Yu-Gi-Oh! GX (2004)

Head in the Clouds: Part 1 - S3-E7

Deliberate mistake: Chazz and Adrian take part in a duel where they stand on glass platforms that are suspended in the air, held by helicopters flying above them and are positioned at least a hundred meters apart. They appear to have no problem communicating back and forth, despite the large distance between the two and the helicopter rotors loudly spinning above them.

Head in the Clouds: Part 1 - S3-E7

Deliberate mistake: Adrian walks outside the Obelisk Blue dorm to see Chazz standing on a glass platform held up by four cables on each corner, which are attached to a helicopter flying above. Adrian then realises he is standing on a glass platform, held by cables and attached to a helicopter. There is no way he wouldn't have noticed this; he should've seen the cables, heard the helicopter and felt the glass platform beneath him when he walked onto it, even if it makes for a cool reveal. Etowâru saibâ - S1-E3

Deliberate mistake: There is a shot of Alexis getting blasted with electricity when Etoile Cyber is attacked by Sparkman. This same shot is reused later in the episode when she attacked directly by Elemental Hero Thunder Giant, as the electricity and Alexis' position in the shot is the same. (00:12:20 - 00:18:36)

The Simpsons Game mistake picture

Deliberate mistake: Game Over: Just after the gates to heaven have closed on Homer and Bart, the two look up and see Shakespeare standing on a floating cloud just above the gate. However, in the initial wide shot of the gates when everyone else was running through it, Shakespeare could not be seen floating above it, presumably to make his character reveal more amusing.

Deliberate mistake: Bargain Bin: When Homer mistakes the video game boss for his literal boss, he takes out a clipboard so that he can look busy. Aside from being part of the set up for a joke, there is no reason for Homer to have this clipboard on him, nor would there have been anywhere for him to have been hiding it (unless it was just tucked into the back of the trousers).

The Simpsons Game mistake picture

Deliberate mistake: Game Over: When God has finished explaining how the Simpsons Game manual ended up landing in front of Bart, Homer raises a baseball bat with wings on. While it makes for an amusing moment, this bat was never seen in Homer's hands at any other point in the cutscene, nor was there anywhere for him to put it.

The Langoliers (1995)

Deliberate mistake: The version of Earth that our main characters spend the story trapped in, is one individual second in the past that is identical to Earth in every way, with the only exceptions being there is no life or power. The Langoliers consume all the land in this one second and the remnants fall into a huge abyss. However, if this were like Earth, there should be thousands upon thousands of miles of soil beneath the land, but this is ignored for the sake of the plot.

Suggested correction: It is assumed that the Langoliers ate everything below that point to the Earth's core too.

Deliberate mistake: Game Over: When the large crowd of people are looking at the complete stairway to heaven, they are standing a large distance away from it. Then suddenly, the crowd is right in front of it. The crowd and the stairway are not shown in the same shot, but Lisa (who is standing in front of it) looks to the crowd and says "Come on everyone" and they proceed to run up along with her, so they are closer.

Deliberate mistake: The surviving passengers are all awoken from a deep sleep after Dinah realises the other passengers have gone. Yet none of them appear drowsy or tired and none of their eyes appear strained, despite having just woken up so suddenly. (00:09:20)

Mirage (2018)

Deliberate mistake: When Nico breaks the window in the door to Angel's kitchen, the entire window is broken, aside from one large piece of glass along the bottom of the window frame. When Angel finds the broken window later in the movie, the damage to the window has changed; there are now various pieces of glass around the frame. (00:49:50 - 01:35:13)

Deliberate mistake: When Nico finds Hilda's body at the start of the movie, her left arm is shown next to her body, and her right arm is outstretched. When her death is shown later in the movie, both arms are outstretched when she lands on the floor. (00:05:50 - 01:30:55)

Mystic Pop-up Bar (2020)

Episode #1.10 - S1-E10

Deliberate mistake: After it is revealed Won-hyung has taken over Yeom's body, he is shown walking alone on the street and says aloud "She's not afraid of going to Hell? I can't make it so easy for her. Will she be able to leave behind the person she's been pining for so easily? I can't wait to watch the heart-rending sight." There is no reason for him to say this out loud. He is alone and not talking to anyone. The only reason he is saying this is so that the audience knows his plan. (00:33:23)

Lolita (1962)

Deliberate mistake: When Humbert is walking through Quilty's mansion at the start of the movie, a bottle is placed near the top of a chair covered in a sheet, which is later revealed to be covering Quilty; the bottle is also shown to be placed on top of Quilty's head. This same scene is shown a second time at the end of the movie, but the bottle near the top of the chair cannot be seen. There is a second bottle on Quilty's lap that can be seen in both the two scenes, but the bottle on Quilty's head cannot be seen the second time around. The two scenes were likely filmed two seperate times. (00:02:50 - 02:32:18)

Lolita (1962)

Deliberate mistake: When Humbert shouts Quilty's name when he is in his mansion, a bottle can be seen rolling off a chair covered in a sheet in the background. It is then revealed that Quilty was sitting on the chair, with the sheet covered over him, and the bottle was placed on top of his head, over the sheet. It is also shown that him waking up was what caused the bottle to roll off the chair. The bottle's position on the chair before Quilty awoke could not have been possible. Even if Quilty was able to place the sheet over him before passing out, he could not have been able to place the bottle over his head and he could not have been able to balance the bottle over his head whilst he was asleep unless he remained completely still all throughout his sleep. This was likely done deliberately as a way of letting Humbert and the audience know where Quilty was, but still make little sense in the context of the movie. (00:03:25)

The Handmaiden (2016)

Deliberate mistake: In the Extended Cut, when Fujiwara arrives at the mansion, he asks Sook-Hee "So are you carrying out your duties faithfully", then Hideko says "Thank you for introducing her." Later on, when a scene also included in the Extended Cut shows the same scene play a second time, after Fujiwara says "So are you carrying out your duties faithfully" to Sook-Hee, the two share some strange looks that weren't shown the first time. This was done because the moment between them was a scene that was included in the Theatrical Cut, the first time his arrival was shown, but was altered in the Extended Cut to not show this, because their true reason for being at the mansion was not revealed until later and including this brief moment would have given the twist away too early, whereas the Theatrical Cut included a scene that established their intentions much earlier on. The Extended Cut included these brief glances when shown the second time, but still makes for an inconsistency between the two scenes. (00:23:35 - 01:52:00)

The Handmaiden (2016)

Deliberate mistake: When Sook-Hee is first shown her bed chamber, just after Sasaki leaves, she slides open the door to Hideko's room to look inside. After a 5-6 second silence, a thump sound is heard and Sook-Hee quickly closes the door. Later in the movie, when this same scene is shown a second time from Hideko's perspective, the thump sound, which is revealed to be Hideko banging her doll against the wall, occurs 11-12 seconds after Sook-Hee slides the door open. Blade Runner 2049 (2017)

Deliberate mistake: When Deckard wakes up in Wallace Corporation, there is a wide shot of the platform he is on. All four corners of the platform are empty in the wide shot. Deckard then looks at Wallace's visual aids as they float away, and then realises Wallace is standing in the corner directly facing where he is sitting, speaking to him. This corner was empty in the wide shot, with no sign of Wallace. Wallace could not have entered in between shots because Deckard would have seen him approaching or at the very least, heard his footsteps. This was likely done intentionally as to not give Wallace's reveal away too early. (02:08:55)
