Spider-Man 2 (2004)

Question: This actually refers to the whole arc of Harry Osborn's role: Why did the film-makers want him to become a villain? I know they needed one for the third movie, but why make it one of Peter's closest friends? Was it an illustration of how big a difference, for good or bad, a single misinterpretation can make? A lesson in knowing how to look at a situation from someone else's perspective as well as your own? Or, was it just a really tragic way of showing that not all of Spider-Man's foes are going to be people he feels no regret over beating the pants off?

Answer: Well the major reason is because it happened in the comics. Harry took the Goblin formula and became as crazy as his father. Here Harry is less a villain and just confused. He believes Spider-Man killed his father and wanted revenge.

Edge of Tomorrow (2014)

Question: Why exactly is the girl called The Full Metal Bitch by the other soldiers? I know she did a heroic battle before, but why that name?

Quantom X

Chosen answer: It's a nickname referencing her attitude, and the fact she is wearing a suit of metal, probably referencing the movie (or ammunition type) "Full Metal Jacket".

Question: The Queen of Egypt (I'm pretty sure her name is Tuya, but is she ever named in the film?) is portrayed as being a kind person almost every time she appears, but in the very beginning there is a moment I don't understand. When she's holding baby Moses, she throws dirty looks at the two servant girls who are with her, for seemingly no reason. What gives?

Answer: The Queen's name is never mentioned. Onto your other question she gives the stern look to "suggest" to the slave girls that they are to remain silent on where Moses came from.

Question: Megatron was brought back through the body of Galvatron because his head was recovered, although Optimus Prime previously stated that Transformers' memories are stored in their Spark in their chest. Wouldn't this mean Megatron would not have any of his memories from before?

Answer: Optimus was being dramatic when he said it contained their memories. Transformers don't carry their memories in their spark any more than humans carry theirs in their soul.

General questions

There used to be a reality television series (I can't remember the network I believe it to be USA or A&E). Basically it was a black guy and a white guy who drove around the country in an older pick up truck. They would pick people out at random and ask them what they need most, then by other companies' or peoples' acts of kindness they would get it for them. In one episode it was a cellphone, in another episode it was a job, in another an apartment. It didn't last long, maybe a season or two but it was a very well intentioned, meaningful show.

Answer: Sounds like you're talking about "Barter Kings".

Ocean's Eleven (2001)

Question: How does the little bomb they plant destroy the door to the vault, and why does the security system in place when Yen is in the box suddenly stop working, allowing them to pack the money up?

Answer: The green gems we see Yen place on the door are actually explosives. When Danny sets off the detonator these blow the hinges on the vault door and the systems that control the field on the ground. Earlier Livingston entered the security room so he has a connection to the security. When Yen entered, he switched the feed to footage of the empty vault.

Question: Why are the Malloy twins referred to as twins (I don't see any resemblance)?

Answer: They could be fraternal twins. Fraternal twins don't always share a resemblance.

Wreck-It Ralph (2012)

Question: Why are there some characters (Bowser, Sonic, etc.) able to be in the Game Central Station when they're solely console-based characters, and none of them have appeared in arcade form? I know the sequel is going to touch base on console games and tablet games coming together with arcade characters.

Answer: Sonic has appeared in arcade games such as the arcade version of Sonic the Hedgehog, and Sonic Sega All Stars Racing. Bowser has appeared in Versus Super Mario Bros and Mario Kart Arcade GP, as well as an arcade version of Super Mario 3. Though both games for Bowser are rarely seen in the US it's not unreasonable to think Litwak would have these games at his arcade.

Robocop (1987)

Question: When Robocop is about to arrest Jones, he suddenly feels his system malfunctioning. Jones then explains that Directive 4 is used to shut him down if he attempts to arrest a senior officer of OCP. Why did Jones put this directive into Robocop? At the time nobody knew he was working with Boddicker.

Answer: Because he knew he was doing illegal activities. Robocop was said to be highly efficient at his job and Jones did not want to risk him out on the streets without the insurance of shutting him down if Robo came after him.

The Shining (1980)

Question: My media studies teacher has a theory that there are no ghosts in this film and everything that Jack sees is in his imagination. He also thinks that when Wendy sees the man in the costume, it is meant to be a realisation to her that Danny may be a victim of sexual assault, from his father, Jack. He also believes that the costume is a bear and that Jack is associated with a bear throughout the film. He says that Danny may have opened the pantry door to let Jack out because he had formulated a plan to kill Jack by getting him lost in the maze. Also, the woman in 237, he thinks that there is no woman and that Jack himself hurt Danny's neck. Leading to Wendy's realisation of Jack's abusiveness. I'm not really sure if I agree with him or not. There are a lot of holes in his theory, but you never know. Just wondering if anyone would like to share their opinion and shed some light on the situation. Do you think his theory is possible?

Answer: The sexual assault thing is completely wrong. As far as the rest, it is highly debated. However, ghosts, I think, is the accepted answer. Some of the things that Wendy and Danny see can't be explained by Jack's psychosis. Also, the costume is suppose to be a dog. There is a whole back story to that character.

Sherlock Holmes (2009)

Question: Lord Blackwood dies through a set of circumstances that cause him to be hanged via chain. My question is this - was it merely coincidence that he ended up in the wrong place and the wrong time for the chain of events to kill him? Or did Holmes know it was going to happen that way it did? It seems a little too convenient to me, so I can't help but wonder if Holmes knew the crane would collapse as it did, setting off the chain of events. (Whether or not he knew if would kill Blackwood).

Answer: It was a coincidence.

Wreck-It Ralph (2012)

Question: King Kandy, actually being Turbo, is not native to Sugar Rush. But instead of dying when eaten by a cy-bug, he merges into that cy-bug and becomes it. How is it possible that King Kandy is not killed when eaten by a cy-bug? Would have happened to Ralph or anyone else if they got eaten by a cy-bug?

Answer: Calhoun mentions that the Cybugs become what they eat, hence one developing guns after eating a gun, and others developing candy features after eating the candy of sugar rush. The cybug that ate King Kandy became King Kandy, so it's easy to assume, yes, the same thing would happen to Ralph or anyone else.

Question: What is the significance of the red markings on the doors of some of the buildings after the monster visit? Are they specific to the people that live inside these buildings? Are they on all doors or specifically selected doors?

Answer: The markings on the doors were to scare the young villagers. No other reason is mentioned.

M. Knight used red in sixth sense too. Must signify something. Maybe bc the monsters robes were red and the villagers were to bury all red objects.
