Trivia: After Peter gets struck by lightning and Death appears, there is a shot of the sky and the clouds seem to break apart and the sun comes out. This looks remarkably like the beginning of the opening credits for "The Simpsons," another show on FOX.
Trivia: One of the best local jokes in the show is naming the Jr. High after the very notorious Providence mayor Buddy Cianci Jr., who is currently indicted and serving time.
Trivia: The three skyscrapers that can often be seen on the horizon behind the Griffin's house are the actual buildings One Financial Center, 50 Kennedy Plaza and the Bank of America Tower in Providence, Rhode Island.

Trivia: When they're in the dog universe, Stewie says, "Gosh Brian, I sure hope this next leap will be the leap home." This is a line from the opening of the TV series Quantum Leap.

Trivia: The joke about Harrison Ford being the only actor whose career wasn't destroyed by Star Wars reportedly offended Mark Hamill. After the trilogy's success, Hamill became famous as a voice actor, playing the Green Goblin on "Spider-Man" and, more prominently, the Joker on various animated "Batman" series.

Trivia: When Jabba (Joe) is being choked, he says "Gichie gichie ya ya ya! Dada mocha chocalata ya ya!" These are some of the lyrics from the Labelle song "Lady Marmalade."

Trivia: When Peter, Joe, Cleveland and Quagmire walk into the Drunken Clam Disco, the music playing is "A Fifth of Beethoven" by Walter Murphy, who composes the music for the show.
Fifteen Minutes of Shame - S2-E12
Trivia: When the Griffin family is replaced by actors on their reality show, Lois complains that she sounds nothing like what Fran Drescher makes her out to. Ironically, Drescher in this episode is actually voiced by Alex Borstein, who also voices Lois.
Trivia: "Something, Something, Something, Dark Side" is the only one of the three "Star Wars" spoofs in which the title doesn't come from something related to "Star Wars." It instead comes from a cutaway gag in the season 5 episode "Barely Legal."
Trivia: Upon seeing Joe is handicapped, Peter exclaims "holy crip, he's a crapple." Such an error in speech, in which vowels or consonants in a word are switched around (i.e. He meant "Holy Crap, he's a cripple"), is called a spoonerism; somewhat appropriately, the Griffins and their neighbors live on Spooner Street.
Trivia: According to Seth MacFarlane, all of the abuse Meg suffers is due to the show's male writers' inability to write for a teenage girl.

Trivia: Denise Crosby, who guest stars as herself, is a distant cousin of Seth MacFarlane.
Mister Act - S20-E11
Trivia: When Peter first breaks out into a solo, the song he's parodying is "Tragedy" by the Bee Gees. Barry Gibbs was notorious for singing in a high voice (falsetto). At the end, during the tribute to rarely used exercise equipment, an instrumental version of "Tragedy" is played.
Trivia: In the flashback, young Lois is crying because the kids said she's MADtv funny and not SNL funny. Alex Borstein, who voices Lois, spent 5 seasons on MADtv.
Trivia: When Peter says "Mazel tov" and Lois asks where that came from, he says "from Marvelous Mrs. Mazel Tov. You should know that, Lois." Alex Borstein (who voices Lois) stars in the show "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel."
Trivia: At the end of the episode, Peter shows he has one brain cell left. Inside his head, it shows the brain cell alone with glasses and saying he has time to read his books before leaning over. The glasses fall off and break, where he starts to cry that he had time to read them now but can't. This is a direct reference to this same thing happening in the 8th episode of season 1 of Twilight Zone where the last man alive breaks his glasses before he can read all the books he wants. Trivia: Lois tells everyone she met a guy named Derek and he was a white supremacist. This scene is referring to the movie American History X. The character even resembles Edward Norton who plays Derek Vinyard. (00:18:55)
