Continuity mistake: When Clarice is searching the basement, the first door she approaches is hinged on the left and opens towards her. She opens it, and it turns into a door that has the hinges on the right and opens away from her. (01:43:50)

Suggested correction: There are two doors in that part of the basement. The one she enters is hinged on the left and opens inward. But the other door - the one she exited through to look for Jame Gumb - is hinged on the right and swings outward.

Jaws (1975)

Corrected entry: After Hooper cuts open the Tiger shark, he tells Brody that it isn't the shark. He adds "you still got a hell of a fish out there, with a mouth about this big." He indicates size of the bite by holding his hands about 2 feet apart. This estimate is based on the bite marks on the first victim. Of course, later we see the shark's bite radius is much larger, around 3 to 4 feet. Hooper is a shark expert and should be able to more accurately determine bite radius. (00:44:30)

djm

Correction: Clearly nobody involved, including Hooper, believed a shark as large as the one later seen could exist. His estimate was based on what he concluded could be the largest shark out there.

Hooper is a shark expert. His bite radius estimate should be based on the available facts, like the actual bite marks in the victim, and not what he thought would be the biggest shark. It's pretty difficult the get the bite radius wrong by a foot or more when you have clear bite marks in the victim.

djm

Unless a bite radius can be estimated by the distance between puncture marks, Hooper had no way of knowing how large the shark actually is. As the previous correction states, he's using his own knowledge and experience to guess the size.

Correction: All that was left of the one and only victim that he examined, Chrissy Watkins, were pieces so effectively you could argue there were no bite marks, and he was making an assessment of best judgment and experience. Either way, 2 feet is still a big mouth.

Breaking Bad (2008)

Show generally

Other mistake: The configuration of the front side of the house does not match the configuration from the inside. The outside view looking at the house from the street indicates (1) there are no rooms to the right of the garage (when inside there are rooms on the side of the garage). Also when looking at house from street side, to the left of the front door the house comes forward. When inside, (at least in episode 13, season 3) the inside of the house does not extend forward towards the street.

Suggested correction: If you research "The Breaking Bad House" you will see that the house used was filmed both inside and out, so this error couldn't have happened.

The garage is shown to have an interior door. Walt comes through it when he is showing baby Holly the money hidden behind the insulation. However, the is no corresponding door inside the house. The interior house scenes, at least most of them, must be a set.

djm

Wrong, the interior of the house is a set, and there are numerous inconsistencies that show this. One, being the location of the fireplace, and the other being an interior door to access the garage.

Breaking Bad (2008)

4 Days Out - S2-E9

Corrected entry: Near the start of the episode, Walt sees his PET/CT scan, the tissue mass is in the left lung. But later in the episode, the scan is reversed when the doctor is showing it to Walt. (00:03:00 - 00:44:20)

djm

Correction: When Walt first sees his PET/CT, he is looking at a reflection of the monitor, not the actual monitor. So, it would be normal for the image to be reversed.

Breaking Bad (2008)

Season 1 generally

Corrected entry: Walt steals 2 masks from the school lab. When they go cook and Crazy8 and Emilio show up, he kills them with the gas. Because of the fire he puts one of the masks on himself and the other one on Jesse and they drive away with both masks, but the DEA find one of the masks at the cook site.

Hmhmh

Correction: The mask was found by a little girl. Her mother gave it to the investigators while they were at the cook site, but that's not where it was found. Walt discarded it where the RV ran off the road.

Dexter (2006)

Crocodile - S1-E2

Corrected entry: In the scene where Dexter and his sister find the ice truck parked on the side of a busy road, you can see that the truck is a side loader, meaning it has doors on the sides. This is also the truck that Dexter saw in episode 1. This truck however turns into a back loader in the next shot when they enter the truck. They roll up the door and go in the back, even though the truck does not have a back door. Also about the truck, Dexter says that it is running to keep the back refrigerator cold, however this type of unit plugs in at night to cool it down and the metal plates inside keep it cold not the engine. (00:19:45)

Correction: Later in the show, the truck is being dismantled. It indeed opens from the back and the sides.
