South Park (1997)

Le Petit Tourette - S11-E8

Corrected entry: When Cartman visits Chris Hanson to call off his appearance on Dateline (he is currently unable to keep from blurting out his unfiltered thoughts), he lies that his grandma died and that he has to go to Memphis. His "Tourette's" then kicks in and he admits that his grandma's fine. His grandma, however, died earlier in "Cartmanland" (season 5 episode 6) and at this point, he knows of only one parent (his mother/father Liane). (00:16:00)

Correction: However, Cartman's great-grandma, Florence, is still alive. Many people do refer to great-grandparents as "grandma" or "grandpa" in general conversations such as this.

Batman Returns (1992)

Correction: A similar mistake was already submitted and corrected. She doesn't hit him in the center, it's always to his right side. In fact, in the scene she made it a point to attack him there since she knows his chest is protected.

Batman Returns (1992)

Corrected entry: The crib changes buoyancy throughout the opening credits; for example in one shot the crib slides down a chute and sinks very low in the water. In the next shot the crib is out much higher. (00:02:20)

Hamster

Correction: The speed of going down the chute is what caused the carriage to sink lower in the water. After that it raises back up.

One Hour Photo (2002)

Corrected entry: When Jake shows Sy the action figure he picked up in the store, there is a shot of the figurine in the box. The title and text on the box is almost all in Japanese writing, including a little yellow text box, on the top right of the plastic covering, and in the shot of the back of the box, most of the writing is in Japanese as well. It's unlikely that a product that was released in a major American mall, would leave most of the writing on the product it was selling, in a foreign language. While many stores import products and leave the writing in the foreign language, malls like the one in the film would never import items like this, unless it was on special request. It wouldn't see much profit from importing an product like that.

Lummie

Correction: First off, the scene takes place at SavMart, not the mall. So, as you stated, stores (like SavMart) do import foreign toys, and since it's not a major American mall, there's nothing wrong with the toy having Japanese writing. Often stores that carry these types of foreign toys do so because they're actually cheaper, thus saving not only the company, but the customers, money.

Bishop73

Corrected entry: After the party where Harris gets burned by the brandy, there is a left panning shot of the beach which focuses on the large curved hotel. The next shot zooming out of the arch shows the hotel to be a blatant painting. (Note the frozen waterfalls on the pool.)

Correction: Lassard and the other man are standing in front of the real life Fountainebleau Hotel mural painted by Richard Haas in the 80's (although in 2002 during renovations the wall and mural were taken down).

Bishop73

Corrected entry: During the initial Sentinel attack, there's an error regarding Blink's portals, and the inconsistent way with which they are routed. We see a Sentinel lured into one, turn around, and then try to go back through it. However, simply turning around to reenter the portal should have resulted in the Sentinel being back in his original location, ie. on the far side of the first portal, facing away from Blink. But instead we have the Sentinel ending up on the closest side, facing towards Blink. (00:06:55)

Correction: The portals are always consistent (although her portal mutant powers aren't explained in the movie, so we don't actually know how they're suppose to work.) If you look at the way Blink is kneeling, you can tell the direction of the sentinel is correct.

The Dead Pool (1988)

Correction: It's not a rubber knife. It's a boning knife, which is designed to be flexible. When the killer is slicing the newspaper with the knife, he puts so much pressure on the knife that the blade bends as it should (although most rubber knives aren't sharp enough to slice up newspaper as he does).

Sudden Impact (1983)

Corrected entry: Near the end, Mick and the other two bad guys are chasing Sondra to the carousel. Mick shatters the glass door with his rifle on the right. after a chase, she runs to the same glass doors only to shatter the left door this time, while the right door is now intact.

Correction: It's not the same doors. It's the doors on the other side of the carousel. You can tell because not only is the surrounding area different, but the door style is different. The first door (which had the keys in the lock) had a push bar across each door. The second doors (which have no keys in them) have door handles but no push bar.

Sudden Impact (1983)

Corrected entry: In two scenes, at the pistol range to get used to his Automag pistol and in the hotel room when Harry has lost his model 29, S&W and is getting his Automag pistol. In both scenes, Harry picks up the Automag pistol, then a magazine and pushes the magazine into the pistol butt. Both times the magazine has no cartridges in it. You can see the spring through the witness slot on the side of the magazine. The pistol won't fire if there are no cartridges in the magazine.

Correction: Both times it's very clear both magazines have cartridges in them. The first time you do see some of the spring near the bottom, but this is because the magazine isn't fully loaded. In one shot when he's loading the magazine into the gun, you can even see the cartridge at the top.

The Enforcer (1976)

Corrected entry: In the scene in the church where Harry needs information from a priest, he throws him into a confessional so hard that the wall separates revealing how flimsy it is. (01:22:55)

Mark Pitta 1

Correction: It's not the wall that separates. The inside of the confessional was lined with soundproofing tiles, like those you'd see on a ceiling. It's the tiles that move, which would happen in real life. It's the construction style of how they're placed that causes this, just like how easy it it to push a some ceiling tiles up.

Magnum Force (1973)

Corrected entry: During Davis' combat pistol round, we see him shoot a standup target from the target's perspective. He fires twice, but we see a second bullet hole pop out before the second shot is fired for a total of three holes from only two bullets.

Correction: The target was shot at once prior to the camera cutting to the target's perspective, so in total it was hit 3 times with 3 bullets, thus the 3 holes.

Bishop73

Corrected entry: When we see Carson Clay in the audience for the first time during the premiere of his movie, you can see Sabine two rows behind, when she has not arrived at the premiere yet. She is still driving with Mr. Bean.

Correction: No, that's not her. It's just a random girl sitting next to Stepan's father.

Bishop73

Corrected entry: When Bean is chasing the chickens on the bike, his basket is filled with only fruits. A few moments later his video camera appears in the basket.

BigOLB

Correction: When he first grabs the bike, the camera isn't in the basket, but the next shot, which is of him much further along in the chase, the camera is there (but he had plenty of time to put it in there to video tape what he was doing).

Mr. Bean (1989)

Mr. Bean Goes To Town - S1-E6

Corrected entry: When the magician pulls the scarf from Mr Bean's jacket, you can see that the scarf is already in Mr Bean's jacket and the magician just takes it out. But since Mr Bean showed up late to the magic act, the magician would not have had any chance to put the scarf there before Mr Bean came up to the stage.

Correction: The way the magic trick works (in the show and in real life) is that the magician, using slight-of-hand, places the scarf in Mr. Bean's jacket without anyone seeing (reverse pick-pocketing) as he's getting on stage, not before.

Bishop73

Corrected entry: It is impossible to walk to Gare de Lyon from La Défense because where he is dropped off is an elevated pedestrian zone and at the end of it is the motorway and metro line - no footpath.

Correction: Mr. Bean is seen walking on the motorway, causing his usual wake of commotion. It's why the guy watching the monitors asks if they should stop him.

Dirty Harry (1971)

Corrected entry: Scorpio is not charged with any crime due to inadmissible evidence. There is no reason why he could not have been charged with assault on a police officer, and with shoot to kill a police officer, given he assaulted Harry and shot Chico, who both were witnesses.

mightymick

Correction: Everything about that night is tainted evidence and therefore not admissible, but not only that, the DA wasn't willing to try to prosecute on any crime because of Harry's actions.

Bishop73

Scorpio's face was covered with a ski mask so Harry or Chico couldn't identify him for assaulting or shooting a police officer. I did find a 1997 constitutional law paper from the University of Chicago (Dirty Harry and the Real Constitution, Michael Stokes Paulsen) that argues Scorpio could be tried and convicted.

Dirty Harry (1971)

Corrected entry: The route that the Scorpio makes Harry take to the cross would definitely take longer than 20 minutes. In the movie he runs Harry all over town on a trek that would take many, many hours.

Correction: I couldn't find anything that suggested the entire running around event took 20 minutes. In fact, afterwards when Harry goes to the doctor about a patient with a knife wound, he says the girl only has an hour to live, meaning it was 2am. He started trekking around at 9:30pm.

Dirty Harry (1971)

Corrected entry: The blackmail note Harry finds after the first murder is pinned to an antenna. When the note is projected at the Mayor's office there is no trace of the rather big hole in the middle. (00:05:30)

NancyFelix

Correction: The note wasn't pinned, it was held on by a clip on the side of the note. There was never any hole.

The Fugitive (1993)

Corrected entry: The judge sentences Kimble to death by lethal injection. The judge does not have the power to decide the method of execution.

MikeH

Correction: In 1993, Illinois used lethal injection as the only form of execution. The only time they would use the electric chair was if something happened where lethal injection was not viable or did not work, however, it was never a primary option. Therefore, there were no other methods for anyone to choose and judge was merely letting Kimble know how he will be executed.

The Office (2005)

Lecture Circuit: Part 2 - S5-E15

Corrected entry: In this episode Angela complains about the amount of leave time a woman gets when she has a baby. To which Meredith says 'she's right, I had my second kid just for the vacation'. But through the entire series, before and after this episode, Meredith has only had one child, a son.

Correction: Meredith only has custody of one child, her son, Jake. However, she has a daughter, Wendy. Wendy's father (one of Meredith's ex-husband) has custody of her.
