Correction: People will often not interfere because of apathy, not wanting to get involved, or because they might think someone else has already handled the situation. It's very seldom people will check to see what's going on in reality.

Corrected entry: Donna uses the elevator to go up to the third floor, however this is after the fire alarm has been set off. After alarms, for fires, bombs etc. are pulled, elevators should automatically stop working to ensure nobody is trapped within them. Such an elegant and highly established hotel would certainly have this system in use to prevent further concern in emergencies.

Correction: There's too much of a risk of trapping people inside the elevator once an alarm goes off, thereby doing exactly the opposite of allowing people to escape. In every instance, I have seen escape routes call for using the stairwell in case of fire, and *avoiding* using the elevators in case of a power outage. I can't think of one possible good reason for having an elevator stop when an alarm goes off, with the potential of trapping people inside.

Audio problem: During a scene where Donna is exiting her hotel room, she runs into Clair and both scream. However, Clair's scream cannot be heard, but an odd screeching sound is played in place of her scream, which continues even after her mouth has been closed.
