Continuity mistake: When Harry falls back after being startled by Sirius the dog, the Knight Bus headlights shine glaringly bright light all over Harry and the trunk. Yet in the next shot facing the oncoming Knight Bus, Harry and the trunk are barely lit by the headlights, which are nowhere near as bright. In the previous shot the light is obviously provided by spots. (00:08:10)

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban mistake picture

Continuity mistake: After leaving the Dursleys, Harry sits down on the pavement beside his trunk, with no room between the two. When he turns to look at the squeaking swings, in the shot from behind him, there is at least a foot of space between Harry and the trunk. Yet in the next shot that faces him, the trunk is beside him once again. (00:07:20)

Continuity mistake: When Marge floats out the patio door in the exterior shot her jacket lies flat over her skirt. In the next shot Vernon shouts, "I've got you Marge," as he grabs hold of her hands, and the bottom of her jacket is way up by her arms - note the blazer lining and her blouse. However, in the next shot the jacket lies straight and flat once again. (00:05:25)

Continuity mistake: In the first exterior shot, as the Dursleys eat dinner, both sides of the kitchen window (above the patio set) are closed. When Harry says, "Oh yeah, I've been beaten loads of times," the right side of the window is clearly open, as the window's diamond shaped pattern is only towards the left side. It's also visible when the lights flicker and the window curtain on the right blows in. In the last shot, as Marge floats away, both sides of the window are closed again. (00:03:10 - 00:05:45)

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban mistake picture

Continuity mistake: Between the shots of Marge floating out of the house and later when Petunia runs to Vernon on the grass, there are many significant changes. The short brick walls that edge the Dursley garden are actually different bricks, different grout and are even aligned differently between these shots. The bushes along the wood fence are at least 2-3 ft away from the corner bricks in the first shots, but in the last shot are aligned with the corner. The height of those bushes go from being way above the top of the wood fence to being at least a foot below. In the first shots there are small metal plaques that are attached along the top of the wood fence, but in the last shot they are gone. (00:05:30)

Troy (2004)

Trivia: Due to the political situation in Iraq, the location for scale shots was moved from Morocco to Mexico, an ideal alternate choice with its broad beach. However, the rushed decision presented some obstacles. Coastal Mexico is an endangered turtle habitat, so to be granted permission to set up the Greek encampment and build boats on the large stretch of beach, the film crew implemented their own turtle incubation nursery, releasing a multitude of turtles while on location in Mexico. They also did not have an accurate idea of the physical conditions of that particular beach - it was unstable and 100 feet of beach washed away overnight, leaving Greek ships teetering precariously on the edge of the bank with the missing sand.

Troy (2004)

Troy mistake picture

Visible crew/equipment: As the 'Trojan' horse is being pulled into the city of Troy, in the cable-cam shot, just after the camera passes over the last of the riders on horseback, it passes a wood structure on the left, beside the large columns. Inside is a man in a black tee shirt, standing beside another man who holds an HT (handie-talkie - a two-way radio) up to his mouth with his right hand, as he points with his left hand. Then when the cable-cam spins around, they and a white tee shirt guy are visible down below. As a side note, there are some in the crowd that make eye contact with the camera and follow it as it passes (the cable-cam is not the POV of anyone - it sails over people's heads in the opposite direction than the 'Trojan' horse is being brought). Before it nears the wood structure, a woman on the ground below raises both her arms to wave and smile directly at the camera as it passes over. (02:17:10)

Troy (2004)

Continuity mistake: When Priam sits on the throne, with Hector and Paris beside him, as Glaucus says, "If they want a war, we will give them a war..." the flames burn brightly in the two torches standing within the doorway behind the throne. However, when Priam asks, "Glaucus, you have fought with me for forty years, can we win this war?" there is NO flame in the torch on the right side of the doorway - visible behind Hector ONLY on widescreen DVD. Yet when Glaucus says, "...and we have Hector," the flame burns brightly once again. (This is not due to the flame flickering.) (00:56:50)

Troy (2004)

Continuity mistake: After Achilles stabs Hector with the spear, as Hector falls to his knees in the close-up, his greaves and shoes are entirely dusty/dirty - causing the dark sandals to be very light. However, as Achilles ties the rope around Hector's ankles in the close-up, Hector's greaves and sandals are now relatively clean and note the interesting pin-dot tread on the rubber soles of Hector's sandals. Troy (2004)

Revealing mistake: During their fight in front of Troy's wall, Ajax shoves his weapon into Hector's face, causing Hector to fall back. In the next shot looking up, as Hector hits the ground, part of the wall is gone. There is even a bit of the crew's scaffold, visible behind the edge of the 'stone'. This particular piece of wall was never built as part of the actual set, so when it appears onscreen it is always CG, though in this shot the composite people did not complete it and at this precise angle it should be there. When the bodies are being collected (at the end of this battle), there is a good view of the wall intact. (01:20:00)

Troy (2004)

Revealing mistake: Just before Priam and Hector speak about Paris and Helen, the camera pans the exterior of the palace at the start of the shot. Later, when the camera pans up after Achilles dies, the same structures are visible, yet part of the stone buildings (beyond the statues that stand beside the grass) and a piece of the wall around the palace, are completely different. (This has nothing to do with camera angles.) (00:30:15 - 02:31:10)

Labyrinth (1986)

Revealing mistake: When Sarah takes the chair to break Jareth's glass bubble, the flower adorned lace topped table is seen. Then as she breaks the glass the table is visible once again, however, the way the tablecloth lies and the flowers, cups, etc., are all positioned differently. (01:09:10)

Continuity mistake: When Sarah is in Jareth's 'glass' bubble, as she lifts the chair in order to break the glass, the blue cushion has a perfectly straight seam, the cushion ties are tied to the back of the chair, and the wood underside of the chair is visible surrounded by the tubular frame. However, in the next shot as the chair goes through the glass, the blue cushion seam at the back is very crooked, the cushion tie is gone and the underside of the chair is completely different. Visible crew/equipment: After the Goblins sing, "Slime and snails... Thunder or lightning," they all sing, "Jump, magic, jump..." and when the Goblin, with the red scarves at his waist (same one as earlier shot, also visible in later shot), lands back on the ground the wires attached to the back of his shoulders are visible. Then in the next wide shot, the wires attached to the back of the waist on the tall Goblin with the long hair, are visible. (00:25:40)

Visible crew/equipment: After the Trojans let loose their arrows on the Myrmidons who have just reached their shores, there is a close-up of a Myrmidon stuntguy as he slams onto the sand, beside the ship. At the start of this shot a crew member (who is stooping) is visible on deck, at the bow of the ship. (Use slo-mo if necessary.) (00:39:50)

Visible crew/equipment: In Sparta, when Paris enters Helen's room he stands behind her, as she sits in front of a stone wall and they are alone. When he puts his hands on her shoulders and then pulls her hair back, the reflections of crew members are visible in the circular medallions of his upper arms' armor, first on his right then on his left (use slo-mo if necessary). As a matter of fact, there are other instances throughout the film that set lights, etc., are reflected on the men's armor. (00:11:55)

Troy mistake picture

Visible crew/equipment: As Achilles' ship nears the Trojan shores, Agamemnon snidely asks, "What's the fool doing? He's going to take the beach of Troy with fifty men?" At the start of the next shot, as the camera begins to pan down, on the far right, just beside a person's (who is dressed in blue) head is a metal bullhorn (ie. used to give instructions to cast/crew, and which definitely doesn't belong in this time period). Troy (2004)

Visible crew/equipment: While Hector and Achilles duel, there is a wide shot just before Hector breaks Achilles' spear. At the start of this shot, as Achilles begins to thrust the spear towards Hector, an equipment shadow (an upside down V) is visible on the ground behind Hector's feet. (The equipment that casts this shadow is seen on DVD 2, it glides above the camera on a suspended wire.) (01:59:20)
