Trivia: The Red Hot Chili Peppers sued Showtime Network over the title of this show, as it bears the same name as their 1999 album, as well as one of the songs on it. The lawsuit was settled out of court.

Trivia: Jessica Henwick revealed she was offered a role in the film, but she turned it down because she felt accepting it would eliminate the possibility of her ever playing Colleen Wing from the Netflix series Iron Fist again.

The Wrestler (2008)

Trivia: Following the release of the film, Mickey Rourke was scheduled to compete in a match at Wrestlemania 25 against Chris Jericho. The two even appeared on "Larry King Live" to sell the feud. Rourke later dropped out of the match, and ended up being a special guest at the event, and "punching out" Jericho after his match. According to Jericho, Rourke pulled out of the match because his agents felt associating with WWE would ruin his chances of winning an Oscar for his performance in the film.

The Wrestler (2008)

Trivia: Hulk Hogan claimed he was offered the lead role in this film, which director Darren Aronofsky has disputed. Randy the Ram appears to be partially inspired by Hogan, given he was a megastar in the 80's, has bleach-blonde hair and a tanned skin complexion, and occasionally calls people "brother."

The Prestige (2006)

Trivia: There are a couple times in the movie, where if you listen carefully, you can hear Angier's English accent slip through (such as when he says to Olivia "He lives his act"). These are subtle clues to the later revelation that Angier is a British aristocrat pretending to be an American magician.

Trivia: SPOILER: Although it was the film's worst kept secret, whenever asked, Andrew Garfield would deny, sometimes vehemently, that he would be appearing in it.

Trivia: During one of his shows, J. Jonah Jameson advertises his own brand of health supplements. This is likely a reference to far-right discredited conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, who likewise would advertise his own health supplements on his show.

Trivia: Peter disrupts Strange's spell 5 times, resulting in the same number of multiversal villains appearing in this universe. Strange initially erroneously states that Peter disrupted the spell 6 times. This is likely a reference to the supervillain team that Spider-Man frequently faces in the comics: the Sinister Six.

Trivia: SPOILER: Near the end of the film when the fabric of reality has been torn open and Spider-Man villains from other universes are preparing to enter, one of the silhouettes shown is of the Rhino in a more comic book accurate outfit than the mechsuit he donned in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. A silhouette of Scorpion is also visible just before Rhino.

Trivia: Electro is surprised to learn that Spider-Man isn't black because he is from Queens and helps other people. He then ponders that there may be a black Spider-Man in another universe, a reference to Miles Morales.

Trivia: The title of Flash Thompson's book is "Flashpoint." This is likely a reference to the DC Comics crossover event of the same name, which similarly deals with familiar characters from alternate universes.

Trivia: This was the first post-pandemic film to both earn more than $100 million at the domestic box office on its opening weekend and at least $1 billion globally. Even with an ongoing pandemic, it managed to have the second highest domestic opening of all time at $260 million. It was also only the third movie to earn at least $800 million at the domestic box office.

Trivia: SPOILER: Prior to the film's release, unconfirmed reports stated Charlie Cox would appear in the film as Matt Murdock, reprising his role from the Netflix series Daredevil. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige practically spilled the beans days before the release, stating that if the day ever came that Marvel would use the Daredevil character in their films, Cox would be playing him. The episode of Hawkeye that premiered the day before this film's release all but confirmed this, as Vincent D'Onofrio was revealed to be reprising his role as Kingpin from the aforementioned Daredevil series.

Trivia: At one point in the film, Ned makes a promise to Peter that he will never turn into a supervillain and try to kill him. This is a reference to Ned Leeds in the comics being one of the men to take up the mantle of Hobgoblin.
