Continuity mistake: When Data and Troi are scanning the list of elements, searching for something to cause an explosion, the list is scrolling "up" the screen. When she tells Data to stop and go back, he does, but the list continues to scroll "up" instead of back "down".

Continuity mistake: When Charlie Brown is talking to Lucy at her Psychiatrist booth, the sign says "The Doctor is Real In" or "The Doctor is In" depending on the viewing angle.

Continuity mistake: Charlie Brown's Christmas tree is never the same. When we first see it, it has three branches. Later, when he's carrying it, it has four branches. Then, when he tries to decorate it and it flops over, it has six branches.

Continuity mistake: At one point, the chimney flue becomes jammed and thick smoke starts billowing into the room. Kristen seems to fix the flue, but the smoke keeps coming for a bit. A second later, there is no evidence of smoke in the room, not even a haze.

Trivia: The music playing when Scut Farkus appears is the Wolf's theme from Sergei Prokofiev's "Peter and the Wolf". Farkas is a Hungarian name, but literally means "Wolf".

Factual error: When hero boy and girl and Billy are on the runaway car at the north pole, they crash into the stopper at the end of the tracks. They are flung backwards when in reality, due to inertia, they should have been flung forward into the guard rail.

The Golden Compass mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When Lyra is walking through the palace to meet King Ragnar of the Ice Bears, there are a great many bears all around her, with a few following her right up to the king. She gets to the king, and when the shot pans out to the hall, suddenly all the other bears are gone. Even if they all left the hall, it would take more than a second or two to do so.

Factual error: At the very end of the film, when they are driving in the land cruiser, a white Maine state trooper vehicle is upside down. In reality, they are blue. The livery shown is that of the Illinois State Police. (01:47:45)

Factual error: In the movie, Houdini's death is caused by failing to escape from a Chinese Water Torture Cell following an injury with a prop sword. In reality, Houdini died of a burst appendix after being punched in the stomach.

Plot hole: The main accident is a crash involving toxic waste, which seals the tunnel, yet no one has any trouble breathing, or even has so much as irritated eyes.

Continuity mistake: When the tunnel caves in as a result of the explosion, the cars about to enter it come to a stop in almost a straight line. When Stallone gets out of his limo, the cars are now scattered everywhere. Then, when he goes back later to the collapsed entrance, the cars are not only in different positions, but some have changed in make and model as well.

Factual error: When Josh Brolin is leaning against the guard wall outside the motel, there is a Carl's Jr. visible in the background. Carl's Jr. did not open stores in Texas until several years after the movie is set.

Trivia: The voice of God giving the Ten Commandments is a chorus of several male voices including, principally, Charlton Heston's and Cecil B.DeMille's, recorded separately with one track laid on top of the other and altered electronically. The other voices in the chorus were those of actor and singer Delos Jewkes and Donald Hayne, DeMille's publicist/biographer.
