Trivia: The dolphin was trained to retrieve many objects that were thrown in a pool at SeaWorld Miami. There were maybe 12 -16 different shaped and weighted items that she learned to pick up and place on the side out of the pool and water. One of the objects and the most important was a black rubber gun. Every single time the only object she would not recover was the gun.
Trivia: When Ace enters the club to meet the guy with long blond hair and glasses, the song playing is "Hammer Smashed Face" by death metal band Cannibal Corpse. Jim Carrey is a fan of Cannibal Corpse and insisted they appear in the movie since it takes place in Florida, the "capital" of death metal.
Trivia: At Camp's party, as Ace and Melissa are walking past the musicians, Jim Carrey ad-libbed pulling on the cellist's arm, causing him to hit a wrong note.
Trivia: All the outdoor scenes at Camp's party and the asylum were filmed at the Vizcaya estate in Miami. Watch 'Any Given Sunday' and you'll see much of the same estate.
Trivia: Actual members (at the time) of the Miami Dolphins appear during the Isotoner commercial scene, including quarterback Scott Mitchell. The scene features the same gag used in the real life commercials where Marino's teammates (in uniform) pick him up and carry him away.
Trivia: Lauren Holly, who later starred with Jim Carrey in "Dumb & Dumber", screen-tested for the female lead role but turned it down.

Chosen answer: That scene was cut originally by the director Tom Shadyack because the scene did not support the story and thought it slowed the film down. (And the scene was cut from the US version as well.) It was added back later in TV versions of the film. Fan enjoyed the scene so much they asked it be put back in the film version. I know the DVD has it because I own it. It's hilarious!
