Continuity mistake: When Arnold throws the pipe at Bennett the end of it is round and clean; in the following shot it is irregular shaped and edgy. (01:20:00)

Sacha

Commando mistake picture

Continuity mistake: At the very end of the film. When the 3 helicopters and the seaplane come into land, it is quite a wide shot, with no boats visible. A few minutes later, when the seaplane takes off again, a big white boat is near the coast. Even if the boat was off camera during the landing scene, a few minutes was surely not enough to get that far, and that close to the shore. (01:20:30)

Continuity mistake: At the end when Alyssa Milano is standing next to Arnold, in the wide shot you can see it's him, but in the close-up of Alyssa the person standing next to her has blond hair on his chest while Arnold is well "shaved clean". (01:21:30)

Continuity mistake: When Matrix is fighting with Bennet at the end of the film with the knifes, when Matrix slashes Bennet's wrist if you look at the knife it has no blood on it. (01:22:00)

Continuity mistake: When Bennett is beating the crap out of Matrix by the furnace, the close shots show big bleeding wounds, which disappear or diminish drastically in the wide shot. (01:22:25)

Sacha

Continuity mistake: In the fight scene where Matrix and Bennett are trying to force each other against the furnace, watch Bennett's hands as he struggles with Matix. In one shot Bennett has his hand pressing against Matrix's face, in the reverse shot he is holding Matix by the back of his head/hair. His hands switch back and forth several times. (01:23:00)

Continuity mistake: During the fight at the end of the movie between Matrix and Bennett when Bennett calls Matrix a "dead man" and he responds with "Bullshit" you see him come off the wall with his left hand. He is throwing a left hook, but in the very next shot when the punch comes in contact with Bennett his fist is going from right to left in a backfist motion, rather than a left to right hook. (01:23:45)

Magnum66

Revealing mistake: At the end of the fight between Matrix and Bennett, Matrix throws a pipe through his body into the steam duct behind him. However, immediately after he is pierced by the pipe, we see Bennett slide about half a foot down the wall, which would be impossible with the pipe lodged in behind him. (01:24:00)

Gabbo

Continuity mistake: At the end, where Matrix kills Bennett by throwing a pipe through him (OK sure, but let's just pretend). The pipe goes through Bennett, and into a steam pipe behind him. Then steam pours out of the Pipe that Matrix threw. Now what happened to all of the flesh, bone, skin, and blood that was inside of the pipe? (01:24:00)

Continuity mistake: At the end of the film, when the Army are arriving on the island, the amphibian plane is beached, with the nose facing the beach and the camera. In the next shot, when we see the same plane again, it has been moved out about 50ft, and turned round. (01:26:00)

Continuity mistake: During the car chase there is a silver Renault 5 which is behind the Porsche and in front of Arnie, two or three times Arnie overtakes it, yet in the following shot he is right behind it again. (01:38:43)

Plot hole: After Matrix and Bennett have their long fight Bennett picks up a small UZI ready to kill Matrix. Where did the gun come from? Matrix didn't kill anyone in that room and Bennett threw away the gun he had which was a pistol yet there just happens to be a gun already on the floor.

jbrbbt

Other mistake: At the end when Matrix gets into the sea plane the the landing gear is down - the landing gear is for ground landing only. Also shown earlier in the film before Matrix starts his assault.

Continuity mistake: In the final fight scene Bennett opens a furnace door into John's face, knocking him to the ground. When he opened the door it was two half-doors that opened together, yet in the next shot when he rips the door off to throw at John, only the bottom half is still there.

Audio problem: When Arnie sets his stop watch to count down from 11hrs, each second that the watch ticks over there is a loud 'beep'. This is consistent with when he looks at his watch later in the mall, when it reads 9hrs 40mins to go, his watch is still beeping every second. Therefore, Arnie's watch should have been beeping every second of the movie in between these two scenes, but we never hear it. Also, when Arnie and Cindy arrive at the Sunspot Motel (7hrs 57min to go) and when Arnie's in the back of the police wagon, at 5hrs 2min to go, the watch no longer beeps with each passing second.

AngryBird

Continuity mistake: Right when the fight between Matrix and Bennett begins, the Uzi submachine gun vanishes from Bennett's right shoulder (it was on a strap). Then suddenly at the end of the fight (after the fell down over the railing and to the next level down, the Uzi reappears when Bennett picks it up and attempts to shoot Matrix. Bennett lost it on the upper level nowhere near the railing, and it somehow appeared on the lower level away from the railing.

poehitman

Factual error: When Matrix escapes from the landing gear of the plane, he opens a hatch to access it, but doesn't close it behind him. This would have later led to the cabin depressurizing and the plane plummeting to the ground.

Suggested correction: No, it wouldn't. The entire wheel well of an airliner is pressurised - otherwise the tyres would explode! Once the undercarriage is retracted (typically at less than 1000 feet) the pressurisation problem no longer applies. Plus, the access door opens inward (like most aircraft doors), so the pressurization would force the door shut against the frame anyway.

Wheel wells of airplanes are not pressurized. Airplane tyres are about 145PSI at ground level, and at altitude they'd be under 160PSI, nothing radical for tyre manufacture. Plus as the air temperature decreases at higher altitudes, the tyre cools and the internal pressure drops, more than compensating for the lower external pressure.

Wheel wells of airliners are always pressurised. Those stowaways who hide in the wheel wells die from hypothermia or are crushed to death by the retracting undercarriage. They do not suffocate.

Arius: Your father appears to be cooperating. You will be back with him soon. Won't that be nice?
Jenny: Not as nearly as nice as watching him smash your face in.

Question: The villain's whole plan was to force John Matrix to kill some foreign president by holding his daughter hostage. So why at the beginning were they killing members of his unit? That seemed rather pointless to me.

Gavin Jackson

Answer: They didn't know where Matrix lived. They were killing Matrix's old unit because they knew if they did General Kirby would make physical contact with Matrix to warn him. They simply followed Kirby to Matrix's home.

BaconIsMyBFF

Answer: To flush him out into the open. By killing his unit it will make it more likely he will want revenge and come out into the open making him a target.
