Continuity mistake: When they are bowling, Malcolm decides to walk up the alley to make a strike. The shot behind him shows him walking into the lane. When the shot switches to the front, he's walking over the line again.

Continuity mistake: When Sara first goes into the attic, she starts to draw a circle around her with a piece of chalk. When she starts the circle, she starts drawing next to the candle. When she completes the circle, the candle is now inside the circle. If you look at the lines on the floor when she finishes, you can see that she did not go around the candle.

Continuity mistake: When Snape is insulting Hermione on being a know-it-all while he is substituting for Lupin, he has a slide show running. The shot shows Hermione with the projector behind her. The projector now changes slides fully and stops moving. When the shot changed back to Snape, the slide is still changing. It could not be the next slide because the slide changes every few seconds. Deliberate mistake: The wings of the hippogriff are much shorter when folded up than when flying. According to the animators, the wings would have to be huge to carry the weight of the hippogriff when flying, but so big that they would drag on the ground when folded up. Other mistake: In the song "A Rumor in St. Petersburg," according to the closed captioning, the characters sing the words "no proof of fact." According to the lyrics in the soundtrack booklet, they are actually singing "or through a crack." And if you listen, it's actually what they are saying.

Continuity mistake: When Ronica first goes into the glass dome to tell Cody and Natalie that they need to go, Natalie grabs her jacket. Then a minute or so later, when they are standing with the head of E.R.I.S., she still doesn't have it on. Then the shot goes back to Cody and then back to Natalie being shoved into a chair. There she has the jacket on. There's no possible way she could have got it on because she was being held by E.R.I.S. workers.

Continuity mistake: When Ronica first finds Cody after he leaves to search for Natalie, the straps on the flying thing have shoulder straps. Later in the movie, they don't.
