Lethal Weapon

Trivia: Mel Gibson references the Three Stooges several times in the film. In real life, Gibson is a big Stooges fan, and in 2000, he produced the biographical TV movie "The Three Stooges."

Trivia: During the scene in which we see Murtaugh talking to Hunsaker about his involvement with the Drug dealers. Hunsaker mentions 'Air America', a CIA front during Vietnam. Air America was a film regarding this very thing, starring Mel Gibson and filmed three years after Lethal Weapon.

Trivia: The helicopter from which Hunsacker is shot by Mister Joshua is FAA registry number N230CA, meaning it's the same Bell JetRanger wearing a POLICE paint scheme that is shot down towards the end of the movie 'Blue Thunder'. (01:14:10)

Trivia: In the scene where Danny Glover and Mel Gibson are interviewing the kids who also saw the hookers house blow up, one of the kids has an orange hat on with a black "B" on it. That is the hat for the younger age groups of a summer baseball league in NYC called the "Bonnies." I know this for a fact because I played for the organization my whole life. Why would a kid in LA be wearing the hat? Only interesting to people from NYC, I guess. (01:01:00)

Trivia: During the end credits, there is a dedication to the stuntman Dar Robinson, who was killed in a motorbike accident as the film was in post-production.

Trivia: Steve Kahan (Captain Ed Murphy) is the cousin of director Richard Donner.

Trivia: Before Riggs and Murtaugh go to the jumper, Riggs buys a hot dog. In the background there is a cinema marquee advertising the movie "The Lost Boys", which director Richard Donner was also an executive producer of.

Continuity mistake: When Mel Gibson is talking about the special bullet, kept as the suicide special, he describes it as a hollow point - to do the job right. When he shows the bullet it is a full metal jacket.

Question: Who's the actor that played the jumper...? IMDB doesn't say... I thought I heard once that it's Mel Gibson's brother? He looks like the character "Johnny" in Mad Max.

Answer: The jumper's name was Len McCleary. He was played by Michael Shaner and is credited for the role in the film (and on IMDB).

Answer: Also, "Johnny The Boy" from the first Mad Max film was played by Tim Burns, according to Wikipedia; not only is he a completely different actor, but he is also obviously not Mel Gibson's brother.
