Corrected entry: Major Danby is in the final scene of the movie, which is impossible since he is dead already.

Correction: Major Danby didn't die in the movie, he was a flight operations officer, and didn't fly. There is no scene in the movie that shows him being killed, or any mention of it.

Corrected entry: When Maj. Major Major Major has been promoted to Major, he is in his office trying to get away from those wishing to see him, the picture on the wall behind his desk changes three times.

Correction: 1. Copied from IMDb, where it is also corrected -2. MMMM runs round the office three times in ONE shot - they had a stage hand change the picture while the camera was on him and off the wall. It is not a mistake, it is a part of the film's chaotic message. Nothing is as it seems.

Corrected entry: The length of time Alan Arkin spends at the window differs dramatically from the beginning to the end of the film. At the beginning, he spends a lot of time there. At the end, it is only a brief moment even though this is supposed to be the same scene.

Correction: Movie's aren't shown in real time. The time Alan Arkin spends at the beginning was done to establish the scene. The director will have shortened the scene at the end to keep the scene flowing.

Corrected entry: When John Voight's character has the egg in his hand and is explaining the profits that can be made, the egg is suddenly gone as he begins walking away. When Bob Newhart's character has been promoted to Major, he is in his office trying to get away from those wishing to see him, the picture on the wall behind his desk changes 2 or 3 times.

Correction: The director comments on the deliberate changing of the picture on the wall in the commentary on the DVD. I think it changes from Roosevelt to Churchill to Stalin although I'm not entirely sure.

Continuity mistake: General Dreedle is riding in a Jeep with Colonel Cathcart running alongside. When he stops in front of one plane the plane right behind them has a large number 60 on the tail. When the screen pans out to show him getting off the Jeep the plane behind them now has a large number 68 on the tail.

Colonel Cathcart: You're a disgrace. I'd like to know how you got to be a Captain, anyway.
Yossarian: You promoted me.
Colonel Cathcart: That has got nothing to do with it.
