Katie has to leave the Islands once Batista has fleed the country. She and Javier never finish the dance so they don't win the dance contest. They do however become king and queen of La Rosa Negra.

Factual error: Whenever you see a license plate, it says "Puerto Rico, Isla Del Encanto" (where the film was shot). The movie takes place in Cuba.
