They both used each other to stay out of suspicion from the government authroities looking for tourists traveling by themselves. They continued their relationship, giving false identities to their nature of buisiness. John claimed to be the owner of a construction company, while Jane was head IT for Wall Street. Neither of them realized that they were both secret agents.

Trivia: Nicole Kidman was supposed to star along side Brad Pitt, but had to pull out due to other commitments. When she did this, Brad also pulled out but later re-joined when Angelina Jolie was cast.
Question: After John and Jane killed all those people, wouldn't their boss send more people after them? And why don't the Smiths fear/anticipate/react to this fact/possibility? Is it me or does it seem the only way they could have a happy ending is die or they have to kill the boss and destroy all their records (Which they would probably die trying).
