Seasickness: Kill or Cure - S3-E24

Question: It has already been proven that if you put your finger in a shotgun barrel you will lose your hand. Would you also lose your hand if you put your finger in a pistol barrel?

Answer: No. You would definitely lose a finger or 2 though. A shotgun has a wide barrel compared to a pistol.

stiiggy

Answer: The barrel can get hot if it is fired quickly. Revolvers allow hot gasses to escape from the front of the cylinder so you should keep your hand way from the gap. But if the barrel is not too hot and you keep your hand away from anything it should not be near, just touching the barrel will not hurt your hand.

I meant would a blast from a pistol firing blow off your hand as a blast from a shotgun firing?

Question: How come Scott didn't fly out of the sled like Toy Santa did when the sleigh hit the stairs? Toy Santa probably weighs more than Scott.

Answer: Because he put his foot out on the sled to brace himself.

Question: Why does everyone think Street turned in Gamble? Wouldn't he be back actually working SWAT instead of being stuck in the gun cage?

Answer: The SWAT Captain originally kicked Street and Gamble off the team and out of the SWAT Division completely for disobeying orders resulting in a hostage being shot. The SWAT Lieutenant convinced the Captain to keep the two officers in the division on a probationary basis to work back towards getting back on the team. Gamble was insulted by the probationary assignment and later resigned. The Captain offered Street the chance for immediate reinstatement to the team if he placed all blame on Gamble. When Street chose the probationary assignment over blaming Gamble or resigning alongside Gamble, everyone assumed Street cut some type of deal to remain in the SWAT Division without knowing the whole story.

Question: Rey is owned by Unkar Plutt before she leaves Jakku with Finn. Does she not have a slave transmitter?

Answer: Nothing in the film indicates she's a slave so much as she's just been left with and works under him. She's more an unwilling laborer than an overt "slave" (so perhaps something like an indentured servant), since it seems she's under the impression she'll be free to leave when her family comes back.

Answer: Rey is not a slave. She lives on her own and is able to use weaponry and vehicles. We see that she scavenges parts from the Star Destroyer to sell to Unkarr Plutt for food. She depends on him for food and some measure of security, but doesn't belong to him.

Question: How come it's called the battle of the five armies? 1. Humans 2. Orcs 3. Elves 4. Dwarfs 5....?

John Edther

Answer: In the book it was Goblins and Wild Wolves on one side and Elves, Men, and Dwarves on the other side. In the film the 5 armies would be Elves, Men, Dwarves, Orcs from Dol Guldur, and Orcs and Goblins from Gundabad.

Bishop73

Answer: As per the book, it is Men, Elves and Dwarves versus the Orcs and the Wargs + Bats who were numerous enough to be their own army. The Eagles and Beorn arrived but were not armies.

Answer: Eagles.

Question: What is in the bottle that Roxie pays for while she's in jail before she does her hair?

Answer: Given that in the next scene, Roxie presents herself with a newly dyed platinum blonde hairstyle, it's a safe bet that the bottle was hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide was the most commonly used hair bleaching agent during the 1920's, when the story of Chicago takes place.

Michael Albert

Answer: He is given what it known as "last billing" (which you see as "and George Kennedy). Nowadays it can also be referred to as "special billing." This is typically done for more famous actors who are playing a smaller role, or in this case a non-titular character. It was done on purpose and most likely as part of his agent's negotiation with the film studio.

Bishop73

Question: Who was the man shot by Gerrard in the house after Richard went in the woman's car for a ride?

Answer: That's Copeland, the other fugitive besides Richard Kimble.

Crew was dead He killed a tourist, too. Got his clothes, cash By now he could be anywhere. - He won't come after me. Oh, really? - He won't. I can't explain it. He would consider that rude.

Question: After Edward saves Bella from a car crash, she sees him, Carlisle, and Rosalie talking in the hospital. What were they saying? I heard some of the words but not all.

aliadms

Chosen answer: Basically, Rosalie is complaining that Edward having saved Bella by stopping the truck with his hand has risked him exposing their family as vampires. Edward responds saying what else could he have done and should he have just stood by and let Bella die. Rosalie thinks he should have if it protected the family. Carlisle then says they need to move the conversation to his office when he notices Bella watching them.

Question: At the end of the movie Finn opens a drawer to get a blanket for Rose. My husband thought he saw the sacred Jedi books in that drawer. Could that be true?

Answer: Yes Rey takes the books. That is why Yoda says that there is nothing in the books that she does not already know.

Actually, what Yoda says is that there's nothing in there (the sacred place) that Rey doesn't already possess. At the time it's assumed he's being somewhat mystical about her being about to learn without the teachings. But as we see with that scene at the end, what he meant was she took the books with her.

Question: When JP is taking a bath in the jail, his leg is propped up out of the water. It reveals a significant ankle injury. From what?

Answer: Earlier in the movie, Colt and Mississippi are doing a nighttime patrol of the town, when men on horses charge at them. There is a shoot out and JP comes running to help. He gets shot in the leg.

That did not address the ankle injury. It looks badly bruised not a gun shot. Can you tell what happened?

Question: What is the little tune that R2 whistles after Anakin lands Grievous' ship?

Answer: R2 is quiet during the landing.

Answer: There is a little bit more to it. There is a scene in the Extended Edition of the second movie where Faramir flashes back to when he and Boromir successfully reclaimed Osgiliath from the forces of Mordor, and in the celebration afterwards, they are approached by Denethor, who informs Boromir of the Council of Elrond and that he suspects it's about the Ring. Denethor wants Boromir to get the ring and bring it to Gondor, to use it. That is why he is so hell-bent on leading the Fellowship past Minas Tirith: he wants to take the ring there.

Friso94

Chosen answer: No. He joined the Fellowship to help destroy the ring, but he did not have enough willpower to resist its call. He thought he could then use that power to defeat the enemies of Gondor.

Answer: Initially the Fellowship was meant to accompany Frodo to the south, with Gimli and Legolas branching off to go home and then Aragorn with Boromir headed for Minas Tirith. As the journey continued the band bonded and after Gandalf went down with the Balrog priorities shifted; Aragorn and Legolas now wanted to go to Minas Tirith with Boromir with Gimli wanting to go with the Hobbits. Boromir was haunted by his dedication to his father and his city throughout, something Galadriel noted when they met. We get a better view of this in the Two Towers; Faramir warns Frodo that if they went to Minas Tirith with Boromir they would not recognize that Boromir, who was tempted with the Ring in a way his brother was able to resist. Boromir did not want to take the ring initially but his lack of options made him want it at last, leading to Frodo abandoning everyone.

Question: What was the significance of the father being an absentee dad? Did that make Reagan more vulnerable to being possessed?

Answer: The demon wants everyone to lose hope for the girl and give up on her. Her father, having already flown the coop, just makes this goal that much easier.

TonyPH

Answer: It's possible it made her more vulnerable, but the mother, being a big movie star with an adolescent child would probably be divorced at this stage. It was more likely a literary choice by the author. Fewer characters make for a less complicated plot and eliminates the need to add an additional character who may not serve the story in a meaningful way.

raywest

Answer: As part of the alien takeover, they're suppressing any resistance and discussion of the plot. They know there's a group, led by the preacher, who are onto the conspiracy and that they're somewhere in the camp. They destroy the camp to disburse them and prevent word from getting out.
