Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol

Factual error: When Tom Cruise chases the villain in a parking lot in Mumbai, the "Parking" sign is written in Kannada (the scene was shot in the Sun Network station at Bangalore). Regional signs in Mumbai are in Hindi or Marathi (the state language of Maharashtra, of which Mumbai is the capital).

Factual error: The cars in the car park scene are left hand drive (specially the ones involving the main action scenes), but the sequence is set in India, where the cars are right hand drive.

Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When Ethan wakes up in the hospital he realises he's handcuffed to the bed. In the closeup of his right hand, the handcuff is around his wrist with its single metal bar facing out and the double bar facing Ethan, but when the nurse moves his gurney the handcuff is around his right wrist the opposite way, with the double bars facing out. Quite impossible for this to occur. (00:31:50)

Trivia: The language spoken in the video by Kurt Hendricks (in the IMF section of the train) is not Russian, despite the eagle and nametags in Russian, but Swedish, Mikael Nyqvist's (the actor portraying Kurt Hendricks) native language.

Trivia: At one point in time, this was going to be the final entry in the series to star Tom Cruise. As originally intended, Cruise (Ethan Hunt) would have retired from field work at the end of the film and become the new head of IMF, while Jeremy Renner would become the new series lead. This was reportedly in part due to several infamous incidents involving Cruise in the mid-2000's, including his notorious Oprah Winfrey interview. These events caused issues during the promotion of "Mission: Impossible III," and the studio was still nervous about them years later. Eventually, cooler heads prevailed, and Cruise was thankfully allowed to stay with the series.

Trivia: The number A113 (which appeared in Brad Bird's previous films The Incredibles and Ratatouille) makes two appearances here. The first is on the side of Hanaway's ring in the flashback sequence, and the second is verbally as Ethan's agent ID that he recites through the phone after he escapes from the hospital. (00:14:40)

Question: What does Hendricks mean by "lock Russian Central Command out of the system" when preparing the launch? Wasn't the satellite already owned by the billionaire (with the central command in India)?

ricardoglez22

Chosen answer: The missile launches from a Russian silo. They want to stop them preventing the launch locally.

Question: How did they locate Hendricks inside the TV station? I don't understand how the nuclear codes help.

ricardoglez22

Chosen answer: The code Jane got from Brij Nath (the Indian billionaire) was not a nuclear launch code, it was an access code for an old Russian satellite Nath owned, which Hendricks was using to launch the missile. Once Benji had the codes, he used the satellite to locate where Hendricks was also accessing the satellite from the TV station.

Question: What's The Fog's angle? Why does he tell on Ethan to Sidorov? Ethan intended this so that Sidorov would later find him. But as far as The Fog is concerned, what does he gain?

Answer: He considers Hunt to be a friend, so did what he asked. In addition, by carrying out the deal he has ingratiated himself with Sidorov as well.
