Blade Runner (1982)
Question: Deckard has access to two sets of photographs, one from Leon's room in which he finds the lead to the replicant 'snake woman' and the other set belonging to Rachel. Yet Rachel's set also contains this same photograph - which is of an apparently empty room. I understand the reason for each to have their own 'precious' photos (as Roy calls them), but why would both Leon's set and Rachel's set contain the same empty room photo?
Answer: The only photo of Rachel's that Deckard has is the fake one of her family. The "empty room" photo is seen again as Deckard leafs through Leon's photos.

Question: Though as of today I've only seen Serenity 1 & 2, why did Mal trick Simon into thinking Kaylee was dead, and then laugh about it with Zoe, Wash and Jayne on the bridge?
Answer: To tease him. Kaylee is the only one who likes Simon at this point, so the others don't mind playing a rather mean-spirited joke on him.

General questions
There was this cartoon (I think?) series in the 80's (maybe late) in the US that had one girl and two boys searching for lands of gold. The only other thing I remember is that one of the boys had a vase/pot that had broken lines on it that glowed for some reason. Any ideas?

Spider-Man 2 (2004)
Question: Is the Green Goblin a whole separate being, or just another side/part of Norman Osborn himself (and then Harry)? I am asking because Norman argues with the Green Goblin mask in the first Spider-man movie, as if they are two separate people, but it also looks like he could be arguing with himself (with the Goblin's voice really being in his mind).
Answer: It's either Schizophrenia or multiple personality disorder brought on by the super-soldier drug he took. The Green Goblin is a facet of Norman's mind. So he is really arguing with himself, though he thinks it's the Green Goblin.

Question: When they are repairing the cargo ship on Revanna the scientists talk about what happened in the episode Tangent. They talk about the recall device. I don't really understand what it is that O'Neill is accusing the scientists of. Could someone explain it to me please?
Answer: In Tangent, a captured Goa'uld Death Glider was retrofitted into the X-301. Unbeknownst to the SGC, it contained a recall device that would automatically make it return to Apophis home base. Teal'c and O'Neill were testing it when the device activated sending them into deep space where they nearly died. O'Neill wants to make sure the cargo ship doesn't have something similar.

Answer: So far they have shown seven. Number 6/Shelly Godfrey/"Gina"/Tricia Helfer, Number 8/Sharon "Boomer" Valerii/Grace Park, Number 3/D'Anna Biers/Lucy Lawless, ?/Leoben Conoy/Callum Keith Rennie, ? (Possibly Number 5)/Aaron Doral/Matthew Bennett, ?/Brother Cavell/Dean Stockwell, ?/Dr. Simon/Rick Worthy. It is as yet unknown if the Centurions and Raiders count as models.
Answer: Cavil - 1 Leoben - 2 D'Anna - 3 Simon - 4 Doral - 5 Six - 6 Daniel - 7 (never seen) Sharon - 8 Then the Final Five that don't have numbers. The Centurions, Raiders and Hybrids do not count as models as such.

The Langoliers (1995)
Question: Why is it that the bullet bounced off Albert chest, and didn't pierce into his skin or anything, yet the knife blade was able to enter Dinah? I never understood why the bullet did no damage to him, yet the blade did.
Chosen answer: Because as time runs down, food loses its taste, drinks lose their fizz and the gunpowder in the bullet had lost most of its explosive force. It was unable to propel the bullet very hard. The knife still retained its edge as physical objects didn't break down.

Shaun of the Dead (2004)
Question: In the 'Remembering Z-day' scene near the film's end, where Shaun is watching clips of the zombie-outbreak aftermath where soldiers run in and shoot all the zombies, one soldier can be seen taking cover behind a tree as if in a firefight. Why would he need to take cover when he's battling slow-moving, melee-only zombies?
Answer: Soldiers tend to fight like they train. It becomes almost instinctive to find cover before firing your weapon.

The Langoliers (1995)
Question: Are the creatures we actually witness, eating up the LAX airport, actually Langoliers? I have heard from friends who have read the book that they are not Langoliers. Also Mr. Toomy's description of them (he says they have legs and are hairy) doesn't hold up. Are they Langoliers? If not, what are they? And if not, why do the characters refer to them as Langoliers?
Chosen answer: The Langoliers don't exist, they are Toomey's version of the boogeyman. The creatures that "eat" the past are close enough to what Craig believes that he thinks they are the Langoliers. And it's as good as anything else to call them, so all the others adopt the name as well. No one could actually know what they are called as most people move into the future along with the natural flow of time and the few that do travel into the past are eventually killed by them.

General questions
This applies to many, many action/spy movies. Silenced pistols in movies are pretty much silent, but I have read that this is not the case in real life and although a silencer does quieten a gunshot, it's still not exactly silent. My question is, does a real life silenced pistol still have a similar sound to movie silenced pistols (that sort of high pitched "ping" or "pew" sound), only louder, or is it an entirely different noise?
Chosen answer: It depends. You CANNOT silence a revolver. A silencer on an average pistol will only make the shot about half as loud as normal. It will not make the pistol go "pfft" like in the movies. However, there are some specifically designed weapons, such as the MP5 SD3 (as seen in Navy Seals), the S&W 9mm "Hush Puppy", the British Welrod and the Chinese Type 64, that are almost completely silent, the only noise being the muted clack of the bolt.

Question: In this episode, Brendan Fraser has his arm on fire for a good ten seconds. I've seen this effect before, and his arm has gotta be covered in some kind of fluid that protects his skin, or something. But it looks so good. Does anyone know exactly how it's achieved without him feeling the pain? I'm pretty sure it's not a prosthetic, could it be a false skin wrapped around his forearm?
Answer: It's coated in a fireproof gel under the flammable liquid. It can burn for 10-20 seconds without harming the actor. The bonus features in the Spawn DVD have a whole section on fire special effects if you want to see more.

Serenity (2005)
Question: Why is River bare-foot so often, especially on a ship that has a lot of metal flooring?
Answer: She has several mental disorders, presumably she finds shoes confining or uncomfortable. It's notable that when she does have footwear it's almost always heavy calf high boots, instead of slippers or more comfortable shoes.
To add; She likes to dance, and being barefoot it's easier to move around.
Something I always wondered is when she goes on the heist barefoot at the beginning of the film, none of the other characters seem to notice or care that she's in bare feet. Even her brother, Simon, didn't try to get her to wear shoes.
Answer: The reason is that Summer Glau had severe tendinitis and arthritis in her feet and wearing shoes was painful for her.
I actually got to ask Summer this at Galaxy Con. She said that being barefoot helped her focus on becoming her character.
