham Syndrome." Which is described as: "when a character in a television mysteriously vanishes from the show. No write-off, no death, not even a passing explanation of what happened to the character."
It's annoying when they introduce the character build it up and then get rid of it with none of the characters mentioning it.
Question: Does anyone know the specific setting at the end where Jude Law dies. I know the general settings but would love to know this specific trail. It's beautiful and I'd love to hike it.
Answer: The movie is set in North Carolina and the Appalachian Mountains, but it was mostly filmed in Romania and the Carpathian Mountains, so the trail may be located there, making it harder to pinpoint. Cold Mountain and the surrounding Shining Rock Wilderness are part of Pisgah National Forest in North Carolina. I suggest checking for a Pisgah web site that might have info and also North Carolina's state website for tourist info. There may be a NC government office that markets the state to the movie industry that can help. However, I suspect the trail is probably in Romania. - P.S. Question: In real movie time how long did each dream last? The hotel dream time, the city dream, and the snow mountains dream. I don't buy it that they spent 8 years hiking in those mountains.
Answer: The dream is stated to last about 20 times as long as time in the real world, with the flight taking 10 hours. This means that the first level would be 200 hours (just over a week), the second level would be around 20 weeks (about 5 months), and the third level about 100 months (just over 8 years). However, that is the length of time for the entire dream, start to finish. That is not how long each person stays in the dream. They were not hiking in the mountains for 8 years, just a few minutes or an hour at the most. However, if they were to miss a kick on any level, they would either have to stay in that mountain base for the full 8 years or get kicked down to limbo for even longer, potentially.
Question: Before they break up and Larry comes home, was Anna planning on leaving him that night and telling Larry the truth? Or did it just happen because of Larry's confession?
Answer: She was planning on leaving Larry. Notice how he questioned her about her appearance - she claimed to have had a bath, but was dressed again. She initially told him that she went out to buy milk. Then she explained that Dan had been at the house. Most likely, she got dressed because she was ready to leave their home in a hurry.
I think that Anna didn't know what she wanted.
Question: How did Alan's parents die? On their gravestone it says they died in the same year.
Answer: They never say how they died. It seems to be grief related, but anything would be speculation. They spent all their money and time into searching for Alan, and Sam dies when he's 70, which is below the national average, but still a fairly old age. And if he spent his time and money, he may have disregarded his own health (speculation). Even though Carol is only 61 when she passes, she may have realised she'll never see her son and then he husband has now passed away and she couldn't bear it and passes away (speculation).
If that was always sad, I wonder if he blamed himself for the fight before it disappeared.
Question: How exactly did Walt poison Brock? It doesn't make sense, the hospital said it was lily of the valley, but Walt and Saul confirmed it was ricin.
Answer: Walt does use Lilly of the Valley berries to poison Brock. Vince Gilligan said he and the writers imagined Walt went to Brock's school with a poisoned juice box (there's subtle clues to confirm Walt knew what school Brock went to). But, when Jesse went to Saul's office, Saul's bodyguard, Huell, does a cigarette pack swap on Jesse when he pats Jesse down. Now the cigarette pack Jesse has no longer has the vial of ricin in it and Walt tries to convince Jesse that Gus stole the ricin and used it on Brock.
Question: Why do Alex and his droogs go to beat up the writer and his wife? What did they do to him that made him want to choose them in particular?
Answer: They don't have a reason beyond wanting to commit crimes. Alex says as much. There's nothing special about the couple, it was just a crime of opportunity.
Question: What's with the earth ships lowering or raising shields for beaming and ships to come in and out, and why do they keep changing it all the time?
Answer: Shields are shields, and until Odyssey got the Asgard treatment in Unending, nothing can go through them. No transporting and no docking. After Unending, it is shown in Atlantis that beaming can be done through the shields, but not docking. They never changed this but once. Anything else is just a goof.
Well you do see X302 flying out of the ship during a battle and shields are up, but in Atlantis season 5 episode 1 they lower their shields for puddle jumpers to come on on board. I understand that some ships can pass through Shields and some can't. Ancient ships can go through Atlantis shield. Pegasus Asgard could go through an Atlantis shield until they made modifications to prevent that.
The shields only work in one direction. Things can travel out of the shields, such as the missiles and railgun fire. This includes the F-302s. The puddle jumpers needed to enter the shields, which cannot be done without lowering them.
Question: What's the name of the background song that plays around the 35 minute mark of the movie, when Alex walks out of the club to talk to Jimmy?
Answer: "Feel my flow now" by naught by nature.
Question: Why is the Phantom referred to as both "angel" and "demon"?
Answer: In my opinion, it is a comparison of who he is truly striving to be, in comparison to his physical appearance. Christine had an angel of music, who was her tutor. The phantom believed that the angel was him. Also, it could be that he sings so well (like the voice of an angel), but has a "hideous" physical appearance (like one might think of when they think of a Demon).
Question: At the end of the book, Harry's worst suspicions about Mr and Mrs Weasley had been confirmed, but what were those suspicions? Was it that they still thought that Sirius wasn't innocent?
Answer: While Uncle Vernon had been waiting for Harry to arrive, Vernon was "standing a good distance from Mr and Mrs Weasley," who were also waiting near the platform's barrier, and it's Vernon who was "eyeing them suspiciously." Vernon suspected that Molly and Arthur were of the dreaded Wizardkind, so when Molly hugged Harry on the platform, Vernon's "worst suspicions about them seemed confirmed" so he knew he was right. And we all know how Vernon hates the wizarding world.
Question: How did Lupin know that they were staying at Grimmauld place? Arthur said do not reply as they're being watched so how did Remus find out? Did he just guess?
Answer: It was an educated guess. Grimmauld Place not only belonged to Harry, having inherited it from Sirius Black, but it was the former headquarters for the Order of the Phoenix. Only a few Order members knew its secret location and how to enter. It was one of the safest and most secure places Harry could be at, and Lupin would likely check to see if he and the others were hiding there.
Question: When Ratha and Peter were talking about Peter's father, what did Connors mean by "I had nothing to do with that"? What did he have nothing to do with? Also, what did Ratha mean when he said Peter's father wore it well and what did Connors say that apparently Richard said? Also, Ratha said "Is that what you told his son Peter"? How did Ratha know that Connors had met with Peter?
Answer: Dr. Connors says "I had nothing to do with that" in reference to Richard Parker's apparent death. Ratha was implying that Connors was complicit in the death, to which Connors disagrees. When Ratha says "Richard Parker wore it well" he was talking about the indignation Connors was expressing about speeding up human trials. Apparently, though it is only vaguely mentioned in the film, Connors and Parker had already violated ethics with regards to the project. The thing that Connors said that apparently Richard Parker also said was that speeding up human trials was wrong. Ratha knew that Peter met with Connors because he had been spying on Connors.
Question: If Roald Dahl hated the way the movie was being made, why in the DVD special features, does it show him on set with cast and crew looking like he's having a good time with everyone?
Answer: Disagreeing with a studio's choices about your story wouldn't preclude enjoying an on-set visit.
Question: Some episodes towards the end of season 6 feature different end credits with a Warner Brothers logo but in some repeats they replace them with the normal credits - why?
Answer: Because that show was first created by Warner Bros, not CW.

Question: Tom is showing Kes how to pilot a shuttle in the holodeck. Why did they use footage of Jem'Hadar fighters attacking?
Answer: Because it saves on production costs.
Answer: As stated, the practical answer is to save money on effects. The in-world answer is that they could recreate the fighters from sensor records.
Answer: To help her prepare for threats and other obstacles that she may encounter while piloting a shuttlecraft.
My question is why did the show reuse footage from ds9 s3 of Jem'Hadar fighters attacking?

Answer: Because Solozzo says Hagen will be released in three hours with Solozzo's proposition, i.e., the new terms in the wake of Don Corleone's death (at this point, Solozzo believes he is dead). Sonny writes down the time so he knows exactly when to expect Hagen to be released, and he writes it on the cabinet because he has no paper nearby (he quickly looks around for some before writing on the cabinet).
