Continuity mistake: In Nicholas's hotel room, just after Nicholas is thrown onto the bed, Michael shoves Nicholas into the dresser. In the first shot (facing the dresser), the officer's back faces the dresser, as he slams his head into Michael's stomach (which is to the right of the dresser), and his arm is stretched when he breaks the glass. Second (close-up) shot (facing the right side of the dresser), Nicholas's head faces the opposite way (to the left of the lamp) and his arm is bent at the elbow as the glass breaks again. Third shot (same angle as first), his body position is the same as first shot. (01:17:35)

And the film's director, Edgar Wright, is seen as the store employee pushing the cart when Nicholas walks towards the manager's office.

As the comment about Puking Pustules is made, the string tie at the bottom of Ginny's sweater is rather long. Continuity mistake: During the interruption of the OWL examination, when Umbridge stands at the doorway to the Great Hall, she casts a very long noticeable shadow directly in front of herself, as she looks to her left. Next shot, as the twins fly past, she now casts a shadow perpendicular to the previous one, with the former one gone. (01:32:00)

Continuity mistake: After Harry declares "If Voldemort's raising an army, I want to fight", it cuts to him sleeping in bed, and the blanket's position differs between shots.

Continuity mistake: Before the Dementor attack, just as the sky darkens and the wind kicks in at the playground, newspaper is blown against the fence, behind Harry, but after a brief shot of Dudley the newspaper is gone then blows there again. In the following overhead shot, the newspaper is gone, but when it cuts back to Harry, the newspaper is back yet again. (00:04:00)
