Continuity mistake: In the cafeteria, when Bella sits for the first time with Angela, Jessica, Mike and Eric she has her arms crossed. When Angela takes her picture Bella's arms are unfolded. Then the shot changes and her arms are crossed again. (00:07:35)
Continuity mistake: When Bella says, "Why did you hate me so much when we met?" Edward's face is very close to hers and his right hand is placed with the palm on a branch. In the next shot, his face is further away, and now it's only his fingertips which are touching the branch. (00:52:30)

Continuity mistake: In the ballet studio fight scene, Bella grasps an injured right leg with her left hand. When Bella is in the hospital, the cast is obviously on the left leg which is under the blanket-the silhouette of the leg is straight and much larger than the right leg, which is thinner, flexed and has skin exposed at an area which would have been covered had it been in a bandage or cast. But when she and Edward go to prom, the injured leg is again the right leg, which is in a cast.
Continuity mistake: When Edward runs op the mountain with Bella on his back - to show her how he looks in the sunlight - she changes position two times, when the angle changes. (00:49:30)
Continuity mistake: When Waylon is on the boat just before he hears the growling noise, between shots a mysterious white object appears on the boat, next to him and his bottle of whiskey. (00:33:40)
Continuity mistake: In the scene right before Edward saves Bella from being crushed by the van, we see her truck parked straight in the parking space and closer to the curb. After Edward pushes her away and the van hits the rear of her truck, it is shown parked farther from the curb, and the back end which was just hit is moved out farther from the curb instead of closer.
Continuity mistake: During baseball game in the clearing, Rosalie's back shot shows her neatly curled hair. Front shot, her hair is kind of a mess.
Continuity mistake: When Edward and Bella are laying in the meadow, between shots the position of Bella's hair keeps changing from either being on her shoulder, or being spread out on her chest. (00:54:20)
Continuity mistake: In the green house scene, the two girls right in front of Bella have dark hair, and then after she trips it pans out to show a girl wearing a hat and pink shirt. (00:26:40)
Continuity mistake: On the day Edward returns to Biology, there is a microscope on the table. It is sitting at an angle on the table when Bella walks into the classroom. When she sits down, it has moved and is now straight, parallel to the table's edge. (00:16:10)
Answer: Edward is able to read anyone's mind "except" for Bella's. He cannot understand why and that confuses and frustrates him. It is learned later that Bella has an unknown ability to block any mental intrusion. That is why Aro could not see Bella's memories and why Jane was unable to mentally inflict pain on her in "Twilight: New Moon."
