Continuity mistake: When Jack speaks to Michael and Jin, as they build the raft, and then when he walks up the beach and inquires about Sawyer's trouble with his head, the backpack that Jack carries on his back is nylon, black/green with white trim. Yet, when Sawyer asks, "Sensitivity to light, that bad?" the backpack is suddenly transformed into solid black leather, of an entirely different style. Visible crew/equipment: While Jin is cuffed to the wreckage, Sun points to her wrist and explains in Korean, but Sayid shouts, "The cuffs stay on!" At the start of the next shot, a crewmember's arm is seen holding the reflector screen to Sawyer's left, as he makes a sarcastic comment. (00:09:30)
Visible crew/equipment: In the end of this episode when Kate and Sawyer have just left the hatch they see a black horse. In the first shot with the horse, on the far right of the screen you can see the trainer's hand with a black glove. HD widescreen only.
Continuity mistake: When Kate finds the pilot's wingpin in the mud, the pilot's reflection is seen in the water as he lies on the branches above Kate. When Jack approaches they all look up and in the overhead shot the pilot's position differs and he lies on different parts of the branches, note their shape.

Continuity mistake: When Jack removes the paper with Kate's mugshot from the marshal's jacket pocket, in the close-up of the paper there is no writing at the top center of the paper, only at the sides. However, in the previous shot the center writing is visible from behind, and is also perfectly seen when Hurley finds the paper.
Exodus (1) - S1-E23
Visible crew/equipment: As the raft sets sail with Walt, when Vincent runs into the water chasing it, Walt shouts, "Stay Vincent!" At the start of the next shot, on the right, the crew's vessel/equipment is quite visible. (00:40:45)

Visible crew/equipment: After Sayid and Essam pull into the garage, when Sayid leaves through the back of the white van and closes the door, there is a lovely clear reflection of the cameraman and camera reflected on the door. (00:34:25)

Continuity mistake: When Kate and Sawyer happen upon the lovely waterfall, Sawyer removes his shirt and he has the bandage tied round the stab wound on his upper arm. When underwater, there is a different dressing on his arm; it is snugger, with no ends - most likely an elastic type to stay put during the underwater shots. (00:02:50 - 00:04:15)

Visible crew/equipment: After Kate throws dynamite down the hole, when Jack pulls Locke up, the green straps (for device used in the stunt) going round Locke's pant leg are clearly visible. (00:46:40)

Continuity mistake: On the beach, when Shannon questions Boone about his and Locke's whereabouts everyday, Boone wears a sleeveless tee shirt with large Asian characters on the front. Then, when Boone kneels beside Shannon the entire design actually disappears. (00:09:35)

Continuity mistake: When Kate leans over the unconscious marshal he wakes and chokes her, and when Jack subdues him the marshal's large head bandage falls off. When Jack squeezes water into the marshal's mouth, the bandages are wrapped perfectly round his head, yet when Kate stands up the bandages are off again. (00:19:30)
White Rabbit - S1-E5
Visible crew/equipment: In the episode where the doctor tries to save the woman who is drowning, when he enters the water for the second time just as he says "there's someone else out there", you can easily see the keel water of the boat or Jet Ski that is filming him. (00:02:45)

Continuity mistake: The woman from Desmond's photo is totally different the second time we see it, but Desmond and the background are exactly the same as before.
Visible crew/equipment: As Jack, Michael, and Charlie walk up to Hurley, the camera goes to the left of Hurley and you can see a road to the right of him and directly behind him a fence. If you look closely you can see a car parked under one of the trees. This can be seen in both the T.V. and DVD versions. (00:18:20)

Continuity mistake: When Kate pulls Ray from the burning pickup, in the first shot as she drags him across the grass his overall suspenders are not on - they are not clasped shut. However, as Kate drags him, a few shots later the suspenders are properly clasped on. (00:30:50)

Continuity mistake: After Kate and Sawyer find the corpses underwater, the marshal's Halliburton case that Sawyer retrieves has two protruding wide silver clasps to the handle's sides, and a thin, narrow handle with flat pivots at its base. The case that Kate tries to steal from Sawyer, and in all the following shots, has a very different style top - NO clasps whatsoever, and it has a round, wide handle with raised round pivots. The Halliburton with clasps is also seen in "Exodus 1" with the airport security officer. (00:06:10 - 00:12:20)

Revealing mistake: When Kate is with Ray in his pickup, he wears his wedding band on his left hand, and his right arm is prosthetic. After the wreck, when Kate pulls him from the cab and onto the grass, he wears his ring on his right hand, the door and Kate's bracelet are also on the wrong side - obviously a flipped shot. Exodus (2) - S1-E24
Visible crew/equipment: After Sawyer is rescued and pulled onto the raft, scenery or a crew boat is visible in the top right hand corner as Michael stands up. (00:34:30)
Chosen answer: None of the main characters died in the plane crash. Many died on the island after the crash (Jack, Charlie, Sun, Jin, Daniel, Juliet, others), some lived on the island for an apparently long time after the crash (Hurley, Ben, Bernard, Rose) but some lived lives off the island after the crash (Sawyer, Kate, Claire, Miles, Aplert, and Lapidus). Remember that Christian tells Jack that "time has no meaning here," (in Purgatory). When everyone meets at the church, they are at the end of their lives however long that may have been and will now "move on" together. They look like they did on the island because that is the way they best remember each other.
