The Karate Kid

Other mistake: In the semi-final where John Lawrence fights against Darryl Vidal, the female referee has major problems of what to do. When Lawrence gets his first point, the referee first raises her red flag (Vidal is wearing the red ribbon) but then swiftly changes her mind. And when Lawrence gets his third point, the female referee again incorrectly raises her red flag.

Other mistake: During the final match, Johnny scores his second point with a forearm to Daniel's side. However it is incorrectly announced as a kick to the side. Johnny was on one knee at the time and in no position to kick him. Also, you can see Johnny throw a forearm and not a kick.

SAZOO1975

Other mistake: In the scene where Johnny and the Cobra Kais are arriving at the beach, prior to Johnny first spotting Daniel giving Ally soccer lessons, you can see a rolling helmet in between the Cobra Kais' dirt-bike pack while the bikes are still in motion.

Insynapse36

Other mistake: When Daniel, Miyagi, and Alli enter the tournament arena, they are stopped by a referee who says only fighters and coaches are allowed on the floor. They use the excuse of Ali being a translator to get her by. As they move forward you can see children in street clothes, girls with purses, old ladies, and others who are obviously not fighters or coaches.

Jody Williams

Other mistake: When Daniel and his mother have to bump start the car, she shouts to Allie to pop the clutch. There is no tell tale sign of the car reacting to the clutch being dropped, and the sound of the engine starting is preceded by the sound of the starter motor turning as if the key was used.

GalahadFairlight

Other mistake: After Tommy's arm gets broken during the skeleton fight with Miyagi he appears days later in practice drill in Kreese's dojo, with his right arm in a sling. Huffing punches like the other Cobras, which would be impossible with his injury. (00:49:45 - 00:50:45)

Suggested correction: Tommy is only punching with his good arm, which is possible. The twisting of his hips makes it appear he is using both arms.

Other mistake: In the semi final match between Johnny and Duval his name is listed behind them on the board as Vidal. But you can hear him being announced as Duval.

Suggested correction: He doesn't say "Duval", he says "Darryl Vidal." While the character isn't listed by name in the credits, only listed as "Karate Semi-finalist", he was in fact played by Darryl Vidal, who was an actual black belt at the time of the movie.

Bishop73

Other mistake: The end tournament is supposed to be only the very best trained fighters in brown and black belts. Yet the majority of opponents against the Cobras are easily defeated, with weak tactics, unlike Daniel-san and the Asian guy, who actually use fight techniques.

Suggested correction: Although this observation is accurate, keep in mind that the Cobras have a reputation as dirty and vicious fighters so it is very possible their earlier opponents were intimidated by them and therefore easily beaten.

Revealing mistake: When Daniel is running from Johnny and his gang after the bathroom incident at the dance, there's a lot of fog outside. If you look at one of the trees in the background, you can see that all the fog is being puffed out from behind the tree - obviously a fog machine.

Daniel: How did you do that? How did you do that?

Question: Why does Daniel get annoyed with Miyagi after he says Daniel was lucky he didn't hurt his hand falling off his bike?

Answer: Daniel's wounds came from fighting the Cobra Kai guys but he tells Miyagi that he was injured falling off of his bike. Miyagi sees through this and sarcastically says that he's lucky his hand wasn't hurt.

Damian Torres

I think he was also subtle letting him know he knew he didn't really fall off his bike because if he had, he would have at the very least scraped his hands...especially if he fell hard enough to cause that much damage to his face.

He was still trying to hide it. However, if you fall, you instinctively put out your hands, and they would be scraped up. Miyagi, older and experienced in life, knew better, but Daniel wasn't going to admit it outright.
