For example, when Fareeda calls Charlie over and goes to hug him, her left hand and forearm quickly disappear into his mane and go too far in to be realistic. Factual error: The crow (mechanical at least in part) perching atop the dead tree lacked some details/behaviors that would've been displayed by a real crow. Its tail should have been thinner and longer (not short and wide, although they do fan). It would have repeatedly cawed upon noticing Geary and Fenn approaching to alert family members of potential danger. It would not have straightened its head to watch the men; the dominant eye would be used to see better (monocular vision is better than binocular). (00:04:40)

Continuity mistake: When Fenn finds the doll in the tree trunk cavity, shadows are cast in several different (contradictory) directions. If Fenn's shadow was in front of him, he was walking west toward the dead tree; north would be to his right. Examples: The tree's trunk and one branch were casting shadows to the south moments earlier and Geary and the tree were casting shadows to the northwest a little later. Geary's shadow was cast westward when Fenn took his photo with the doll. (00:04:28 - 00:06:47)

Continuity mistake: When the "kid" rolls off his sled into the snow, his sled is right behind him and about to hit the leg he was turning over in the air, but an aerial view shows the sled's tracks stop about 10' before the kid. In the aerial view, the sled is facing and headed toward the cliff, not ending up perpendicular to the cliff as the ground view show. Also from the aerial view, when the "kid" turns his leg around in the air, the sled is already stopped above, not about to ram him. (00:02:50)

Plot hole: Mike was given a conditional release from prison (on parole) and could be returned to prison if he violated the conditions of parole. Associating with known criminals, taking/ selling illegal drugs, domestic violence or other problems would constitute a violation. Mike assaulted and threatened Dahlia - more than enough "bad behavior" to get his parole revoked. Neither Dahlia nor Parker thought to report Mike to his parole officer. Character mistake: Detective King (?) told Mikey, "You're on probation. You got no rights." King knew Mikey had been in prison, so should have said, "You're on parole" (not probation). Although a layperson might use probation and parole interchangeably, an employee in the criminal justice system (such as a detective) should know the differences between the terms and use the right one. A parolee is given an early, conditional release from prison and has fewer "rights" than a probationer. (00:47:10)

Stupidity: Simon sees his wife has been killed by a dinosaur, so runs out of the shed and tells Mark to run. Simon gets Mark into the front seat and hears the T-Rex roaring nearby. Instead of getting into the car as fast as he can, Simon takes the time to buckle Mark's seat belt and tell him to "be brave for daddy" and "everything's going to be fine." Simon turns around when the T-Rex is next to the car and he tells Mark to close his eyes. Simon just stands there as the T-Rex gets closer, then eats him. (00:05:50 - 00:06:21)

Deliberate mistake: The prisoners in the dark dungeon would not be able to read the letter (to Miss Dudley from Jason Flemyng that the carrier pigeon had) or see such a clear reflection by pouring water on the stone floor and holding the letter (written backwards) by the water. The room was suddenly lighter when doing so, but it wasn't clear where the light was coming from. Also, sunlight coming through the small window would not beam straight down along the wall. Parker, though recently fired, is/was a social worker. Social workers are among the professions that have the greatest awareness of available community resources.
