Magnum, P.I. (1980)

Never Again... Never Again - S1-E7

Audio problem: The first time Magnum goes to the Honolulu hospital, the first sound in the building consists of an announcement; "Janet Clark, please report to Maternity, Janet Clark." The announcement is repeated throughout the scene Magnum is in the doctor's office at night, just as he switches off the lamp on top of the filing cabinet (by the life preserver), Janet Clark is paged in maternity again. Never Again... Never Again - S1-E7

Continuity mistake: After the cliffhanger with Higgins pointing his gun at someone and seemingly unaware that that someone has a backup, it's time to show Magnum again that is rushing back home saying in voiceover how worried he is. Slightly undermining the severity of the predicament is the fact that in that particular shot and just there, he's driving with no pants on. (00:28:50)

Never Again... Never Again - S1-E7

Audio problem: During the climax with Lena on the boat defending their action, from "They have no right to hunt us like animals" onwards the parts of dialogue with Hanna Landy are dubbed later and with a very inconsistent audio level. (00:45:40)

Never Again... Never Again - S1-E7

Continuity mistake: Rick and Magnum spot the ambulance carrying someone away from Saul's home, and so they run out of the car to check what happened. Rick does not shut the car door, they go then straight into the Greenbergs' house, but when they come out, the Ferrari has both doors closed. (00:10:45 - 00:11:50)

Never Again... Never Again - S1-E7

Revealing mistake: Magnum catches the boat that already sailed away through a great feat, leaping from the pier. The editing trick is fairly obvious; the stuntman's leap is not quite reaching, headed to a platform we can spot at the bottom. But it cuts then to Tom Selleck who with a true airwalking prodigy connects right with the top of the railing, pulling himself aboard. (00:43:25)

Never Again... Never Again - S1-E7

Audio problem: During the close-up of the photo held by Rick, Magnum's voice saying "Her right arm" is dubbed in with a marked difference from the rest of the conversation (added in post - perhaps to specify which arm, or originally the wrong one was mentioned and they corrected the mistake, but the artifact is strikingly noticeable). Magnum, P.I. (1980)

Never Again... Never Again - S1-E7

Revealing mistake: The day for night filming is particularly obvious at the entrance fence, and when the two mysterious guys try are kneeling outside of the house wondering how many people they have to deal with, with just 4 shots; you can see perfectly white clouds. It's even worse later in the episode when the Ferrari stops in front of the doctor's house; you can literally see the sun shine reflected by the car and the wet asphalt throughout the whole scene. Never Again... Never Again - S1-E7

Continuity mistake: When Magnum runs into Saul and Lena's home, the shadow of the hedge covers the whole steps. They stay inside less than a minute, and when Rick stands there wondering how's gonna break the news gently, the hedge shadow reaches barely half the width of the steps. (00:11:10)

Never Again... Never Again - S1-E7

Continuity mistake: When the Mercedes gets close to the shop (as the two occupants themselves say), it cuts to a closer angle, but the passersby change during this cut (the woman with a purple dress jumps 15 meters ahead, the people past the carpet store are different, etc). (00:03:30)

Skin Deep - S1-E6

Factual error: For the ballistic test, Higgins goes on to explain in great length that the shell contains 12 pellets, but when he displays the effect on the second target, it's blatant that there are way more than 12 holes in it - and the way the test is done, it is specified that it is the result of a single shell being fired. Incidentally, there are also more pellets than what Higgins states when he empties the shell initially -14 instead of 12 - but this last detail realistically can be assessed only if you pause. Other mistake: Erin at the beginning of the episode records her acting using a camera on a fixed support. She gets interrupted once. She resumes then. The camera angle is different, and then simply changes (as it's made clear by Magnum rewatching later the actual tape) without anyone else operating the camera.

Character mistake: When TC is calling help on the radio, he is wearing the team ring upside down (with the double arms of the cross of Lorraine pointing away from him). (00:42:20)

Trivia: Magnum gets information from the chopper driver saying he's "McGarrett from Five-0", in an obvious reference to the other iconic show set in Hawaii. (00:36:20)

Skin Deep - S1-E6

Character mistake: TC calls for help on the radio transmitting his distress signal with "This is Bravo Fower One Six", and then he shoots the rocket with his chopper's identification N58243 in plain sight (none of it matching B416). (00:42:20)
