The Night Clerk (2020)

Character mistake: Several police officers are outside the hotel looking for evidence. Inside the room where the murder occurred, other officers/detectives are looking around. None of them are wearing gloves or shoe covers. The hotel manager is the one who found the camera card - even though Det Espada should not have allowed him in the room during the investigation and police should have found it the first day. Det Espada handles the camera card without wearing gloves. Det Espada did not secure the crime scene. (00:35:50)

The Night Clerk (2020)

Audio problem: When Bart is looking through a magazine and starts to rip a page out, the whole page is lifted and obviously already loose; Bart sets it down to look like he is tearing it out, and sound effects are added to make it appear he really is ripping out the page, but the sounds don't really match his motions. The Night Clerk (2020)

Other mistake: The woman who checked into the Mercer hotel said she thought the reservation was under "Perratti." Bart initially gave her Room 109, but switched to Room 124 - where he had hidden cameras - saying the room was nicer and had French doors that gave access to the pool area. The woman's husband, expecting to meet his mistress, went to the French doors and knocked to get inside. He should have gone to the room that was initially assigned because he could not have known Bart switched to Room 124. (00:08:52 - 00:10:05)

The Night Clerk (2020)

Character mistake: Bart is sitting on a bench outside the hotel. After Detective Espada talks to the Mercer hotel manager/owner, he goes to talk to Bart. Bart has blood on both hands and lower left sleeve. Detective Espada is supposed to be investigating a fresh murder case that puts Bart at the scene, but he does not confiscate Bart's bloody clothes, conduct a gun powder test on Bart's hands to check for residue, or take him to the police station for formal questioning. Espada did not follow police protocol. (00:17:36)

Lean on Pete (2017)

Trivia: Quarter horses, such as "Lean on Pete", are nicknamed "the world's fastest athletes" and are considered the world's most popular horse breed. They can (or should be able to) beat other breeds in quarter-mile (finished in 23 seconds) or shorter races. Speeds of 55 mph have been clocked - but only for short distances.

Lean on Pete (2017)

Continuity mistake: At the beginning of his jog, Charley picked up the cardboard that had fallen out of the recycle bin; the bin's side was positioned parallel to the driveway. When Charley returned from jogging, the recycle bin was closer to the house and turned about 90° (the side now facing the house). It was early morning and Charley was not gone very long, so the recycle bin should have been in the same position. (00:02:26 - 00:03:55)

Lean on Pete (2017)

Continuity mistake: In the opening inside scene, Charley is by the front door, wearing baggy oversized gray jogging shorts. The side pocket slits are partially open, the legs are wide enough to fit three or four of Charley's legs, and the excess material around the waist is bunched. When the camera shows Charley coming out the door, his jogging shorts are slimmer/ more form-fitting and look more navy (or a darker gray) than gray. During his jogging, his shorts turn baggier for a while, then return to a slim fit. (00:02:05)

Other mistake: Near the car crash site, Dylan is looking toward a large rock or Boulder that has a handprint made out of blood on it and apparently uses this as an indicator of what direction Mara went and then looks for her. However, Dylan could not possibly see the bloody handprint from where he was standing - the handprint is on the opposite side of the rock (visible to viewers). (00:33:14)

Other mistake: Mara has white shoe laces in her navy or black Converse high-tops. After the car crash and Mara gets out of the water, her shoe strings are dyed pink. Mara's white top has turned pink or magenta, supposedly from the blood getting diluted when she was trying to wash it off in the water. The shoe laces may give the impression that they, too, turned pink from diluted blood, but the pink or magenta color is not how diluted blood would look. Besides, the white soles and toe tips stay white. (00:31:00 - 00:34:12)

Other mistake: When Mara and Dylan are placed in isolation, there does not appear to be a plastic barrier between their beds (but one is visible a little later). Mara and Dylan's index fingers look like they are almost touching when Mara says "ET" and Dylan replies "Elliott", but the next view - from the front of both - their hands look about a foot or so apart and the plastic barrier is in place. Revealing mistake: In the car (and while it was raining), Jenna put on her sunglasses a little before Joe "exploded", suggesting she was preparing for the blood splattering. [Interestingly, Jenna put on the windshield wipers because she couldn't see out to drive, but the wipers were useless in that the blood was on the INSIDE of the windows!]. (00:31:45)

Other mistake: Interior views of Joe's car while he is driving Jenna and Mara to pick up the drugs are somewhat odd or awkward. The driver's seat is pushed back, leaving a lot of space to the steering wheel. When Jenna is getting into the driver's seat, the headrest (or back of seat?) is enlarged and tilted about 45° inward. When Joe put the wipers on, they appeared to be moving BEHIND the flowers which were dangling on the inside. The blood splattering from Joe wasn't as could be expected. (00:31:27 - 00:32:31)

Continuity mistake: The backgrounds visible while Joe is driving to get the drugs for Mara are inconsistent. There is or isn't rain on the windows and the foliage ranges from dense and green to sparse and orange/rust (Fall-like) coloring. (00:31:33 - 00:31:55)

Lean on Pete (2017)

Continuity mistake: Charley put the money he got paid for painting into the right front pocket of his pants, but he took it out of his left pocket when he was moving it into his sock/boot to hide from Silver in his trailer. (01:41:59 - 01:42:53)

Factual error: The force with which Paul thrust the knife into John's stomach, plus the amount of time that the knife was digging into John's stomach as Paul suspended him against the wall, would cause a severe, incapacitating injury - or death. John should have been rendered incapable of even crawling along the floor, but he managed to get up soon thereafter and chase/ fight with Paul in the woods. Miraculously, John also did not seek or undergo any treatment for the stab wound. (01:14:14)

Suggested correction: Whether he should have died is entirely dependent on if he hit any major arteries or organs. Being stabbed in the gut is not an instant death sentence. Additionally, he's running on adrenaline and shock... there have been numerous times someone has been shot or stabbed and been able to run away or fight back in real life. Also, he literally fainted before he could seek out medical treatment, so I'm not sure what your comment about "miraculously" not seeking medical treatment is about. That's 100% conjecture on your part. And conjecture based on no evidence is not a mistake. Obviously he was given medical treatment after he passed out.

Character mistake: John shot at the "werewolf" but wasn't successful in hitting it. Instead of pursuing the werewolf, who he supposedly was determined to catch, he let it run away. Alcoholic or not, a sheriff's deputy should have done everything possible to try to capture the creature that was terrorizing the small town. By not even attempting to follow the werewolf, John missed the one opportunity he - or anyone else - had thus far to potentially put an end to the senseless and tragic murders of young ladies. Suggested correction: Dude's daughter was attacked and bleeding from the head, of course he didn't pursue it.

Suggested correction: He didn't go after the wolf because his daughter was hurt, and his (albeit misguided) parental instincts took over. It's not at all a character mistake for him to prioritize making sure his daughter is all right over chasing a perp. Most parents would probably do the same thing.

Continuity mistake: The amount of "steam" on the inside of the Jeep's windows is inconsistent during Brock and Jenna's "make-out" scene. The front passenger side window is steamed largely in the center when Brock sees the woman trying to get his attention, but is completely covered in an instance before Jenna starts wiping it off to see outside. The driver's side window basically did the opposite - going from totally steamed to steamed only on the upper half when the "werewolf" was approaching the driver's door. (00:54:20 - 00:54:53)

Stupidity: When Liz sees the dead deer blocking her lane, instead of merely going around it (using the opposing lane on a rural road without jeopardizing her safety), she exits her vehicle - leaving her three-year-old daughter unattended in the back seat - to "look" at the deer. This furthers the plot by giving the "werewolf" opportunity to attack and kill her... as well as her daughter Miley. (00:42:35)
