Question: In the very first episode of Transformers, you see them on Cybertron, millions of years before they crash land on Earth. Why is it that Optimus already resembles a semi truck? The truck parts are visible, the windows, doors, and tires and such. They don't scan Earth to look like vehicles till millions of years later. I never understood that.

Chosen answer: The toys came first, the cartoon and the movies came later, they were hardly going to let a small detail like that get in the way of business. So basically it's a deliberate mistake.

The Rebirth (3) - S4-E3

Question: What exactly happens to the Decepticons? Because at the end we see Galvatron flying in a ship with a Quintesson, surly the producers could have killed Galvatron, but just leaving us with a cliffhanger that will never be answered? Can someone tell me if anything happened after that?

Answer: The cliffhanger was never followed up on: basically, that's it for these characters!

Question: Was there a series after the three episodes called 'The rebirth' called Transformers: Headmasters? Because I saw an old video of Transformers in a shop once called that, or is it just 'The rebirth' I saw?

Answer: The Headmasters series was in place of The Rebirth (ignoring its events) it was drawn by the same animation company but translated from Japanese scripts into English without any of the original voice actors returning to their roles, likely Japanese actors with good English and subsequently the translated scripts, and story lines, were terrible. Names didn't match up after translation (Blaster becomes "Billy", Blurr becomes known as "Wally", Jazz is "Marshall", Hot Rod is "Rodimus" (pronounced "Roadimus"), the Matrix becomes "the Power Pack", Spike is "Sparkle", Soundblaster is "New Soundwave", Metroplex is called "Philip", Cerebros is "Fortress", and Fortress Maximus is known as "Spaceship Bruce") So, the resulting series was barely watchable, I bought the whole box set myself several years ago and only ever sat through it once.

Answer: There was a longer Japanese series called 'Headmasters' that ignored Rebirth and took it from there. However, The Rebirth was released on video in some markets as 'Headmasters'. Depending on where and when you saw the video, it's likely Rebirth.

Question: When and how did the Great War end? I know the original Transformers ended its US run after the 3-part Headmasters, but Generation 1 continued on in Japan in Super God Masterforce, Victory, Zone, Return of Convoy, and Operation: Combination. Which cartoon ending is considered "official," the US one which finished its run in the 80's with Headmasters or the Japanese one that ended in 1992 with Operation: Combination?

Answer: It is whichever ending you want. There is no 'real' set or canon ending to the war. The only semi-resolution is Beast Wars occasionally hints at the Autobots winning (before the Maximal upgrade). However, Beast Wars is a combination of the US cartoon and the US comic, and excludes most of the Japanese continuity. So it is really up to you as to what you want to believe. Most people seem to 'accept' the US universe, ending with Beast Machines.

Answer: This was actually one of many errors in Transformers, the Constructicons MUST have been built on Cybertron, the only transformers genuinely built on earth were the dinobots, reason being Vector Sigma has to give personalities to each and every robot, else they end up like the dinobots, very simple and dumb. For reference watch the episode "The Key to Vector Sigma" which introduces the Stunticons and Arielbots - both Megatron and Optimus Prime have to go to Vector Sigma to get decent personality traits installed, prior to this the new robots are controlled by remote controllers and have no AI.

Call of the Primitives - S3-E26

Question: When all the animal transformers start to follow the call, Soundwave states that his ejection has activated by itself. After Ravage and Ratbat, who are those other two tapes?

Answer: These two were 'dinosaur' cassettes Overkill and Slugfest, then-new toys. They turn up this once and that's it, though.
