The Office

The Meeting - S6-E2

Character mistake: When Dwight and Toby drive by Darryl's house to investigate his injury, a New York Yankees sign is on the front porch of Darryl's home. Throughout the show, however, it is strongly implied that Darryl is a Philadelphia Phillies fan. This is a character contradiction. (00:10:19)

The Alliance - S1-E4

Continuity mistake: Jim writes in Meredith's birthday card that she is an accountant, but later in the series it's said that she's a customer relations rep instead.

Traveling Salesmen - S3-E12

Other mistake: When Michael is playing with "Harvey" the computer, it says whatever he types. When we briefly see the computer screen, the entire dialog for the scene is already typed out, in spite of it including text that hasn't been said yet and that Michael wouldn't know Harvey would say (such as "you ruined a funny joke, get out of my office").

Goodbye, Michael - S7-E21

Continuity mistake: When Gabe and Erin are talking in the bathroom, Creed comes out of the stall and closes the stall door behind him, and it stays in that position. The next time we see the door, it's wide open.

Niagara - S6-E4

Continuity mistake: When Dwight is talking to the kids, he picks up one fry. In the shot of him from behind, he's holding two fries. It goes back to one fry when he takes a bite.

The Promotion - S6-E3

Continuity mistake: When Kevin is writing Pam a check, he flips it open so the check register is folded under the checks. After he says "wait till Monday", the check register is no longer folded under the checks.

The Alliance - S1-E4

Continuity mistake: Dwight is hiding in a box in the basement when Pam comes down to the basement and pretends to make a secretive phone call. As she does so the box that Dwight is hiding in changes position on the floor, presumably so that the camera can catch the holes that Dwight has made in the box in order to breathe.

Basketball - S1-E5

Continuity mistake: During the Basketball game just before Pam throws the jump ball, Stanley is seen standing over Pam's left shoulder. After she tosses the ball up Michael hits the ball mid-air over to Stanley who is now about 10-15 feet in front of Pam, with no time to logically get there between shots. (00:13:15)

Show generally

Continuity mistake: During season 1, specifically episode six, it is shown that the show is filmed in a real office building. The windows we see in Michael's office and the conference room match the exterior windows as they all walk to their cars at the end of the episode. However from season 2 onwards the office is at ‘1725 Slough Avenue', featuring the building everyone's familiar with. However if you look at the windows on this building they do not at all match the set interior, they even have vertical blinds that are visible. A large set error they ignored when moving to the replica set.

St. Patrick's Day - S6-E18

Continuity mistake: When Jim reveals the tiny desk underneath his "Quad-Desk" to Dwight, Dwight sets his briefcase down on a chair not shown in any previous shot. (00:21:05)

Moroccan Christmas - S5-E10

Continuity mistake: When Meredith's hair catches fire, we never see her face (as it's a stunt double). After Dwight uses The Fire extinguisher on her, the shot cuts (although she is still in the frame) and her hair is different, as it is now the original actor that plays Meredith. (00:05:50)

The Target - S9-E8

Revealing mistake: When Angela asks Dwight to meet in their old spot, she arrives to see him apparently naked. There is pixelation around his groin area, but you can still see that he's actually wearing flesh-coloured underwear. (00:18:05)

Ivan Paperman

Diversity Day - S1-E2

Continuity mistake: When they're having the Diversity Day meeting Jim's chair can be seen over Michael's shoulder several times. In the beginning of The Meeting the chair is pointed towards his desk, but when Kevin says that he remembers the Chris Rock routine and begins to recite it, you can now see that the chair is pointed towards Pam's desk; however no one has left The Meeting in that time. (The only person who's not in The Meeting is Devon. He was at his desk and walking around a few times but it makes no sense that he would go and move Jim's chair.) It's obvious that the actor left the chair in different positions during different takes. (00:06:00 - 00:07:05)

Viewing Party - S7-E8

Character mistake: In the scene where Ryan and Andy are taking a tour of Gabe's bedroom, Ryan says "Hey, Marantz tube stereo from the 1970s" It is in fact a Marantz SR 1000 stereo receiver. This model uses solid state electronics, not vacuum tubes. (00:13:30)

Gettysburg - S8-E8

Continuity mistake: While Andy continues the tour, Gabe stays behind to perform as Abraham Lincoln. Later on we see Gabe with the others, we even get a close up. A while later, when everyone is tired and sitting on the grass, Gabe doesn't seem to be there. Eventually the episode ends with Gabe finishing his performance.

Launch Party - S4-E3

Revealing mistake: In the first scene, everyone is in the conference room, just waiting for the block on the TV to hit a corner while Michael is blabbing away. The screen has no reflections, but later when Michael talks to the camera there is a reflection. In the scene you can also see the off shading on the characters in it, making it very apparent that the scene was filmed using a green screen.

Branch Wars - S4-E6

Continuity mistake: Earlier in the show we see Michael trying to get Jim to go on a "sale" to crush Utica by pumping him up in the conference room and when he turns to leave he sees Toby in an orange bow tie for The Meeting of the Finer Things Club but later in the episode we see Toby wearing a greenish/brown tie. (00:07:00 - 00:11:00)

Emily Mulholland

Cocktails - S3-E17

Continuity mistake: Michael and Dwight arrive at Wallace's house and discover that Michael is dressed like the servants, so they choose to exchange shirts. Behind the catering van, Michael removes his jacket and throws it on Dwight's shoulder, who grabs it and puts it between his legs. The frame switches from front to side, showing Michael removing his tie and hanging it on the van's mirror. When the frame goes back to front, Michael is shown still with his tie on, and throwing the jacket again, missing Dwight. (00:05:41)
