Question: I'm confused about how Snow White is Wendell's grandmother. The queen mentions her wedding, but Wolf says that dwarves brought her body to the hill in Kissingtown, in case a prince can wake her. She must have gotten married and had a child if Wendell is her grandson, so why is her body still at the hill?
Answer: The dwarves brought her to Kissingtown after she ate the poisoned apple the queen gave her to wait for a prince to come and save her. It's only after she is kissed that she awakens, marries the prince and then has her children. The scene with Virginia in the cave is a vision and not real. Snow White (or her ghost in fairy godmother form as she called it) is there to help Virginia stay strong and complete her journey by giving her advice and help.
Question: What happened to the Russian camp after Irina Spalko was killed?
Question: It takes Galloway's chute a full 5 seconds to deploy from the time he pulls the cord, until he is swept out of the military plane. Do parachutes usually take so long to deploy?
Answer: The average time for a parachute to deploy is 3-5 seconds. depending on how it is folded in the pack.
Question: All through the movie where the subtitles appear, the translation changes from scene to scene. In the movie "Oui" is sometimes translated as "Yes"; sometimes as "Oui". Same thing goes for other French words that switch translation with either the same French word or English. What's up with that?
Chosen answer: This is done as an inside joke. Oui is well known as yes, so no need for translation.
Question: In the bar scene, after Marty asks for a Pepsi Free, the barman tells him that "You want a Pepsi, pal, you're going to pay for it". I know there is a reason for it, but isn't it obvious that if Marty wants a Pepsi he must pay for it?
Chosen answer: The counterman had never heard of Pepsi Free as it didn't exist yet. He therefore assumed that Marty was asking for a Pepsi Cola free of charge. Also, Biff and his cronies frequent this bar. The counterman might have assumed that Marty was some snot nosed punk that thought he could bluff his way into free drinks.
Question: Why did the Kraken die (or was it killed)? Does it have anything to do with Jack Sparrow walking into it with the cutlass in the 2nd movie? Or Beckett's conquering Davy Jones?
Chosen answer: Beckett ordered Jones to kill the Kraken. No exact reason is ever specified, although it's suggested that it was, at least in part, to teach Jones a lesson about obedience. It also seems fair to say that Beckett was thinking ahead, depriving Jones of his most powerful weapon in case Jones ever managed to break free of his control.
Question: Why wasn't it acceptable for Marie to breastfeed her daughter?
Answer: It was typical for royalty and the aristocracy to remain extremely "hands off" regarding child rearing. Nannies, wet nurses, and tutors tended to all their offsprings' needs, and parents usually spent relatively little time with their children. It would be considered extremely odd for a queen to engage in something so personal and common as breastfeeding her child.
Question: Is it true that Keira Knightly almost played Padme in this movie and Episode III, because Natalie Portman didn't want to do it anymore?
Answer: No. All the main actors were contractually obliged to do all three prequel movies.
Question: What does the Phantom mean when he refers to Raoul as a "slave of fashion" (in the scene before the "Phantom of the Opera" song)?
Question: What are the name of the 2 songs Tom Cruise is dancing to in this movie?
Chosen answer: The first is "Low" by Flo Rida and the last is "Get Back" by Ludacris. both songs are on the Tropic Thunder soundtrack.
Question: Does anyone know if the Skorponok that attacks Jetfire is supposed to be the same one from Blackout or a new one (from, say, Grindor)?
Answer: According to the filmmakers, yes, this is the same one back from the previous film, who's been hiding out in the desert repairing himself in the interim.
Question: I'm trying to find a specific part of a scene. All I can remember is the background is a forest-type set with possibly ruins or stairs. The four hobbits are there, but they're in their normal street attire. Any help would be appreciated as to which scene this shot is located.
Chosen answer: It sounds like a scene in "Return of the King" in the extended version, but it was the TWO hobbits (Merry and Pippin). Frodo & Samwise are still in Mordor trying to destroy the ring. The scene I think you're imagining is where Gandalf and gang come upon the destroyed Two Towers and find Pippin and Merry smoking pipes while sitting on a destroyed tower next to the forest. Hope that helps.
Question: How come Stephanie wasn't very friendly towards Michael, but at the end she was happy it was him, as the mystery motorcycle guy? Did she always like him?
Answer: Quite simple, really. Michael (as Michael the student) is preceived as a geek/loser at school and is consequently snubbed by the local girls. As "The Motorcycle Mystery Guy" he is cool, hip, dangerous, and the object of all the girls desire. Stephanie sorta likes Michael because he's easy to talk to and he understands her feelings. It's easy to see that when she finds out Michael & the Motorcycle Guy are one in the same, she's ecstatic!
Question: At the beginning of the movie, when Lincoln wakes up, he removes something from his ID bracelet. What is this and what significance does it have?
Chosen answer: It appears to be some sort of cable - it can be seen leading to the bracelet in the shot from above the bed immediately prior to the one where Lincoln unplugs it. Exactly what it does is never revealed, but it seems likely to be some sort of monitoring system, keeping an eye on Lincoln's health through sensors in the bracelet.
Question: I previously posted a question about Dean's charm on his necklace. I'd like to know what it is, not how he got it. Thanks.
Chosen answer: The charm is a male head with bullhorns. In an interview Jensen Ackles claimed that it was an Egyptian protective amulet; however, Egyptian deities are customarily portrayed as having animal heads on human bodies. The bull-man is a demon from Mesopotamian mythology, where he is a protective force against evil and appears as an attendant of the sun god (Samash). His body is human above the waist, and he also has the ears and horns of a bull.
Question: Bumblebee started talking at the end of first movie, so why doesn't he talk in this sequel?
Chosen answer: Sam says in the film that Bumblebee is milking it. Mikala asks if he is still having voice trouble so maybe he can only talk for a while before he can't talk again.
Question: When they rent the villa for the night Stu pays $4200 for it without any fuss, suggesting money is no problem for him. However, when he finds a receipt for $800 from the casino the day after their wild night, he panics, acting like it's a huge amount. Why did spending $4200 not bother him, but $800 did?
Answer: When they check in, he doesn't actually pay for the villa. As the receptionist said, it was just a copy of the card for security, and they can choose how to pay for the stay upon checkout. At some point in the movie he mentions that his girlfriend checks his credit card statements. This is why he panics at the $800, because she's likely to find it. The copy of the card for the hotel stay does not appear on any statements unless that particular card is used upon checkout.
Question: The timing of the Beast's curse has always confused me. The movie states he has until the rose wilts completely to break the spell, and that said rose will bloom until his twenty first year. So was the Beast's deadline his 21st birthday or would the rose begin to wilt on his 21st birthday and he would then have only a little under a year (judging from how much time appears to pass in the film) till all the petals fell off?
Answer: The Rose started wilting at The Beast's 21st birthday and could have presumably started wilting years before the first time we saw a petal fall off. Given the fact that Lumiere stated that they were living with the curse for 10 years, prince Adam could be 23-24 years old at the time of the original movie,13-14 at the time of the curse, and the Rose could have been wilting for two to three years. This is my best guess given the approximate age of Prince Adam in the ripped up portrait before he was the Beast.
Answer: I would assume it would be until his 21st birthday, as that is really the 21st year since his birth. After his 21st birthday he'd be older than 21.
