General questions

There's a video clip online of Jennifer Love Hewitt dancing during an audition to be a cheerleader. Does anyone know what movie/TV show it's from? Can't seem to find the info anywhere.

Answer: The movie is from 1998. It is called "Can't Hardly Wait" starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, Selma Blair and Seth Green. May alternatively be from TV series The Byrds of Paradise. It ran for one season in the 90's. A midwest family moved to Hawaii. Jennifer played the daughter, who did a hip dance routine as an audition for the cheerleading squad.

Jarhead (2005)

Question: Who is the guy getting on the bus yelling "Semper Fi" at the end of the movie?

Answer: He was just an old former Marine (I would assume a Vietnam vet) that wanted to congratulate the Marines, and give them a better welcome home than the Vietnam vets ever got.

Hide and Seek (2005)

Question: During the climax, as Charlie is walking down the hall, he is saying something that sounds like quiet chanting. This is after he has finished singing 'Daddy's gonna buy you a Mockingbird'. Does anyone know what he's saying?

Answer: He keeps singing "mockingbird" over and over, but it is more of a mumbling by this point. Turn on the subtitles and you can see this.

Question: Why does Stone shoot at the water after he jumps from the train?

Answer: To break the surface of the water making an easier penetration. Hitting water at high speeds can be like hitting concrete. By stirring up the water it "softens" the impact.

The Wraith (1986)

Question: What are those devices we see disappear from the wraith's arm and after the second and third race supposed to be?

Mister Ed

Chosen answer: I believe they are markers to show how many people are left to take revenge on for his death.

EMTurbo

The problem with that answer is that the Wraith had to kill five people (Oggie, Minty, Skank, Gutterboy and Packard) and he only had four of those metal braces. If he had one for each gang member he wanted revenge on, he would have had five. I think he was only given four chances to crash his car and reassemble, and once they were gone, that was it. That's why he killed Skank and Gutterboy at the same time.

Ceasefire - S1-E23

Question: General Clayton says that he confirmed the news of a ceasefire with "CINCOMPAC" (according to the subtitles). What the heck is CINCOMPAC?

Answer: It is actually Cencompac for Central Command of the Pacific. It is like the headquarters for all military activity in the Pacific Region (Japan, Korea, Okinawa, etc. The newer version of that is United States Pacific Command (USPACOM).

And the abbreviations were used mainly by the Navy. Especially CENCOMPAC.

General questions

I am trying to find the title to a movie. The main part I remember is an old mafia boss in a wheelchair that jumps out of it to save a baby's life to achieve "pennance" with God. Any ideas? I think Jeff Speakman was in it.

EMTurbo

Chosen answer: The name of the movie is Crackerjack, and the main character is Thomas Ian Griffith, not Jeff Speakman.
