The Best Years of Our Lives (1946)

Corrected entry: Fred Derry's wife Marie is shocked to see him in civilian clothes for the first time, however, in a later scene he promises to "fix you a nice meal, honey, just like I used to do behind the fountain before the war". (01:20:00 - 01:34:00)

Correction: Meaning he was in the military prior to the war. Armies don't just appear by magic when war breaks out, and the US has a very large army in the early 40s, before they entered World War 2.

Revealing mistake: When Fred Derry gets on the B-17 at the end of the movie to exercise his demons, the nose section of the plane noticeably moves when he gets on and gets off, showing it's a studio prop.
