Star Trek: The Next Generation

The Neutral Zone - S1-E26

Revealing mistake: In the sickbay, the wall where the biobeds are located can be easily seen as a wall used for what would be in the Conference lounge. The alcoves have a fabric covering the windows, and it appeared to be a hastily done redress.

Movie Nut

Data's Day - S4-E11

Revealing mistake: When Data and Dr. Crusher are tap dancing on the holodeck, whenever the camera angle changes to a wide shot from above (for the more complex dance moves), it's clear it is not Brent Spiner but a stand-in dancing.

True Q - S6-E6

Revealing mistake: On the bridge, Data is reporting to Picard some info the captain wanted. As he does, the dome over the Captain's chair is totally devoid of stars, where other episodes have had stars showing through.

Movie Nut

True Q - S6-E6

Revealing mistake: In the cargo bay, as Riker stands alone, through the whole scene where a case is about to hit him, you can tell it's a stuntman with a bad wig.

Movie Nut

Deja Q - S3-E13

Revealing mistake: On the bridge, as Q snaps his fingers to pop cigars into Riker and Picard's mouths, his hand and their positions change by a few inches. This shows the filming stopped to put the cigars into their mouths.

Movie Nut

Tin Man - S3-E20

Revealing mistake: Just after Riker and Geordi are talking in the turbo lift, it cuts to a view from outside the ship and shows the USS Hood flying next to the USS Enterprise. As the ships draw nearer, the views of both ships overlap, and a black mat outline can be seen around the saucer section of the Hood as it passes by the Enterprise's starboard nacelle.

Quantom X

Data's Day - S4-E11

Revealing mistake: When Data asks the replicator for Feline supplement 74 and gives then gives it to Spot, a bug is crawling on the food. Replicators cannot create living organisms. (00:13:15)

Datalore - S1-E13

Revealing mistake: After Data leaves Lore in his quarters, as the doors close, the grain of the wood is plainly visible in the strong lighting. The doors were supposed to be a sleek material.

Movie Nut

Darmok - S5-E2

Revealing mistake: When Picard takes his seat in the Captain's chair after informing Dathon's crew he has been killed, the reflection of an overhead rig of gelled lights can be seen in the blade of Dathon's knife, which Picard is holding, as Picard says the line, "but at least they're not new enemies."

Michael Albert

The Royale - S2-E12

Factual error: 30 seconds in Geordi says: 'surface temperature -291 degrees Celsius'. (The scale only goes down to -273.15 which is absolute zero). (00:00:30)

Deja Q - S3-E13

Picard: Return that moon to its orbit.
Q: I have no powers! Q, the ordinary!
Picard: Q, the liar! Q, the misanthrope!
Q: Q, the miserable! Q, the desperate! What must I do to convince you people?
Worf: Die.

Answer: He brought the Borg to the Alpha Quadrant and showed them that it was full of worlds waiting to be assimilated. Guinan's homeworld was their first stop, and they assimilated everyone and took over the planet, leaving The Survivors of her race without a home. Q is ultimately responsible for that.

Captain Defenestrator

By the time Q takes the Enterprise to meet the Borg, Guinan already knew who they were and they had already destroyed her world. Therefore the above answer can not be right. I believe Guinan is much more than she appears, and her people have had encounters with the Q in the past. It is these interactions, that obviously were not pleasant, that fuels her distrust.

oldbaldyone

That's what the above answer is saying. Q brought the Borg to the Alpha Quadrant (not Earth) and the Borg destroyed Guinan's home world in the late 2200's, which is why she hates Q. Although she met Q in 2160 and they both saw each other as enemies right away.
