Ride now for Gondor!" please note that Théoden's sheath is at his left side and Éomer's strap hangs down his left shoulder to his right side - whereas normally they are the opposite way. Deliberate mistake: Some moments after Gandalf whacks Denethor, the wizard rides Shadowfax up the stairs and all the archers' quivers hang on their right, instead of left. Then, the wizard shouts, "Send the foul beast into the abyss!" in a close-up that is flipped - note Gandalf's cloak broach, which is backwards. Another following close-up of the wizard is also flipped. All done for direction continuity. (02:01:55)

Deliberate mistake: When Gandalf and Pippin quickly ride to the aid of Faramir and his men, who flee the Orcs at Osgiliath, in the first close-up of Gandalf and the Halfling, the wizard's silver broach is noticeably backwards - the shot is flipped for direction continuity. (01:12:40)

Continuity mistake: Whilst Elizabeth puppeteers her wedding dress, in the close-up Captain Bellamy stands up and says, "Over there," as he points with his left arm extended. However, in the next overhead shot, it is his right arm that is extended as he points. (01:06:50)

Continuity mistake: After Jack is hung up over the kindling, to be "roasted and eaten", a cannibal carries a torch across the bridge and shouts. In the cannibal's close-up, the painted black/white sticks pierce his left ear, whereas in the previous and following shots the sticks actually pierce his right ear. When she drops her bouquet to run to Will, as the camera pans up the rows of chairs are farther back. (00:02:10)

Continuity mistake: When Jack spills oil on his cuffed hand, his fingers and nails are filthy as he slips the shackle off. However, next shot, when his hand is free, his nails are not nearly as black. (02:13:40)

Continuity mistake: When Governor Swann says, "Stand your men down!" there are two soldiers at his sides, and the silver medallions on their white straps move up and down, between the wide shots and close-ups. (00:02:40)

Continuity mistake: After the monkey throws Jack's hat overboard, Gibbs, Marty, Cotton, et al, run to look over the deck rail, when Gibbs shouts, "Jack's hat!" However, in the next shot it's not until Gibbs turns and shouts, "Clearabout!" that Marty, Cotton and the rest actually reach the deck rail. (00:17:10)
