Labyrinth (1986)

Labyrinth mistake picture

Continuity mistake: During 'Dance Magic Dance,' when Jareth sings "Then baby said...," behind him, beside the large clock, there is an axe leaning against the wall. In the following overhead shot it has gone. In addition, a large dancing goblin, wearing an all black outfit appears in front of the large clock between the same two shots. (00:22:55)

Suggested correction: Top picture: If you look just to the left of the circled goblin's left shoulder, you can see the hand of the other goblin holding the axe in question, clad in green. Lower picture: You can see the handle to the axe still next to the goblin in question's feet, and the blur next to his head must be the axe's top. It's a blur because he must be twisting it as he dances the magic dance.

Labyrinth (1986)

Labyrinth mistake picture

Continuity mistake: Hoggle wears a small orange jacket, and a brown leather belt (which has many objects attached to it, such as keys, a pipe, etc.,) which is attached to at the top, on the right side of his jacket, which runs diagonally across his body. However when Hoggle says "Me? I wouldn't go either way," the whole top portion of his body is visible, and you can clearly see that the leather belt is not attached at the top of his jacket. It seems to have gone in this shot. However after he says "You know your thing, you take to many things for granted," the belt is now back, reattached to the top of his jacket. (00:16:55)

General questions

Are there any films which have ever been remade twice?

Hamster

Chosen answer: Plenty. The Front Page was remade as His Girl Friday, which was remade as Switching Channels. There were several versions of The Ten Commandments. Numerous versions of Pride and Prejudice, Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet (Laurence Olivier, Mel Gibson, and Kenneth Branagh, to name only three). The King and I was a remake of Anna and the King of Siam, which was later remade as Anna and the King. Also Brewster's Millions, Peter Pan, and many others.

Airplane (1980)

Question: Captain Oveur was saying things to Joey. What I didn't understand is the jokes behind the lines "Have you ever been in a Turkish Prison" and "Do you like movies about gladiators." What are the jokes behind these? Please explain. Thank-you.

Hamster

Chosen answer: All of his questions to Joey are filled with homosexual innuendos; the perverted captain is trying to see if Joey has any such tendencies. In a Turkish prison, men who are sexually frustrated will resort to "companionship" with other men (even forcefully). Movies about gladiators depict ripped, muscular men, and the question about seeing a "grown man naked" obviously fits the pattern.

Matty Blast

The gladiator reference is about Spartacus. There is a scene in there about homosexuality.

What scene are you talking about? If you mean the "snails and oysters" scene, that was not part of the movie until it was restored in 1991.

Answer: I believe this joke is just to make the watcher extremely uncomfortable and it works great.

Bad Taste (1987)

Continuity mistake: When the guys are in the room eavesdropping on what the alien leader has to say, one alien holding a glass bowl walks in on them. In this shot, Frank's wolleen hat is off. Then in the shot when Frank punches the alien, it has reappeared back on his head. Cut back and it has gone again. (00:44:50)

Bad Taste (1987)

Continuity mistake: In the scene where the guys are getting the weapons from the car, in the forest clearing, the ground surrounding the parked car changes through the scene. At first, it is brown dirt with branches and twigs everywhere. By the end of the scene, when they exclaim "the bastards have landed," the ground is now covered with lush green grass. Bad Taste (1987)

Continuity mistake: When the guys are in the forest clearing, getting guns from the car boot and changing their clothes, Frank says "Don't you forget Oz..." and he takes his white jacket off while he is speaking. But in the following shot Frank's jacket is now back on him again, zipped all the way up. (00:40:15)

Bad Taste (1987)

Continuity mistake: The way that Derek's scarf is tied, and the position of it, and the way it hangs etc., changes between various shots throughout the movie. One good example is when he pulls the gun out of the stupid alien's body. (00:18:55)
