Question: Why was Sierra Six imprisoned for killing his father when the father was abusive and at times nearly killed both him and his brother? Why wasn't he considered a hero for his actions?

Cody Fairless-Lee

Question: Although I enjoy the game of ice hockey, I still haven't fully understood the tactics teams have. Having said that, what is the tactics of putting 2 heavy enforcers in Fulton Reed and Dean Portman on the same line? Wouldn't it be better if they were on separate lines throughout the games, having at least one heavy hitting enforcer on the ice longer than 2 on the same line that I've noticed in the movies?

oobs

Answer: There may be a number of reasons, but the most likely is that, if players work really well together, it makes sense to have them on the same line, regardless if they are both enforcers or not. To give an example, the 1990s Detroit Red Wings had the "Grind Line", which consisted of three forwards who were all known for their aggressive, physical style. The two wingers in particular were team enforcers. They meshed so well as a unit it wouldn't have been as effective to split them onto different lines, just to provide an enforcer to each. The combination of all three on one line worked very well, and other teams copied the format, though of course it was not unique to this team (see, for example, the Philadelphia Flyers' Legion of Doom).

Question: Why did the tech company that manufactured David stay based in Manhattan? Considering that it's flooded. Seems a little impractical.

Jack Vaughan

Answer: The owner/inventor of the company may have kept the doors open in Manhattan to see if any of his products would return 'home'. He seemed to be very pleased that David had returned and was interested in finding out why. I got the feeling the AI's creator was hoping for a sign that the instinct to return was something novel and not just a predictable result of their original programming.

Question: Silver tells Chozen he's never had any children himself. If that's the case, then how are people calling Snake from part 3 Silver's son?

lartaker1975

Answer: I've seen the 1989 movie many times and never once did Silver ever present Snake as his "son." Snake and Dennis were two young men who simply worked for and/or lived with Silver and only called "the boys" when Mike first arrived.

I never said it was said in the movie. I said people are saying it. Social media. Etc.

lartaker1975

Simple, people don't know anything and assume baseless things for absolutely no reason.

Answer: When the movie came out in '89, it was revealed that the director's son had a part written just for him as the villain's son, and he would be called Snake. This relationship, however, was never addressed in the film itself and Snake just became a member of the house staff for Silver.

Question: How did the Cadillac get from Clyde's mansion to the abandoned garage?

Question: How the did the elders (and later, Noah) create those animalistic "grunt" sounds that the "creatures" supposedly were making?

Answer: The elders never explained how they made the grunt sounds.

Question: How fast and strong is Morbius and how can he fly, since he doesn't have the wings of a bat?

Question: How does Sarah know the precise date when Judgment Day will occur? Kyle never told her that in the first film.

MrMovieBuff

Chosen answer: There's always the possibility that Kyle told Sarah the date of Judgment Day offscreen.

Answer: He was a hard drinker who did not take her sobriety seriously, and she realised he was not good for her.

Brian Katcher

Question: How did all the characters trapped in the compartments managed to be freed from the flood control barriers? The footage of that happening is never shown.

Question: I'm trying to figure out if the book Dodge is reading on the way to find the ghost ship is real. It says "A Conspiracy of Evil" on the cover.

Answer: Yes. It is real. You can find a copy on Amazon.

I have searched but his book cover says "a conspiracy of evil genius" - can't find it.

I haven't found the book yet and the original answer comes across as someone who did a quick Google search without knowing what he or she found. As you said the title looks like it contains "genius" and "A Conspiracy of Evil" found on Amazon was published in 2018. And "The Conspiracy of Evil", about Osiris, was published in 2006.

Bishop73

Question: When Lee is fighting all the henchmen on the scaffolds at the beginning of the movie, when he ties one of them up using laundry that was hanging. He apologized to the man and his wife, what did the man say back?

Question: How did Hugo Strange find out that Bruce is really Batman?

Answer: Listen to the fourth Riddler interview tape. He did a psychological profile of Batman, then picked among candidates as to who could be Batman. He's also smart enough to realize only a rich man could afford all of Batman's gear and vehicles.

Rob245

Question: At the end after Clark tells the Mayor the state can go to Hell, it seems like there was a cut scene. Clark tells the students that he was not going anywhere. They then show scattered cheering before Clark ask the students, "Are you ready, maestro?" without any lead-in. Was there a deleted scene to describe what appears to be this gap?

lartaker1975

Answer: He actually said "are you ready my Ghosts (not Maestro)", but what I wondered is how he was able to just walk away after he was arrested.

Question: It seems like there's some stuff cut out of the scene where Wayne and Garth meet the cop outside the donut shop. He stops them for some unsaid reason, then flips a coin at the end. What does any of this mean? Does he just get charmed and distracted by them?

Answer: It was just establishing that Wayne and his crew were friendly with Officer Koharski. They cut their conversation short because they were afraid Phil was about to throw up and needed to get him a cup of coffee.

Brian Katcher

Before Phil gets sick, they're just having a conversation. After it cuts from Phil, Koharski is suddenly holding a quarter in between his fingers. There seems to be a scene cut before they see Phil get sick to explain where the quarter came from. (Like if I had to guess, does Koharski pull out the quarter to show what he found in the cavity search?) That's what the question is asking, not is there a scene cut after Phil gets sick to explain why Koharski just walks away.

Bishop73

Answer: Dementia, Alzheimers, mini strokes to the brain. Take your pick.

Question: How did the wrecked train get in the desert?

Answer: It was established that railroad tracks were put through the desert. Probably a shortcut to save time or it was the only area they were allowed to build. Land deals, claim jumping and protected grounds were a big part of where tracks could be laid. It was after the train disaster that the tracks were discontinued.

Question: When they run out of fuel in the plane, he says "there's nowhere to land." Why not land on the perfectly flat and smooth road they subsequently drive off on, which would have been obvious?

Answer: Posted as a mistake and corrected, answering this question: Corrected entry: After the plane runs out of fuel, Bond says "there's no place to put down." They then get into the jeep and out of the plane in a complex move, ending up on a huge flat desert, right next to a long straight road... Correction: A road like that would probably not support the plane's weight, and a sandy desert is NOT a good place to put down, as the wheels would sink quickly in the sand, probably causing the plane to cartwheel. Planes of that size take a very long taxi when landing, and even if the road could support the weight, it would need an uninterrupted length of smooth pavement to make a landing. It's one reason even pilots in small aircraft rarely land on a road, but in a field or something nearby a road. Most roads also have wires, poles, etc along the sides, which a plane could very well be destroyed from. Wires are not visible at altitude, thus roads are not necessarily the best place to try to land in an emergency.

Question: How did the girls survive for five whole years in an abandoned house in the woods? Did Mama help them to survive by giving them things to eat like cherries?

Answer: I'm pretty sure that they ate cherries because of all the pits shown when the two men enter the house. They probably ate other things as well because Lily is shown eating a moth in one scene.

Answer: Yes, Mama kept them alive. We see a wild apple rolling across to the floor to the huddled girls, implying that Mama gave it to them, and would have continued to give them forest fruits. She undoubtedly also showed them where to find water.

Purple_Girl

Question: Albeit hesitant, Marty the bus driver hands over his jacket and pants to Owen, but gets defensive when Owen asks for his hat and says "My hat?! Why my hat?! What is so special about a hat? I feel Marty should have been more hesitant about handing over his pants than a silly hat?

Answer: The hat is like a trophy for the bus driver.
