Klink's Masterpiece - S6-E3

Other mistake: When the boys are working on the "jigsaw" map, Klink and the guard come in. There is a gust of wind from their entrance. Trouble is, the gust that blows the pieces comes from behind LeBeau, blowing the pieces toward Newkirk's bunk, rather than toward the camera.

Revealing mistake: When the Grinch is powering up his sled, he's turning on switches. The circular display is dark, then turns on during the process. If you look closely, you see the grid and the big black arrow on it before it is lit up.

Movie Nut

Continuity mistake: When testing his engines and after he hits the wall, he turns around and is leaning on the wall. He's tilted toward the "HIT HERE" circle. The camera cuts closer in, and he's now standing straighter in relation to the circle.

Movie Nut

Continuity mistake: When he's talking to Cindy Lou in the Post Office, Lou is riding on the movable ladder, When he says "You kids and the Grinch", he's right at the end of the track when the camera cuts to Cindy Lou. When it cuts back, he's just stopping at the end. The sound while the camera is on Cindy Lou suggested that the track was longer than it was.

Movie Nut

Continuity mistake: In the wide shot of the town square after the mayor says there "is no Grinch problem here!", the yellow car that had a full cab that the red car hit is missing, and the red car's right headlight that was knocked out in the crash with the yellow car is back in place.

Movie Nut

Question: In the beginning, there is a watchman that announces "Another minute closer to Christmas!" as each minute ticks off a countdown clock. Assuming that each panel (days, hours minutes) is on a revolving wheel of some sort, how can the three wheels work correctly in such close proximity to each other? Granted, only the minutes part moves for the sake of the story, but it still begs the question.

Movie Nut

Answer: By machine.

The clock in "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" is designed for cinematic effect; a real-world counterpart would rely on precise gearing and engineering to allow three separate wheels to operate in close proximity without interfering with each other. The key would be in the gear ratios and the alignment of the gears to ensure smooth operation of each panel.

The Softer They Fall - S5-E18

Continuity mistake: Klink comes out with the "insurance policies" in his hand. They are lying beside each other, with a little space between them, and tilted in one position in his hand. When the camera goes into a close up, they are touching, and in a different position.

Get Fit or Go Fight - S5-E16

Continuity mistake: When the woman is kissing Klink in town, she hands a note to the boy who puts the note inside the spare tire's hubcap. There was no tape to stick it anywhere, yet when LeBeau goes to get the note, it is stuck with tape to the center of the spare tire.

How's the Weather? - S5-E15

Audio problem: When Klink comes into the barracks, he puts the bottle of alcohol into his jacket to hide it. When he does, you hear a distinct clink (no pun intended) of glass on metal. None of the POWs wear anything that would cause this.

How's the Weather? - S5-E15

Continuity mistake: Before Hogan lets Klink have the ball to hit, the camera does a close up on the volleyball. It can be seen to be a dull light brown color. After Klink hits it, and it soars up into the air the camera cuts to Hogan and Klink, and back again. When it does the ball is now a shiny orange like color.

The Merry Widow - S5-E24

Continuity mistake: As Schultz marches in with the Kraut platoon, he reports to Klink. As he goes to stand at attention and report, the new tunnel section he's over collapses, and he completely disappears into the hole. The camera goes to a close up on Klink, then back to the hole, and you see Schultz standing in the hole and it's only chest deep.

Movie Nut

Continuity mistake: In the wide shot that would be a view from the roof of Betty Lou's house, you can see the spool of lights on Martha May's cannon isn't lit up or moving.

Movie Nut

Other mistake: When Martha May is getting ready to put up her lights with the cannon, she pulls a charging handle, and starts firing. If you watch closely, you see a lit string of lights come out, but the spool that they're on isn't moving, or lit up. Then after all of the lights are out, it still fires several more times (watch the aiming indicator- it continues to flash with the sound).

A Christmas Story (1983)

Continuity mistake: In the second kitchen scene after Ralphie sits, the camera looks at the cellar door, where you hear the old man cussing up a "cloud of profanity that still hangs over Lake Michigan." The damper controls are sitting top to the left, bottom to the right. After the "accident" with the lamp, dad comes upstairs. The controls are now reversed, top to the right, bottom to the left.

A Christmas Story (1983)

Continuity mistake: When Ralphie (blind from "soap poisoning" in the dream sequence) comes up to the door, in the reflection on his shades, it looks like he's facing a white door. When the camera cuts to a shot from behind him, you see a green door with the gold colored horseshoe.
