Smallville

Fade - S5-E20

Character mistake: Chloe is looking at her digital wall of weird for anyone with camouflage abilities in the past and says there's no match. They act like this is a new power. However, in season 1, "Shimmer", Jeff Palmer had the ability to turn invisible because of a cream he made with kryptonite infused green roses. That should have popped up in her search. And even if it didn't, Chloe should remember the ability to turn invisible because she got the cream on her fingers, which turned invisible.

Bishop73

Void - S5-E17

Continuity mistake: When Lana goes to see Lance, who's packing up the serum, you see 5 syringes strapped in, 1 with serum in it. When Lance hits Lex and his case falls open, you can see the 5 syringes still strapped in, but now none have any serum in them. When Lance goes to pick up the case, only one syringe is strapped in, and it's in the wrong spot, next to some blood, and one syringe out of the strap lying in the open case.

Bishop73

Solitude - S5-E8

Other mistake: Lois' car has the plate number "AJH 927." This is the same plate number that Senator Jennings had on his car in a previous episode, "Exposed."

Bishop73

Gone - S4-E2

Character mistake: When Chloe is rescued, and she sees Lois, she asks what's Lois is doing here. Lois says "putting the worst 2 months of my life behind me", indicating how long since Chloe supposedly died. But it had been three months at that point.

Bishop73

Delete - S3-E11

Continuity mistake: When Clark goes to Molly's and Lex is there, Lex asks if this is the disc Clark is looking for. Lex holds the disc up in one shot between his 1st and 2nd finger. In the next shot he's holding it between his thumb and 1st finger.

Bishop73

Asylum - S3-E9

Audio problem: When one of the Ian doubles is talking to Lex, the other double is kicking Clark, but we don't hear any of the kicks, even though we hear them in other shots.

Bishop73

Shattered - S3-E8

Continuity mistake: In the shot of Lana being stepped on by the horse, her right arm is out by her side and her hair is covered with the wood shavings lining the stall. In the next shot of her, her right arm is up so that her right hand is by her head and her hair isn't covered with the shavings. Her arm is back out by her side in the next shot when Clark arrives.

Bishop73

Shattered - S3-E8

Continuity mistake: When Lex and Clark go to where Lex saw Morgan and it's a bunch of people sewing, Lex grabs a man's hand and puts it on the table. On the table is a piece of fabric that the hands are on, but in the close up shot, there is no fabric. It's back in the next shot.

Bishop73

Relic - S3-E6

Other mistake: In the flashback to 1961, "Splendor in the Grass" is playing at the Talon. However, the film was released in October of 1961 and Louise McCallum was killed in June of 1961. So the flashback would be set before the film was released.

Bishop73

Perry - S3-E5

Continuity mistake: When Perry arrives at the Kent's, and they start talking, Clark has his hands in his pockets. After being asked it he's a report, Perry starts to walk around and the shot changes and Clark no longer has his hands in his pockets and is then seen putting them in them.

Bishop73

Redux - S2-E6

Continuity mistake: The "Go Crows" sign Lana is working on changes depending on the camera angle. From the front you can see the! at the end. In the close up shot of the sign, the! is now gone. When Lana underlines "crows" it's back but the writing is slightly different.

Bishop73

Nocturne - S2-E5

Revealing mistake: When Lionel is playing the piano while talking to Lex, you see inside the piano and none of the dampers are moving for the notes he's playing, revealing he's not really playing or even hitting the keys.

Bishop73

Nocturne - S2-E5

Continuity mistake: When Lex has the envelope and pulls it away from Lana as she grabs for it, the flap is opened, so the wax seal is on top. In the next shot the flap is folded down.

Bishop73

Red - S2-E4

Factual error: When Palmer is looking at the phone log, the wrong area codes are shown. Most of the list consist of the city of Topeka, with Wichita and Kansas City also seen, with a "206" area code. "206" serves the Seattle Washington area. The other area code seen is "620", which is a Kansas area code, but Topeka is in the "785" area code.

Bishop73

Tempest (1) - S1-E21

Continuity mistake: The way the pillar is on top of Lionel changes in the scene. In the first shot, he's on his side and it lands on his hip. In the next shot he's now on his back and the pillar is going somewhat across his body. In the wide shot of him as the roof falls, the pillar is below his belt, almost perpendicular to his body. Then back to being on his stomach and part of his chest.

Bishop73

Stray - S1-E16

Other mistake: When Ryan gets hit by Martha's car, you can see he has both shoes on as he's going to the ground, and we never see a shoe flying through the air during the hit. Then James and Debra find the shoe in the middle of the street as they watch Martha drive off.

Bishop73

Nicodemus - S1-E15

Continuity mistake: When Pete and Chloe are talking to Clark about the flower, Pete pulls out a notebook and opens it up to hand to Clark or Chloe. In the next shot Chloe is taking the notebook and it's closed, and she opens it up again.

Bishop73

Pilot - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: When Clark is picking up his books, you see him grab his notebook and put it on top. When he sits up, there's no notebook. It's there in the next shot of him, but gone when Whitney tosses a book to Clark.

Bishop73

Trespass - S6-E14

Martha Kent: Clark? What are you still doing out here?
Clark Kent: Well, I'm still doing my chores.
Martha Kent: Well, you usually finish those in about two minutes. How is it that I drove to Metropolis, attended the Children's Foundation dinner, and made it back before you finished?
Clark Kent: Because I'm doing them the normal way.

Trivia: Jerry Siegel, the co-creator of the Clark Kent/Superman character worked on a school magazine when he was at Glenville High School, Cleveland. The magazine was called The Torch - the same name of Smallville High's school magazine, edited by Chloe Sullivan and with Clark Kent as an on/off contributor.

Answer: In the comics, Krypto is a dog from Krypton who was used as the passenger in a test launch by Jor-El, Superman's father, before he launched the actual rocket taking his infant son to Earth. Krypto's capsule was involved in a mishap, sending it out of Kryptonian orbit and eventually found its way to Earth where he linked up with the young Clark Kent. Like any native of Krypton, Krypto has superpowers on Earth. In Smallville, the dog is a standard Earth dog who has been experimentally injected with kryptonite, giving him super-strength for a limited period of time, who escapes and links up with Clark (who suggests the name Krypto, ostensibly because of the dog's cryptic origins). It doesn't take too long for the dog's strength to fade, and the Kents decide to keep him, although they ultimately name him Shelby, after a dog that Martha Kent had in childhood.
