Continuity mistake: When Gregorio and Ingrid drive the kids to school, Juni's tie is first under his seat belt, then it is over the seat belt, and once again under the seat belt. Plus, the seatbelt near Juni's collar differs between his reflection on Floop's screen and the real Juni.

Continuity mistake: In the kids' room, when Ingrid approaches Juni to remind him about the wart medicine, Juni's red and yellow cars are on the blue dresser behind Ingrid. Then when Ingrid finishes telling the spy story, as she says, "Trading espionage for parenthood," the cars' positions differ, and when Juni says, "It needs monsters," they change position again. Continuity mistake: In the opening shot of the film, as Carmen sits by the window, Ingrid walks past the table in the hallway when she enters the bedroom and on the table are flowers and a doll. Behind Carmen, a red cloth is draped over the tall dresser. In the following shots a lamp (lit) makes its appearence on the hallway table, the doll's position changes and the red cloth on the dresser not only changes position, but in many shots one side is actually gone. Continuity mistake: When Ingrid is in the bedroom at the vanity table, the tray of makeup with the lipstick at the back is reflected in the large center oval mirror directly behind it. However, in the next close-up as she types on the makeup, the mirror's back wood support and the bedroom wall are behind the makeup, not the mirror. It is only in the next shot, as Ingrid finishes typing, that the mirror actually turns horizontally to expose the wood support and wall. (00:07:35)

Visible crew/equipment: Having just killed Boagrius, Achilles walks toward the Thessalian soldiers as his name is being shouted by the Greeks behind him. In this wide shot facing the soldiers, there is a center mark evenly spaced between two precisely positioned diagonal marks on the ground, in front of the soldiers. Achilles first walks toward the right mark to shout the question, two shots later he walks to the left mark to shout again and two shots later Triopas walks to the right mark and holds out his scepter at the center mark. Continuity mistake: After Briseis kills Agamemnon, Achilles slices the first soldier's neck and as the man falls back it is apparent that his helmet (and wig) falls off (a bit more noticeable on VHS). However, in the following shots it's quite an accomplishment that this soldier has his helmet on, as he lies dead on the grass. (02:28:00)

Continuity mistake: When Thetis says, "Like the ones I used to make you when you were a boy. Remember?" she puts her hand in the water to pick up the sea shell and the bottom of her right sleeve gets soaked in the close-up. However, in the next shot as she turns to face Achilles, that sleeve is dry. Her clothing material darkens greatly when wet, note the bottom of her clothing as she stands in the water when Achilles first walks over. (More noticeable on VHS.) (00:24:40)

Revealing mistake: Achilles is hit with the final arrow that Paris lets loose, and he drops down to his knees. As he kneels on the grass his left ankle and foot are perfectly visible, and the arrow in his ankle/foot is unequivocally gone! (Visible on VHS.)

Continuity mistake: When Achilles pulls the second arrow out of his chest (the first one is in his heel), there is a thick double stream of blood that runs down his armor from the hole. When he is hit with the third arrow the stream is thinner and when hit with the fourth, the stream of blood is a single very thin line. (02:28:30)

Continuity mistake: When Faramir is carried up and placed near the White Tree, Denethor walks down the stairs to approach him. The two soldiers who stand on the stairs outside the palace doors repeatedly change from standing on the 4th step, to the 5th step, then to the 4th, back on the 5th, and so on, in the first and all the following shots. Continuity mistake: When Ross arrives at the classroom late and out of breath, he tosses his jacket at the hook, but it falls to the floor, and he walks behind the desk anyway. In the next wideshot of the class, as Ross still stands behind the desk, the coat is up on the hook. (Viewed on broadcast TV as a rerun, so there may be a missing shot that was removed for extra commercial time.). (00:07:05)

Continuity mistake: When Pippin lights the beacon of Minas Tirith, the soldiers outpost and surrounding mountainside terrain differs between the close-up and wide shots. (01:05:00)

Continuity mistake: As Frodo, Sam and Gollum begin to climb the stairs at Cirith Ungol, Sam asks, "Hey, what's in this tunnel?" then grabs Gollum and pushes him to the stone wall. In the wideshot, Gollum's back is noticeably up against a different part of the wall, than in the previous and following close-ups. (00:59:35)

Continuity mistake: There are trebuchets atop the walls of Minas Tirith; however, in the front wideshot (not side shots), as Faramir and the rest of the Gondorian soldiers ride towards Osgiliath, with Minas Tirith directly behind them, all the trebuchets are gone. (01:31:10)

Continuity mistake: When Aragorn shouts for Legolas, he turns to see the Mûmak heading towards him and the mountainside to the right of Minas Tirith is gone, though it should be visible at this angle, such as when earlier, as the Corsair ships arrive, that mountainside is visible in the wideshot facing Minas Tirith. Continuity mistake: After Éowyn stabs the Witch King, in the two wideshots as he withers away, Merry has his head turned to his left as he watches. However, in Merry's close-ups his body is turned the other way and his head is turned to his right, as he watches the Witch King disappear. (00:40:30)

Continuity mistake: When Skully, the Orc lieutenant, shouts, "Come on, you sea rats. Get off your ships," the Corsair ship docks and the six mooring pilings are on top of the raised edge of the dock. However, in the following shots all the pilings are located on the ground beside the raised edge. (00:39:30)

Continuity mistake: When Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli arrive, the Corsair ship has significant differences between the close-ups and wideshots. For instance, in Aragorn's close-up as he leaps over the ship's rail, there is a wide link chain running across the top of the rail that is gone in the wideshots. (00:39:35)
