Ultraviolet

Trivia: The film is directed by Kurt Wimmer who also directed Equilibrium. Both films not only use similar battle techniques (gun kata), but William Fichtner also plays a similar role in both movies: Both roles - Garth and Jürgen - are with the underground movement against the totalitarian regime of the movie.

Christoph Galuschka

Trivia: The studio was unhappy with the first cut of the film, as it was more character-driven and would have got an R-rating, whereas they wanted a dumbed-down PG-13 action movie. The studio forcibly cut about 30 minutes of character and story development scenes out, and dumped it into theaters as quickly as possible. This forced the effects teams to use unfinished renders and animatics in many scenes, which explains why the effects are so bad... the studio didn't give them time to finish them.

Trivia: All of the guards are either carrying G36C's or SIGSauer 550's, except for one. The guard who tries to shoot Violet after she has taken the case, is carrying a heavily modified AR-15. This was done because neither a G36C or a SIGSauer 550 could be field-stripped in a matter of seconds, unlike the AR-15, the parts of which also make useful weapons, according to this film.
