Trivia: Almost all film musicals have the singing overdubbed later, but in this movie the singing heard was actually being performed live on set. The actors all wore hidden earpieces, and a pianist played the music for them live, as well.

Trivia: Frances Ruffelle, who played Eponine in the original London and Broadway casts of Les Miserables, makes a cameo during Lovely Ladies.

Trivia: Eponine was supposed to be in Jean Valjean's death scene, just like in the stage version. Some of it was filmed but was eventually canceled.

Trivia: Cameron Macintosh, Claude-Michel Schoenberg and Michael Le Poer Trench made a cameo in the finale.

Continuity mistake: Towards the end of "Stars" the camera is behind Javert while he faces out towards the city. On the right, you can see clouds being illuminated by an absent moon that is off screen but behind said clouds yet the moon reflects off of the left side of his face.
