Question: When they get the injured Grace to the Tree of Souls, she's naked, just covered in vines. How did they get those plants to cover her and hold onto her like that? And why use plants, and not common human underwear? And come to think of it, why does she need to be naked in the first place? Sure, the roots need to access her body, but wouldn't it do to just access her head?

Question: Can someone tell me if I'm interpreting this correctly? When Katie changes her mind about fleeing the house and is found clutching a cross with blood on her hand and leg, Micah takes it and burns it, after which she becomes possessed. Was she successfully warding off the demon with the cross and clutching it so desperately that it made her hand bleed, and then Micah wrongly thought it was being used to attack her and inadvertently made her possession a done deal by burning it?
Answer: The screenwriter confirms in the commentary that burning the cross and picture was a mistake because it was the last defence they had.
Question: This has a always perplexed me about Ocean's Thirteen and the egg. Danny/Rusty already had the real egg before Toulour got to the museum. So when Matt Damon and Julia Roberts went into the museum, they were actually trying to steal the fake egg. But when Matt Damon did the switcheroo and took the fake egg and placed the hologram on the pedestal, that meant there really was no egg there. So when Toulour went in to steal the egg, what could he have stolen?
Chosen answer: They never did make the switch at the museum. They'd already switched the egg before it ever got to the museum, so either way, Toulour was going to be stealing a copy. The reason they continued to keep up the act that they were trying to steal the egg was because they needed to string Toulour along just as LeMarque tells them in the flashback toward the end of the movie.
Question: Brad Pitt's character, Aldo Raine, has a scar on his neck, which is very visible in the first scene where he's talking to the Basterds. He says later in the movie that he was a bootlegger in his home state of Tennessee. Is the scar from a failed attempt to execute him by hanging?
Answer: According to the IMDb trivia on the film, yes.
Question: What is the function of Rachel's/Monica's guest room's wall across the door? Isn't it just annoying to get in? I also noticed that there's a screen across Monica's door. Why are these here?
Chosen answer: This has been mentioned before. The wall and the screen serve no purpose other than to block the audience's view into the bedrooms from the living room. When the storyline does not require the characters to be in the bedrooms, then the stage area next to the living room is the Central Perk set, which the viewer is, of course, not supposed to see.
Question: What do they need masks for when Pandora has enough oxygen to sustain fire?
Question: When Neytiri's father dies, he gives her his bow. Does that make Neytiri the chief? Or is Tsu'tey the chief now? And who's the chief after Tsu'tey dies? I read somewhere that Jake has got the face markings of a chief in one of the final scenes, suggesting he's the new leader. Though that seems a bit weird, given his lack of experience.
Chosen answer: After the death of Eytucan, Tsu'tey becomes the chief - he was established as chief-in-waiting earlier in the film. After Tsu'tey is killed, the implication is that Jake becomes the new leader - while, yes, he lacks experience, he nevertheless has the respect of the clan for his taming of the Toruk and his role in subsequent events. Also, bear in mind that the Pandoran wildlife entered the battle en masse, something that Neytiri interpreted as Eywa, the Na'vi deity, answering Jake's pre-battle prayer. Between his status as Toruk rider, his actions in the battle and his apparent endorsement by Eywa, that would be more than enough for the highly spiritual Na'vi clan to make Jake their new leader.
Question: Was anything actually wrong with Forrest mentally? Is is possible that he was "normal" but had just been sheltered, hadn't socialized with any kids at a normal age, etc.? In addition to the IQ test from the school, Forrest's mother apparently hid things from him or lied. She did not tell him what "vacation" really means.
Answer: Gump is stated, in the book at least (can't honestly remember about the film) to have an IQ of around 75. While IQ ranges are somewhat subjective, this would usually be considered to indicate a mild or borderline mental deficiency. It also certainly wouldn't have helped that he's been relatively sheltered.
Answer: 8 minutes into the movie, the principle shows his mother a chart of IQ's and points to Gump's IQ being 75.
I know, but I was considering how his mother has sheltered him. His low score could be partially due to her not always giving him accurate information. For example, she told him that "vacation" means "you go somewhere, and you don't ever come back." Maybe his test results were low because of her sheltering; at least partially.
Question: Something I read on Wikipedia made me wonder: were all six seasons planned out together in advance, or did each season develop naturally as it progressed?
Chosen answer: While there has been a certain amount of development as the series has gone along, the creators have repeatedly stated that the basic mythology and major plot points for the show's intended run were put in place from the beginning.
Question: Does young Forrest start school a couple of years later than the other children shown on the bus? He appears to be older than five or six, the age when most kids go to kindergarten and first grade.
Answer: He starts some time later than the other children, since the principal won't let him in school until he sleeps with his mother. We're not told how much time passes before this happens, so it could be a year or more. Kindergarten is optional in the US. A school in the Deep South in the 1950s may not have even offered a Kindergarten, so Forrest would be going into 1st Grade, probably a bit older than the other kids.
Question: Do we ever find out what the rash was on that guy? And why it was spreading so badly.
Question: Is there a reason why when they're in the past they can't catch up with the present, but when they land a little into the future, the present can catch up with them? Are they not moving along on their own timeline? And if not, why are they not left in that moment and stand there to see the present come and go without taking them?
Answer: Think of time as a gear with only one tooth, and think of them as a gear with only one notch. In the past, the one tooth has forever passed their notch and they'll never be carried along in the flow of time again. In the future, the tooth comes along, snags their notch, and they're back in the flow of time.
Question: In the scene where the T-Rex attacks, Lex takes a flashlight from the back seat and flashes it at the dinosaur! The T-Rex then attacks the kids in the car. Why did she take the flashlight out and get the dinosaur's attention?
Chosen answer: She's just a kid, the eldest thinking shes doing the right thing. She hasn't grasped that the T-Rex will now home in on them until it's too late. She didn't deliberately try to get the T-Rex's attention.
Answer: She wasn't trying to get the Rex's attention, she got scared as she's just a kid and was trying to signal the other car in the hopes that Dr Grant could do something.
Question: At the end, when Batgirl punches Poison Ivy, making her fall into that huge plant, why did it curl up and capture her, when it's her plant and she can control it?
Chosen answer: Even the greatest animal trainers still get mauled sometimes (i.e. Siegfried and Roy). It's quite likely that the plant didn't turn down a possible meal when she literally fell into its mouth.
Mr. Monk and the Employee of the Month - S3-E7
Question: When Mr Monk is talking to the two male incompetent employees (I forget their names), one of them said that "two guys came out of nowhere and started pounding on me". Having seen the rest of the episode, it didn't explain why they did this. Does anyone know?
Answer: They appeared from out of nowhere is referring to them appearing from under the van i.e. the sewer. And beating him is to scare him from future hangouts in the parking lot so that he would not recognize them as they'd leave the sewer again.
Chosen answer: The 2 men that beat up the guy were working with the other girl. They beat up the guy to try and either discourage him from getting the employee of the month or just scare him off altogether.
Question: I used to have a VHS version of this movie - I don't remember if it was the original or restored version. On the VHS, when Vader mentally speaks to Luke after the fight on Bespin, Luke calls him "Father" (before trying to talk to Obi-wan). Am I just remembering wrong, or did he really say that? If so, does anyone know why it was removed on the DVD?
Question: When Dodd takes the central cup link out and he takes it back, it wouldn't fix everything would it? I mean, he did take all the wires and everything else out.
Chosen answer: It was one of the few things that could be fixed right then and there, and, although it wouldn't solve all problems, it's better than nothing.
Question: This movie left me with more questions than answers. Even after watching it more than once. 1.) Was the fake wall built during the robbery or before? If it was built before, how was this done without the bank employees knowing about it? 2.) What was the purpose of the hole they dug in the floor? I thought this was where they stored the diamonds, but Clive would have had to tear up the floor and dig them up again later, which doesn't make sense. Why couldn't Clive have just brought the diamonds with him behind the wall during the escape? 3.) Wouldn't it have made sense to give each person who came out of the bank a lie detector test to try and weed out the ones who may have been involved? I realize that those tests are voluntary, so that in itself may have helped the police.
Answer: (1) The fake wall was constructed during the robbery - that's why they dragged things out, to give them time to finish the job. (2) The hole in the floor is so that Russell has somewhere to go to the toilet, serving the dual purpose that (a) he doesn't have to sit among piles of his own excrement for a week and (b) no unpleasant smell will build up in the storeroom, which could lead to his discovery. (3) Polygraph tests are notoriously unreliable and can be defeated by a suitably disciplined individual. As a result, the NYPD do not use them as a matter of policy. Even if, in this fictional storyline, they did, the unreliability of the tests and their tendency to give false positives is sufficiently well-known that it's likely that many of the witnesses might refuse to avoid the possibility of being incorrectly incriminated by a bad reading. So it wouldn't be likely to help them much anyway and could actively harm their case if it indicated somebody innocent.
Question: Why are humans unable to breathe the air on Pandora? A lack of oxygen seems plausible, but then the fires which erupt during the Hometree bombing wouldn't be sustained.
Answer: Couple of possible reasons. (1) There is oxygen, hence the fires, but it's got something toxic mixed in with it. (2) It's not oxygen, but another gas capable of allowing combustion to occur. Either way, humans couldn't breathe it.
