Little Women

Marmee March has four children: Meg, the sensible one, Josephine, the tomboyish writer with a lust for life, Beth, the so-called shy girl who has enough extroversion in her to go to a poor family's house, and Amy, the extroverted loudmouthed selfish girl who loves art. Together they brave their poor surroundings (haha, they think it is poor) and survive without the man of the house. Meanwhile, trying to insinuate himself into their lives is Laurie, a good looking very rich neighbor who is being tutored by another good looking man who fancies Meg. Laurie loves Jo and Amy is jealous. The girls do little betrayals to each other but still love each other in the end.

Continuity mistake: When Laurie sees Amy painting in Europe, in his closeup he takes the cigarette out of his mouth and throws it on the ground. But in the next shot, with Amy in the foreground, as Laurie is walking towards her in the background, notice how he, once again, removes the cigarette from his mouth and throws it on the ground. Trivia: In reality the girls' father, Amos Bronson Alcott, was never in the war nor wounded. However, Jo (Louisa May Alcott, the author of Little Women) was a nurse in Washington D.C. in 1862 and when she fell ill it was her father who had to go to Washington to get her.
