Trivia: When Yelena is talking about Alexei wanting to relive his glory days as the Red Guardian, she sarcastically calls him Crimson Dynamo. In the comics, Crimson Dynamo is one of Iron Man's enemies. Ivan Vanko from Iron Man 2 was partly based on this character.

Trivia: In the comics, the Grandmaster has blue skin. Taika Waititi opted not to color Jeff Goldblum blue for this film since he already previously played a blue-skinned character in the film Earth Girls Are Easy. However, you can see Grandmaster's fingernails are painted blue, possibly as a reference to his comic counterpart.

Character mistake: A lawyer in an American court will object to part of a witness' testimony and when the judge sustains it, the lawyer does not move for the objectionable testimony to be stricken from the record. In real life, if a judge sustains a lawyer's objection to a testimony, the lawyer will request the testimony be stricken from the record, otherwise it will be fair game for the opposing counsel to refer back to that testimony later in the trial.
