Quantom X

Factual error: At the end of the bridge shoot out, Earl and Hank accidentally drive the van off the bridge and land in a garbage barge. This would not have happened, as at the time of this movie garbage barges were no longer used for transporting trash, to make LA a greener city. Mistake admitted to on DVD Commentary. (00:44:55)

Continuity mistake: While fighting for control of the vehicle, Hank and Earl lose control of the Driver's Ed car and plow through various obstacles. One shot shows them bust through a wooden fence. In the middle of that shot, you see the car's wheels stop turning while they are in mid air. Two shots later, before they hit the ground, both sets of wheels are spinning again. (00:40:00)

Visible crew/equipment: After Charlie is killed by Nash, it shows a shot of the van escaping out of the warehouse through the window that was separating Hank from his partner. Looking closely at the far left of the window, you can see the hands of a crew member reflected and moving around. (00:05:00)

Continuity mistake: When Hank and Charlie investigate the alarm in the start of the movie, they split up. Hank is shown going up a flight of stairs and has his gun and flashlight in the common position cops do when searching. Gun pointed forward with flashlight lying over, hands crossed. The very next shot shows Charlie passing a security monitor that has Hank on surveillance. Hanks' hands are now down at his sides. (00:03:20)

Continuity mistake: When Earl and Nash are fighting over the cliff, Nash tries to smash Earl's head by throwing a large concrete block at him. It sits there afterwards. You never see this block again in the spot they were fighting, not even when Hank drops the crane hook on the slab and launches Nash off it. The block should have been seen flying also. (01:18:45)

Continuity mistake: At the fort shoot out, Hank shoots at a S.W.A.T. vehicle and hits the driver. Two bullet holes are shown on the windshield. The very next shot shows the vehicle begin to crash, and the bullet holes are gone. (01:15:40)

Continuity mistake: After their tire is shot out, the van crashes through a big window. In the shot of it breaking through, you can see the van's headlights are off. Two shots later as it lands on its side and slides, one of the headlights is now on, and slowly fades off. (01:15:15)

Continuity mistake: During the old fort shoot out, Hank, Earl, and Washington are driving off in the white van. One of the S.W.A.T. team guys shoots their front right tire and it goes flat. The van then crashes through a big dirty window and lands on its side. Now the front right tire is no longer damaged. (01:15:10)

Revealing mistake: When the shoot out at the old fort begins, you see bullets hitting the walls left and right. Despite it being concrete, you can see some sort of pink powder in each of the bullet holes. (01:14:35)

Quantom X

Continuity mistake: When Hank and Earl are hanging on the back of the Big Red Truck and getting inside, the cars and scenery around them keeps changing wildly between shots. Cars, buildings, and locations change, appear, and disappear way too quickly for normal driving. (00:42:10)

Quantom X

Continuity mistake: On the bridge before Hank uses the cell phone he found from the robbery at the Coke factory, he says that yeah, he is threatening Earl. At that moment, the camera is looking at Hank with Earl next to him and shows only a white car coming along behind Hank. Then the shot cuts to show Earl with Hank next to him, and suddenly a black car appears passing them that we did not see coming in the previous shot. Similar mistakes of cars appearing and disappearing between shots riddles this scene all over. (00:35:15)

Character mistake: At the security guard graduation, the instructor opens a pouch of quarters and says to use that to call the cops when things get nasty. You don't need to put money in a pay phone to dial 911. (00:21:05)

Quantom X

Factual error: At the police chase training, Earl jumps out of his car and it crashes into some barrels, and causes a huge explosion. The police academy would not have had explosive barrels out on a car obstacle course like that, endangering their trainees. (00:09:45)

Quantom X

Factual error: Moments before Hank sees Charlie get shot, he tries to shoot through a window to get to him. The bullets have no effect, so he says, "It's bullet proof! I'm coming in!" He tries the door, and it's locked, so shoots the window again, having absolutely no effect. The glass would have at least cracked and shown signs of where the bullets were hitting. Even bullet proof glass is damaged by bullets. This glass was in perfect condition the whole time. (00:04:35)

Quantom X

Continuity mistake: Just after hearing about Charlie being shot at, Hank takes off to find a way to his partner. He shoots a window and jumps through it, landing on a U-Haul truck. As he does, there are hundreds of glass pieces falling with him like a shower onto the truck. It cuts to him rolling off the front of the truck, but you see no evidence of the glass that was falling with him. And then the next shot shows him hit the ground, and now there is glass there where it would have fallen off the truck. (00:04:10)

Factual error: When Hank and Charlie first arrive at the warehouse that is being robbed, they shine their spotlight on the opened door. They are shining it through a gate with bars. But in the shots showing the light on the door, there are now shadows cast by the gate. (00:02:25)

Continuity mistake: In the beginning scene, the thieves are pouring what appears to be liquid nitrogen on a lock. The camera slowly pans down as the liquid is splashing over it and you see steam bellowing away. The very instant the hammer comes on screen, you can tell it is a jump cut because suddenly the liquid just vanishes without a stop, and the steam is suddenly gone also. (00:00:45)

Argo (2012)

Continuity mistake: There is a scene after Tony came up with the idea for the fake movie and presented it to the CIA, where he is looking at papers under a magnifying glass. Tony is holding his cigarette in his left hand under the magnifying glass. The very next shot shows his face, and he suddenly has the cigarette in his mouth. Which he then removes with his right hand. The next shot shows it in his left hand again. (00:25:10)

Question: "I call it Earl Jr. Likes to hang out with Daddy." When Earl says this, he is referring to the gun he pulls out at the coke factory, and uses it throughout the movie. It is an awesome little gun, and appears to be an automatic pistol of some sorts and has a flashlight attached to the front. Does anybody know what kind of gun that is?

Quantom X

Chosen answer: Here is a description of the gun according to the IMDb: "Earl's automatic pistol, "Earl Jr.", is a Glock 17 converted to fire fully-automatic. Glock 18C's, as it was meant to portray, have a rate-of-fire selector switch on the slide." http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0271668/trivia.

Plot hole: When Astrid gets on Toothless for the first time, Toothless takes off uncontrollably and tries to scare her. Hiccup seems to have no control over him at this time. How is that so if with the new tail fin, Toothless cannot fly without Hiccup's precise control of the tail fin? That whole sequence would have fallen apart. This mistake was even admitted to on the DVD commentary. (00:53:35)
