Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Trivia: Dodge yells to the apes behind bars, "it's a mad house! A mad house!" This line was said by Taylor when he was behind bars in the original "Planet of the Apes" film.

Trivia: Caesar was the first to acquire speech and say NO to Tom Felton when he was beating him in the primate exhibit with the taser. This was also a tribute to the Escape of the Planet of the Apes movie that describes the gorilla General Aldo as the first ape to acquire the power of speech—and the first to say "No!" to his human captors.

Tricia Webster

Trivia: Dodge says to Caesar, "Take your stinking paws off me, you damned dirty ape!" This is the first line Taylor said in the original "Planet of the Apes film."

Trivia: In order to show he is in charge, Dodge sprays Caesar with a fire hose. This was done to Taylor by his ape guard in the original "Planet of the Apes" film.

Revealing mistake: When the apes jump out of the lab windows out to the street, they don't cast a shadow on any of the glass except the ones on the ground floor.

Question: Why didn't the ape-keeper, Rodney, simply shoot Caesar? He was in the sniping platform, he was aiming the tranquilizer rifle, he had a clear shot, but he just lowered his rifle and fled when Caesar yelled "No!" for the first time. If Rodney had pulled the trigger, the ape rebellion would have been nipped in the bud.

Charles Austin Miller

Chosen answer: Rodney was against the cruelty that fellow ape-keeper Dodge displays toward the apes and was likely hesitant to shoot Caeser at first. When Caesar yelled "No!", Rodney lowered his rifle from shock. Caesar then starts running around chanting "No!", and because he's running around Rodney no longer has a clear shot, and then he panics and flees having just seen an ape speak.
