Give 'em the Axe (2) - S1-E24

Corrected entry: At the end, Batman mentions "Aunt Harriet's home-cooked meals" to Robin while they're well within earshot of Riddler and his henchmen, who are all restrained, but not unconscious. That's dropping a pretty big clue to their secret identities - a mistake Batman would be much too smart to make. (00:22:00)

Correction: Mentioning Aunt Harriet's name would hardly be a clue to Batman's secret identity. First, she isn't even Batman/Bruce Wayne's aunt. Additionally, other non-relatives (like the Commissioner) call her Aunt Harriet. And, even though the audience can hear Batman, there's no reason to think the goons are in "ear-shot".

Bishop73

Correction: When the baddies climb out from the Batmobile's trunk, the trunk is open at 00:17:43. Then we don't even see the trunk again until 00:19:54, when the brawl breaks out, and Robin jumps atop the Batmobile and slams the trunk closed.

Super Grover

Correction: That's the point of the clue, to contain the information without giving it away. By saying out loud H two O's it leads Robin to say the formula for water. The H and O's in the clue don't represent hydrogen and oxygen; just like a clue with a sheep (ewe) represents "you".

Batman trivia picture

Trivia: The 1966 T.V. Batmobile was created from a decade-old "concept show car" designed and built in 1955 by Ford's Lincoln Division. It was called the Lincoln Futura, and was originally a pearlescent pale green. After several years on the car show rounds (and an appearance in one movie, repainted red), it was sold for $1 to George Barris who stored it outdoors for 6 years. When FOX called looking for Barris to build a car for the show, they gave him 3 weeks, so he grabbed this already-weird looking car he had out back, sketched a few changes and passed the physical work to Bill Cushenberry. It was finished on time and the rest is history.

Answer: It's wasn't unusual for multiple actors to play one character on this show. The villains on the TV Batman were played by guest stars, not regular cast members. George Sanders, Otto Preminger, and Eli Wallach played the part at various times. They may simply have only wanted to play the part once or twice, or they were later tied up with other projects, making it necessary to cast someone else. Other characters, like Catwoman, were also played by more than one actress.
